FoxFoxFox replied to caelanb's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@caelanb Don't get me wrong, Alan Watts was without a shadow of a doubt an enlightened master, but, as he said himself, he loved to philosophize, and philosophy is not what enlightenment is about. Just be mindful of that. -

@Rilles I feel for all these seekers. It is only mind games. One only has to bow out to realize. -

Cutting, suffering, sufferer, pain, blood, knife, headache, forum, accounts, experiences. These are all thoughts. I am this, I am that. Be as you are, without these thoughts ever arising, and you will see for yourself how cutting "me" is really cutting "yourself". Really look into your direct experience of life and see if you can find the doer of actions. Go grab a glass of water and drink it, without there ever being the thought of the glass, the water, the drinking and the drinker. It's all the Self. Undivided. The Self is like the cinema screen on which different scenes play out. The mind divides the images into parts and assigns names to them. One of these is the "I". -

Excellent. That is why the sages say that if enlightenment could be transmitted by words alone then all of mankind would be enlightened. All that we talk about is to be treated as signposts, pointing towards the direction of truth but never quite it. The truth is silent - mouna. Seeing, suffering, feeling etc. are all thoughts. You say I have a headache and I suffer. But sit down and really look into this experience. Can you really find the sufferer? There is no duality. Your present confusion is due to the beliefs held. Empty your head and look into your direct experience. There is just reality, and it is not split into parts. That is what the absolute is. -

Hmm. This last one hits close to home. -

@non_nothing Body, mirror, eyes, I. These are all thought forms. So is vision. You believe that thoughts don't exist. That is a thought. You believe that the source comes from your body. That is a thought. You believe that the feeling of existence emanates from the body. That is a thought. The important thing to realize here is that identification with body is an illusion. So is identification with any thought form, or any emotions. These are the three levels of detachment that are most pertinent to your case. Now only by inquiring the nature of all those thoughts can you begin to see through their illusion. But that is something that has to be done by you. You have to keep questioning these beliefs, and see if you can find evidence against them. Here's an example: In dreamless sleep, there is neither body nor mind, yet you continue to exist. Is this not so? Does your existence stop when you are in deep sleep? Even though there is no mind or body to experience the Self, and there is no awareness of the material world, being continues. Can you see that? I assume that you are interested in enlightenment. What do YOU think is the reason you are not enlightened? -
FoxFoxFox replied to non_nothing's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@non_nothing Stop that belief and see for yourself. Identification with a body is based on the thought "I am the body." How would things be if that thought never occurred? Moreover, who is this "I"? Where is it? Can you point out to anywhere in the body and say, there it is, that's me? If you point to your head and say that's it, then who is it that is becoming aware of the head? -

God is a concept (by which we measure our pain xD) -

@Leo Gura "You are creating a duality between thoughts and matter, as though they are made of two different substances." This is the absolute truth. I would even say that "Thoughts and matter are literally made out of the exact same stuff: consciousness." itself is to be let go of. Silence. Mouna. That is more truthful. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Anirban657's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Start with "I". Who is this "I" who has started inquiry of beliefs? The objective here is to get rid of all the various beliefs and thoughts you hold to be true about life. There is fork in the road here. One path leads to years of seeking, and the other will give you immediate insight into the truth. One path is seeking "stages of enlightenment and deeper realizations" while the other path IS realization. This insight from Ramana Maharshi was invaluable in my own enlightenment: To make room it is sufficient to remove the furniture. Room is not brought from elsewhere. The point is that enlightenment is already here. You are already enlightenment. Just get it. Who is this "I" who is confused? Confusion only exists so far as you identify with the this "I". "So what is the difference between conceptual realisation and a deep reality shattering realisation?" There is no such thing as either of those things. Just get it. -

Hello young friend. I can't tell you what's right for you, but if i were in your shoes, i wouldn't invest too much into any philosophy, new age or otherwise. What we do here is mostly deconstruction our beliefs. -

@Anirban657 yes in the relative world. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Anirban657's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Anirban657 Yes and to a massive scale. Try this: remember the memory of the last time someone did you wrong. Did you get angry or sad? Did your heart get heavy? Did your stomach get upset? That's thoughts affecting matter. -

FoxFoxFox replied to Manjushri's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@SoonHei But you see, all of that is also assumptions and concepts. Reality is a concept. Infinite is a concept. Your conclusion is a concept. How can i say this? When I am silent, they all disappear! -
FoxFoxFox replied to Manjushri's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
First of all the assumption that human beings are rational actors is a matter of great debate even among philosophers. But nevertheless, It is not correct to say that there is no reality without perception. Enlightenment is all about realizing that reality exists independent of anything else. The image of the Sun that gives light to illuminate itself is appropriate here. To see the point for yourself, try to understand that whatever concept you may hold cannot bind reality down. Rationality, property, perception. These are all concepts. These are thoughts that one can try and impose on reality. But just as the your image in the mirror is not the real thing, these too are illusion. -

Do you have active kundalini, and if so, what insight has it specifically unlocked so far? What is your understanding of bliss? -
FoxFoxFox replied to MM1988's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
The truth - the Self - is silent. It just is. Human consciousness comes up with concepts and superimposes them on reality. Of course, human consciousness is not in truth separate from the Self, so we can say that the Self (or infinite intelligence as you call it) is superimposing these beliefs upon itself. Now by reading what i wrote, i hope you can gain an appreciation for how language breaks down when it comes to explain this truth. It's like running in circles. So when you say "Basically I want to know if infinite intelligence extends to the social levels of reality." I want you to realize that what you conceptualize might not make much sense in the face of the absolute (yet another name for the Self, infinite intelligence etc). Regarding the last bit of your post, there has been an incredible amount of philosophizing about mechanisms that go into this life. Karma, power of imagination, law of attraction etc. but I recommend silence. It is the most truthful. -

I gotta say, the point he is trying to make is incredibly valuable. It took me a year to finally be able to realize that a spiritual ego is still an ego. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Shanmugam's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
This last imagine reminds me of something that i heard a while ago about heaven. If you think about it, heaven would be a kind of place that is frozen and ever unchanging. All the pain that the body experiences throughout its life is because it lives in an evolutionary world that is constantly moving towards perfection. In contrast heaven is not an evolutionary world but rather a cold, still place. Somehow makes it so much less appealing to think of it that way. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Sockrattes's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
There is no duality. Your present confusion is based on assumptions that you are superimposing on reality. In truth, there are no separate beings, enlightened or otherwise. There is only the Self. For there to be others, the assumption that you yourself are a separate entity must be held, which is illusion. -

Look into your experience and see if you can find this "I" who knows stuff. Can you find it anywhere? Can you point at any part of your body for example and say that it is the "I"? If you answered yes, ask who is it that is aware of this thing then?
