  1. The digestive system is interesting, but it doesn't prove what the healthiest diet is. For example, maybe we did not evolve to eat legumes, and not designed to digest legumes. Perhaps legumes are the healthiest by accident, despite our digestive system. The evidence shows legumes are the healthiest, so lets take advantage of that. The long life in Blue Zone is compelling. Blue Zones eat legumes and little to no meat. Luxembourg is not a blue zone. People in a blue zone live longer. Also, there are more things to consider besides the lengths of intestines. Our bodies don't make vitamin C (carnivores make vitamin C). Our bodies hold on to cholesterol (carnivores do not). Source: https://nutritionfacts.org/video/the-problem-with-the-paleo-diet-argument/ There is anecdotal evidence for almost anything. Whole-food plant-based is backed by scientific studies on large populations (see links below). Whole-food plant-based is not the same as Vegan. A vegan diet deficient in whole foods is not healthy. 2. Before we were hunters, we where fructivores. We evolved to eat meat for when the opportunity arises. But chronically eating meat causes health problems when we are older. Because good health after age 40 takes much-much longer to evolve. To find the healthiest diet to carry humans into old age, look at the blue zones. Beans and whole grains are the dietary cornerstones of the longest living populations on Earth. Plant-based diets in general, and legumes in particular, are a common thread among longevity Blue Zones around the world. Source: https://nutritionfacts.org/video/paleo-diet-studies-show-benefits/
  3. Eat bigger meals more often. You can eat all the vegetables you shovel into your face and not become overweight because fiber. If your friends are not astounded by the size of your salads, make them bigger. Eat whole oily foods like avocado and nuts. Also whole grains and legumes (like beans and lentils).
  4. Noone Here, I am glad you are feeling better. It's hard to tell which diet change improved your health because there are so many variables. Dr. Greger reviewed Dr. Gundry’s The Plant Paradox, but I must warn you, he presents some convincing science arguing against the Plant Paradox: https://nutritionfacts.org/video/dr-gundrys-the-plant-paradox-is-wrong/
  5. The antidote to dogma is science. Science has identified the healthiest diet for humans, and it is a whole-food plant-based (WFPB) diet. There is too much scientific evidence to list here. Here is a video introducing the Whole-Food Plant-Based Diet: The presentation is 55 mins, followed by a Q&A of 20 mins (Q&A is also informative). More information about WFPB is at https://gist.github.com/wolfv6/5bec2304b8294d84ff0d65488c8179ef Or just google "Whole-Food Plant-Based".

  7. I eat a Whole-Food Plant-Based (WFPB) diet for health. It lowed my cholesterol from good to excellent. Otherwise I have not noticed a difference because I was already healthy. For me, it's more of a long-term investment for better health later in life. Not all vegetarian or vegan diets are healthy. WFPB is the healthiest, and science backs up that claim. 8. The book "HOW NOT TO DIE" by Michael Greger, M.D. https://nutritionfacts.org/book/ It explains the whole-food plant-based (WFPB) diet. WFPB is based on an impressive amount of scientific evidence. More information about WFPB and Dr. Greger is at: https://gist.github.com/wolfv6/5bec2304b8294d84ff0d65488c8179ef
