  1. @Aeris What happened then? You fell out?
  2. Hey all, I am a graduated software and AI engineer, and I recently had this idea in mind. This morning during my meditation session I couldn't really focus and then suddenly something else came to mind. What if I make a user friendly app that monitors your progress in meditation? The only real good app is "Headspace" right now. But that is more of a meditation guide more so than an app tracking your progress. The idea I have of how the app can look like is as follows: 1- Set you daily meditation time. Will send you a push notification when the time is there to meditate 2- Before the meditation session starts: ask a few simple questions (skippable / non-skippable) (eg: How are you feeling from 1-5, Thoughts bugging them right now,...) 3- Start of meditation, depending on the journey of the user, will start with 20 min (user can of course change this manually) 4- Questions after meditation: Were there any re-occurring thoughts? How easy was it to meditate? Emotions that came up during meditation? The ability of the user to handle said emotions? Overall rating of the meditation? These questions should be easy to answer (preferrable just rating from 1-5, or if asked for real feedback, one sentence answers) This would in turn provide information needed to draw a graph for the user; and track improvements. If time passes, ease would preferrably increase, less intrusive thoughts,... App could also include different forms of meditation (breathe awareness, do-nothing, candle meditation, etc.) (still have to research on that) Or possibility for a section to add targeted meditation; say you are facing a difficult episode or some events you can't seem to get over, guide the user to face their fears / doubts, feel the emotion fully and allow them to let go. Basically more of a therapy kind of meditation session with progress. These are just some random ideas. Bottom line is, it should be a personal diary of the user and their meditation experience to offer them an objective measurements on the effects of meditation on their life and prefferably would lower the drop-out rate of meditation. What are your thoughts?
  3. @Highest Don't be too straight-forward though haha, she might get scared of if you want to stress it that much I don't know But let us know about the developments! Excited for you!
  4. @peqkno Cool, but this doesn't really track a user's personal progress. Only the days-streak. But nice find! @Bluebird Awesome, thanks for the feedback!! I will make this app using Flutter (will be able to deploy to both Android and iOS devices). Ill hit you up when it gets too complicated, and possibly partner up! @Nahm Thanks Nahm, your feedback / excitement are greatly appreciated. Feel so much love from you always! For sure would love to share some ideas! @Girzo Thanks for the input. It's always a challenge between building a simple start forward app but also want it to be as accurate and helpful as possible.
  5. @Nahm Thanks for the feedback! Ill start working on it, because I will use it myself anyways, might as well share it with others.
  6. in this video Leo says he had been meditating for 250 days - 1 hour a day. This was approx. 5 years ago. Would like to see a follow-up on the benefits of meditation after 5 years of doing it consistently, and how the expectations he had about meditation were met or not. Maybe some wrong preconceptions? Or better than expected?
  7. This is one of my favorite songs.. Could be interpreted as enlightenment And I thought it was strange, you said everything changed You felt as if you just woke up And you said "This is the first day of my life I'm glad I didn't die before I met you But now I don't care, I could go anywhere with you And I'd probably be happy"
  8. What made you continue your path to enlightenment? What made you start, what made you not give up and how did you know you reached it?
  9. Animals have different personalities.. For example some dogs are more aggressive than others, some are more shy, some are loud, quiet, etc... Doesn't even have to depend on the breed. BUT... If personality is a product of identification with the ego, then how come animals have different personality traits?
  10. I know it's ridiculous But this song Really, if you listen to the lyrics
  11. @Gabriel Antonio medication is basically ignoring it though. The emotions are never dealt with. Only surpressed. But I get your point.
  12. @Gabriel Antonio So what should you do with them?
  13. @Salvijus So why don't you give him some legitimate advice instead of calling it a "stupid question".
  14. @Preetom i think i have had this for 9 months straight. It was more in the heart area. I had a constant pressing kind of pain, really uncomfortable but it was there all the time. From when I woke up until I went to sleep I could feel it. I went to the physiotherapist, doctor, etc. I just wished everyday it was over. I realized from the beginning that the doctor or physiotherapist weren't going to be the solution but I wanted to try it anyways. The doctor was thinking about thoracic blockage. Basically it was repression of stress and emotional pain that couldn't be dealt with in a healthy way. At that point there were life events happening and it literally hurt my heart because I couldn't get in peace with it. Once I could finally find peace with the situation the pain was gone..
  15. @How to be wise So pain receptors do exist?
  16. @How to be wise Do you feel physical pain?
  17. @luckieluuke Exactly this. And studies have shown that animals do feel pain.
  18. @How to be wise Okay, good points. So pain receptors don't exist? And why does "pain" exist at all than? At the very beginning, why did "pain" introduce itself then? It has to come from somewhere right, this root, on which the memory is based and anticipated
  19. @How to be wise sounds a bit naive to me to be honest. So you're saying if it can't be remembered or anticipated you wouldn't feel pain? So if you throw boiling water on a baby they wouldn't feel pain? It doesn't make sense to me because in that logic, if pain can only be felt if it is remembered, if has to be manifested once. What about the first time you felt pain? You didn't have any memory about what it would feel like, so why did you feel anything at all?
  20. @How to be wise Not sure about this. So you're saying when you put your hand in boiled water and don't think about the pain you won't have pain?
  21. I used to have a lot of problems with them. Then i forgot I had them. Made me not see them anymore. But every week you keep reminding me about them since every thread you post are about them. So now I'm seeing them again. Boyyy...
  22. I was thinking of using psychedelics (truffles) while meditating. I expect to reach another level of consciousness while doing it. I have a few questions regarding this. 1) What would be a good amount? I was thinking about 15g. Or is this too much for just breathe focussed meditation? You should know that I just started meditation quite recently. Is 15g too much? Should I start with lower doses? I have been using 15g but that was mostly when I was more active and engaged with my environment. Not meditating. 2) Frequency of usage? Is one a month healthy? Or should I take more time in between? 3) Setting? I was thinking I would just do it in my room, with music on. Considering its winter and cold outside right now. Cheers and lots of love as usual.
  23. @Serotoninluv interesting! How about this though: I was a bit depressed the first time I did psychedelics. In this light, the psychedelics would 100x amplify my depressed mood. Wouldn't it? Although instead during the trip I felt extremely loving and could see the situation that caused me suffering from another more loving perspective. Even though my mind made it out to he the worst thing ever right before.
  24. @outlandish Wow. This is actually amazing advice. I studied about neural networks of the brain and what you say actually makes so much sense! Really, thank you a ton
