Hmm... You’re clearly ignoring a large swath of men. What are your surrounding btw? And how many dates have you gone on? Look back to your High school days. Who were the people at the bottom who no one cared about? (Hint: think of the nerdy guys in computer lab) That’s perfectly fine, if you want to get into a relationship it’s fine, but there should be no peer pressure to get in one. Don’t get into relationships that don’t go anywhere, that was one of Leo’s advice to young people. See that can be a problem with shy people in some situations. Like if you are nice and all, then all of a sudden they find out you were offended for some reason. The guy would think, “why didn’t she tell me or give me a warning? I could have apologized or improved?” It’s hard to comment on your specific case. I find that most men your age (20-21) are focusing on building their career. The lower tier guys are struggling with video games addiction and pornography, they can’t even think of giving dating their full attention. IMO that like more than half of all guys in 20s. That leaves you with high-tier guys, who will have high expectations. IMO most of them are extroverts or at least ambiverts, so they want the same for their partners, rarely have I seen a full introvert have their shit together, usually they are introverts because they are depressed or something.

That may be because you have a higher vocabulary in that language. So if you speak German but all your academic vocabulary is in English because you use English in school, then when you study, insights will be in English, simply because you have higher vocabulary in English. I speak multiple languages and can think fluently in them too. It takes time to switch between them, and to switch completely can take as long as a month. Each language carries with it certain associations my mind has picked up over the years. These can be emotional associations and can give a unique flavour when thinking in each language. For example, certain words and phrases have deep emotional associations in my native language that I don’t have with their counterparts in English, my non-native language. Therefore I am much more “objective” when thinking in English. For example, the phrase, “I love you” means little to me in English, but means a lot more to me when translated to my native language. You can try it for yourself, say “I love you” in your native language, then say it in another language you don’t know, like Japanese or Russian for e.g. Feel how you have emotional associations with the words in your native language and not with the words in the other language. -
I had seen clips of Borat but thought it was a comedy skit. Okay but how did Rudy not see all the cameras and the lighting?

I disagree with that. I guess we just have to agree to disagree. Some time earlier I came across a thread about astrological predictions for 2020, it was a youtube video, and then I got curious and checked the youtuber’s older predictions, and obviously they were wrong. The descriptions were, as always, vague to fit any situation and anybody. But people were accepting on the forum, there was no healthy questioning. (Believing date of birth affects personality is similar to believing skin color affects personality; they’re equally dumb) Then, there is a similar thread about changing eye color by LOA. This is similar to someone claiming dick sizes can be increased by doing some exercise. I don’t think this is spiritual. And if you challenge them too much they’ll call you close minded like Drewnows. Saying a stone will heal you or your personality is linked to your date of birth and stuff like that, is similar to saying the government is poisoning you or that aliens are controlling humans. The latter is banned and the former is allowed. -
WTF Is that really Rudy Giuliani? Did they pay him to do this? This is like a comedy movie. Lol

Sharing such an experience is fine. What I meant was mostly these unverified claims about things like crystals, astrology, and stuff. Believing in them is like believing in conspiracy theories. It is speculations as well, I doubt people who present such claims have done their due diligence to verify them. -

@Leo Gura Hey, you should ban paranormal, astrology, witchcraft, and superstitions from the forum too if you are banning conspiracy theories. It is the same sort of thinking. -
Are you a teacher? Why are you defending homework man? Homework in Highschool is necessary to a certain level, after all students have to learn addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, grammar, and writing. But what is the point of having homework in university, especially in science programs? We have the "technical skills" to understand science, we dedicated the past 12 years getting those. I looked up the meaning of "technical" here's one of the definitions: "of, involving, or concerned with applied and industrial sciences." If I am not in applied science, not learning a language, then why am I being forced to do HW like a robot? At least make it optional! My university has made it for marks, like more than 40%! I am here to understand differentiation, not to get efficient at differentiation, that a calculator can do. For technical exams, I got high grades in high school without doing much of any HW. If other students need HW to pass then give it to them. But why am I being forced to do it? The actual science, like lab work, observing, and experimenting - is all rushed - labs are all rushed! Tell me, would Newton have done science this way?
-
All my HS teachers said in their days uni was mostly about exams and no HW. HW is repetitive and shallow, it takes time away from deeper understanding. Science is not suppose to be technical, unless you’re in applied sciences. Homework is quite possibly the single biggest thing I hate about University! I could be understanding proofs, questioning assumptions, asking outside the box questions, instead here I am doing word problems for 2 hrs/day online while my friend asks me, "what is the answer to question number 2?"! Complete memory based rote learning! Sometimes HW can be alright, like an art project or a writing assignment. HW where I get to express my creativity and opinions can be fun.
-
I meant giving HW in University is new.

Not a question, but do talk about how in soft sciences like social sciences and psychology one needs experiential understanding more than theoretical concepts. And how in university students and professors are not interested in learning science from first principals. They don't even teach theories and math formulas from first principal, let alone ask out of the box questions. I was learning a very simplified version of quantum mechanics in my 1st year of undergrad and I was so disappointed by the gaps in my knowledge and understand which the profs refused to teach. I was expecting an in-depth learning of science or at least having enough free time to do that on my own, expect my university gave copious amounts of shallow homework, quizes, and classwork (I think it's part of their new-age "holistic" education plan because I'm sure back in the day unis gave next to no HW) so I couldn't get the time to dig deeper on my own. And digging deeper has no incentive, in fact you'll be worse of because you wasted time learning something not on the test. I find university science is like high school science except the syllabus has a slightly bigger scope.

Hmmmm... but they accuse everyone of being left-wing. Watch Joseph Paul Watson, he thinks everyone is progressive in the mainstream. Maybe the entertainment industry they react to leans left and there is a silent right-wing majority.
-
If you think about it, one of the major attractions of the “right” is conspiratorial thinking. “The minorities are misguided, the intellectuals are lying, and the mainstream is all wrong!” — That’s the thinking of many typical right-wingers and some far left-wingers.

LOL No thanks, I don't need your post. You can't be serious. If you can't separate a criminal from a saint then there is something wrong with you. I feel sorry for you. -

WTF?!... what's wrong with people. -
@universe I think the problem may also have to do with my physical health (sleep schedule, deficiencies, and nutrition). This may be the main issue. I noticed I wake up groggy and I don't have enough energy, so I force my body to do work. It may be a combination of physical and psychological with both feeding into each other. I'll be focusing on physical health too. It will be a long process, I shouldn't expect to feel better overnight.

Hey guys, I've been trying but I cannot motivate myself positively. Idk if this is a personality thing or what but my strongest motivation is always negative. I can't think of a time when I was positively motivated, it has always been trying to "fix" something or trying to "move away" from a situation. My strongest motivations are always coming from a place of dissatisfaction. It's feels angry-ish, usually short-bursts of high energy, working like a perfectionist, then relaxing. I understand that negative motivation can lead to getting into comfort zones, but I feel I am not chasing pleasure (I think). I understand there is nothing to do in life. I consciously choose to pursue things, challenge myself, and create a meaningful life. It is just that, my motivation feels very "negative", raw, aggressive, and focused on moving away from the place I am currently in, and less on moving towards a place. Whenever I try to use positive motivation or positive emotions I become lazy, negativity is so much more motivating for me. "Going to work should be like going to war, battle plans drawn, with the aim to crush the enemy." - Nathan Glass. This is what it feels like to me. Is this a personality thing? Will it change overtime cause I recently realized what I should pursue in life? Am I not visioning right (I'm really bad visioning stuff)? Am I in stage red or orange (I don't feel like I am)? What do think?

Sadhguru is meeting Native Americans. Talking about their mysticisms. Might be relevant for you Americans. -

Yikes! The two guys in the middle seemed so pissed off, especially the quiet one. Sadhguru's views on politics are so naïve, "well socialism hasn't worked alright," c'mon. -
It causes existential crises. That's the main reason.
-
Hmmm. Maybe. It may just be a personality trait. Or I may not be use to being driven. My lazy ego playing tricks on me. I am starting to think it's not a problem at all. For eg. if I want to read a book, wanting to read it motivates me, but I still have to self-flagellate, but that self-flagellation is to read the book. And I kind of enjoy that self-flagellation, like for it's own sake. Maybe I am using both + -. IDK it's hard to explain, I'm not motivated by fear alone per say, but if I decide to have a goal I am motivated more by moving away from point A than going to point B. I am starting to think those two approaches are not that different after all. The desire to go to point B is the same as the desire to avoid going to all the other points. The duality between the carrot and the stick is starting to break... duality between fear and desire. You know self-flagellation is a spiritual practice too. I kind wanna do that. @Byun Sean Alright. I'll try to implement that. @hyruga Alright. I'll put "power vs. force" in my book list. @Preety_India Lack of stage red is what I was thinking.
-
No, it’s not that. I think I’m just mistaking drive and being proactive with aggression. I think I’m just not use to it yet. In the ultimate sense there is no meaning or purpose. It’s relative. But you need to create it to live a good life. My long term goal is to help people medically. My short term goal is to do well in my university program.
-
I guess I should clarify, I'm not exactly motivated by negative motivation (pleasure), but when I have a goal, I approach it with the urgency and seriousness of going to war. It's either very serious or not at all. Idk if this is normal or healthy. Wars can be ambitious too. Positively motivated by wanting more land and wealth. Campaigning to enemy lands in thrill of adventure and glory. Femininity makes me let go desires, good for meditating, not good for motivation. Maybe motivation and life purpose is suppose to be a stage orange thing.

@electroBeam I am not questioning the validity of Bhatki yoga. I am saying that we should know it's limitations. What happens when your spiritual guru starts supporting a political party that you don't agree with? OR What if he tells you to murder someone or do some crazy stuff like that? OR has unscientific or racist beliefs? Most people don't have the capability to intuitively feel what's right, they can get into various traps if they do Bhakti Yoga, and such people are very common in India. I think there was some post here about a person's experience with Sadhguru's courses, and how they found many stage blue followers in his ashram. I think we agree that in the relative sense spirituality doesn't mean political understanding.
-
@electroBeam Sure, Sadhguru might embody more spirituality than Leo (arguable but okay), but does he understand politics and his biases? I would say his political understanding is bad. Are his followers genuine truth seekers or are they mostly dogmatic Hindu religious nuts? Do his followers actually understand anything when he says magical stuff or do they just accept it without questioning? If we are being honest his followers mostly follow him because of religious dogma and other reasons, not really for truth. And don't forget just because someone is "enlightened" doesn't mean they know how politics works or how to perform surgery. We can't even be sure they know the limits of their mind imo.
