I have an additional point to make about this... This is sorta like the situation of growing up sheltered in a first-world country and not having seen much outside of it. How much music have you listened to by audio-design amateurs who make shitty beats? Probably not a lot. I tend to look for more stuff by amateur hobbyists more, and I've made a lot of shitty-sounding beats of my own in the past. So you probably take it for granted that Rhythm is not that important because every successful song is already guaranteed to come with a professionally-made and polished beat to it. It's generally easier to standardize making a great rhythm than it is to make a great melody. Ultimately, the melody is where the creative potential is going to come but it will still sound lame without the right beat. You can read every music theory book there is, you're still gonna need to hire an audio engineer to make sure your beats don't sound like ass. Go ahead and try to sell an album with genius melodies but shitty production. As someone from the Philippines. We have rice with every single meal. Yeah maybe out of conformity, but point is Rice on its own still sells.

We generally sing Happy Birthday out of conformity.

Good Example..to show that you're wrong. Typically more people eat bread on its own than they eat cheese or a burger patty on its own. A cheeseburger is like a "Complete Package" where both is synthesized into a superior experience. Yes, typically people remember the meat and cheese more. My point is, you gotta have good ground level first. That's why I said it was more important, from a certain perspective, not objectively.

I have quite a bit of experience with Music Production. Big part of my Life Purpose. Here's my take... Rhythm is the baseline. In a certain sense, it's actually more important because it's sort of a fundamental ground-level you need to build up everything else in the track. In general, your Melody is going to work in tandem with the Rhythm. A different Rhythm might actually "recontectualize" the same Melody, because different notes are being emphasized. A great Melody is what you need to make a good "Genius-level" composition, but with a mediocre rhythm is still not gonna turn heads of the common viewers. You kinda need that highly-polished or professional beat to attract the majority of people, and then maybe a few with more "refined tastes" will recognize the genius of the melody underneath. But personally, I'm more of a Dance Music addict, and my mind loves to think of amazing and unique melodies for my own tracks. So I like to think I try to get the best of both worlds when it comes to Melody vs Rhythm

Damn lol

But Leo! Aren't many of these mediocre people still also struggling to survive? And maybe those that aren't are mostly living life unconsciously. How can you enjoy "Being" with that life?

Exactly why I follow you, man. My Artistic Life Purpose isn't insane or weird enough. . .yet

This video almost makes me feel like crying.

You ever play Rayman Origins? Even better imo. The sequel, Rayman Legends was disappointing though.
-
On a serious note, there's quite an interesting hypocrisy that he presents here. He criticizes Leo for calling people inferior for not being able to accept or understand some Absolute Truths, but that's exactly how Science works a lot of the time, especially the Hard Sciences. STEM field-types like to hold certain positions they have as "Objective" and if you disagree with it it's because you're just too stupid to understand its profundity.
-
You can tell that Professor Dave is the exact opposite of Leo. . . Because one of them has long flowing hair and the other. . . well. . .

Hannah Spier's video is definitely a critique from below. Reason: Who the hell uses Tiktok/Instagram-like subtitles in a supposedly "Intellectual" Youtube Essay? Obviously trying to pander to low-attention spans.
-
Oh we're watching them. Maybe it's the YT algorithm? It's not out of the ordinary to have sequel parts to have much less views than Part 1. Maybe a lot of normies or rationalists viewed Part 1 and got scared off like the cowards they are.

My personal list of Conformity Examples Music Only listening to Popular Singles Dressing up the “Look” of the Subculture (Hippie, Punk, Hiphop, etc.) Karaoke Gaming Online Multiplayer YouTuber Fads (Horror Games, Wacky Physics Games, etc.) Idolizing Old Games that Have Not Aged Well Career Sending out Hundreds of Applications Optimizing Resume, Over Skills and Projects Sticking to a “Safe” Unambitious Career Path YouTube Content Using Ridiculous “Censor” Words Like “Grape” or “Sewer Slide” Adding Random “Background Music” set to Low Volume Trying to Appease “The Algorithm” Philosophy Thinking Consensus Matters Even a Tiny Bit Saying you have “No Philosophy” or Philosophy Doesn’t Matter. Calling yourself any kind of “ist”. E.g. Marxist, Capatalist, Buddhist. etc.

You are sorta disconnected from Reality in this regard if you still think this is true. Have you seen the recent Pokemon Z-A debacle? How about the 20$ DLC for DK Bananza which was a bare bones extra game mode. Nintendo's soul has literally left the company. The people at the top used to have a true passion for creative game development but they've since either left or literally died of cancer. Perhaps they were killing it with the Switch 1 but the Switch 2 shows the original Nintendo is dead.

You realize they wouldn't have to make that if they didn't have a slavery problem in the first place, right? That's like a fat person disputing they need to lose weight by displaying their upcoming liposuction procedure.

Everytime I see the "We got X before we got GTA VI" meme, I assume the person using it has no original personal preferences of their own.

I once called an arrogant Scientism defender (as in they explicitly defend Scientism as objective good) a "Rationalist Nerd". They responded by saying they are connected to Reality. Sometime later, they tried to argue that the morality of Slavery is completely based on history, and that if in the future most people are okay with slavery then there would be nothing wrong with that. This was because they were getting triggered for being called out that worshipping Pragmatism makes one selfish and evil. Some more time later, before they blocked me, they were calling leftists "ghouls" for making fun of Jordan Peterson for tearing up over the "marginalization of incels". They accused the left of making fun of men for expressing emotions. (This was after they told me point blank that they believe emotions and ethics are meaningless) Extreme Rationalism is quite attractive to emotionally-unstable lunatics. How curious.

@Leo Gura made it a point in his latest video that people who have lived in America their entire lives have their minds warped by American conformity. My mind instantly went to this one YT Channel I came across that had nothing but funny stories about American stupidity/entitlement. Would be a great source of examples for American CULTural programming.

Uhm...to better hide the craft? Why would you compare it to a helicopter landing when you just said there's no downward thrust. Not disputing that most crop circles are fake, by the way. I've seen the documentaries about people creating crop circles on their own using computer graphics, a piece of wood, and total lack of anything better to do. -
Still busy building financial freedom and have zero existing psychedelic experience.

It's quite something to see someone who comes across as very reasonable and rational while at the same time incredibly unhinged and delusional. Very calm and straightforward in his demeanor but just the fact of being Charlie Kirk fan at all shows that he is fundamentally disconnected from reality.
