Day 14: Energy: 3 Awareness: 4 Sexual thoughts/urges: 5 Self-esteem: 4 Social confidence: 4 Feeling a little better today. I'm still practicing mindful awareness everywhere I can. I'm already starting to see some benefits, but I know those will build and skyrocket pretty soon!

TheAvatarState replied to clouffy's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@clouffy Enlightenment is to realize there is no perpendicular space in which to distance yourself from. Your intellectual mind is not distant from you. It is impossible to relate an analogy of 3-D space to enlightenment. It cannot be conceptualized, that's what it means to be transrational. Enlightenment is being. It comes prior to conceptualization of any kind. Transrational does not mean "beyond" or "up" like we'd normally think. It's more like "without." It's a qualitatively different kind of knowing that occurs without the presence of mind. It can only be experienced. It cannot be communicated, only pointed to. -

It's really simple. Here are the purposes of life: Raise your consciousness. Raise your capacity to love. Take in the beauty of life. To feel alive! To not have a single day where you're just going through the motions. The key to this is to bring consciousness into every task, even the most mundane. -
This is the big one!

Because they've released all of their earthly attachments. They've already died.

@LoveandPurpose You mean procrastinating on goals until an arbitrary date in time set to enslave us? You mean the thing the rest of the herd tries and fails at because they haven't realized it's an illusion? That's gonna be a no for me dog.

Ah, the zone of mediocrity. Aren't we all smitten? -
Thank you. Perhaps you misinterpreted what I meant by "turquoise is similar to yellow." I meant that only in the sense that the way turquoise may use and view psychedelics is similar, and I also pointed out that turquoise is more interested in the nondual and love. From that perspective, I don't find it a contradiction to what you said. We just use different terminology because you're more tuned into the "frequency" and "healing" aspects of personal development. That's great, nothing wrong with that. It's all intimately connected in one way or another. Just know that there's more than one way to view the model of spiral dynamics, and that your insights may not be true or applicable for everybody.

I like how this said absolutely nothing about how higher stages think about or use psychedelics. Also, "the gap" is a figment of your imagination. It's just a model.

@LoveandPurpose Think of it this way. You change one habit at a time, you haven't changed yourself, you just hope that by changing your actions, you'll eventually change yourself. But the whole, long, grueling slog up the mountain is a fight against yourself. Your entire body wants to resist, and you'll easily rationalize why you shouldn't be taking these steps. Your mind has the capability to erase the mountain from view. Unless you want to struggle for months and months with no sight and no inner drive (because you haven't changed yourself), then don't do that. It could work if you had a strong foundation of habits already, but for me who basically had nothing to grab onto, I knew I had to work from the inside out. Might I suggest getting comfortable in your own body first. Do consciousness work first, and develop a thirst for it (you're here on this forum, so I think you might already have it). Practice being present as much as you can throughout the day. Be mindful. Practice self-love and love towards others. I have found that if you raise your consciousness enough, you'll reach a breaking point where you simply can't continue your old habits any longer. When this time comes, write in detail all of your thoughts and feelings, all of your fears and insecurities about making the BIG change in your life that you knew was inevitable. Then when you're truly ready, feeling that in every ounce of your being, make THE VOW. You're making the biggest changes in your life you can, so make this turning point official. Make a ceremony around it. This was known to be essential in ancient cultures, and trust me, it is. I wandered aimlessly for a little bit before I listened to Leo and realized how necessary a vow was to this path. This isn't a mission statement or anything, as I'm still trying to find my life purpose. You don't have to have everything figured out. But it's the vision to just say that from this day forward, I will be the person I was always meant to be. From this, I've made several huge changes at once, and I loved it. It hasn't been nearly as much of a struggle. Only you know if you're ready for something like this.

I attribute reading The Alchemist at a young age to maybe having been a big turning point in my consciousness. The seeds were planted there.

@Hellspeed Yeah, I've had glimpses of this stuff, and I'm past being a believer. I know this shit that's bordering on "psychic" abilities is the real deal. -
@LoveandPurpose Yes. Bringing conscious awareness into every mundane task in your life is key. Prioritize higher consciousness, and everything else will fall into place. This is not easy, but it can bring about radical transformation. The transformation that occurs within will be reflected out there. THIS IS NO SHORTCUT!! It is extremely difficult, so take this advice with caution. I'm not sure if you'd be ready to tackle your inner demons first, but it worked for me. I found this to be the most effective and rewarding method, because like you I'm impatient and not cut out for one change at a time. I demanded more from myself to make it happen, but man am I seeing results (that's not the point I'm after, I'm not chasing results, but just to give you an idea).

Every stage will react to psychedelics based on their current values, simple. Blue is fundamentally closed off from psychedelics and would never touch them. If you tried to force it down their throats, they'd have a really bad trip and not glean anything from it. Orange would be open to psychs under the pretense of increased creativity and performance. You see this with people in silicon valley microdosing LSD to improve performance. That's all they care about. A nice side effect is that it's pushing orange into green. You're familiar with Green. A return to nature and wisdom of the self. Emotions and connection. This is the first stage that promotes psychedelic use because the benefits become so apparent. The values changed to community and love. I'm mostly at Yellow (I still have to integrate more green and femininity). Psychedelics are sacred tools for yellow. We're all about knowledge and being radically open-minded. Psychs are invaluable to better understanding ourselves and deconstructing the world. They allow us to take on new perspectives that were otherwise impossible or unimaginable. Turquoise is similar to yellow. But the emphasis is more on transcending the self. If you could put a stage on a particular psychedelic, then 5-meo would be turquoise. It's about gaining nondual experiences and being shown aspects of yourself as infinity. I doubt you can be at turquoise without having a nondual experience of infinite love. This doesn't HAVE to come from a psychedelic of course, but it's a much faster and direct path.

One thing I've found is that you're MUCH more capable than you think. Anything is possible with a great enough vision and change in consciousness.

Just curious, were you an addict? Was it a huge lifestyle change? -

Yes, there are some things that just don't line up with this type of work. Alcohol and other hard drugs being among them. I'm happy you found the strength to quit. -

@Hellspeed I believe you, that's actually fascinating and I've been wondering about this. People say that social media or internet isn't a true connection to people, but I believe it is. This example doesn't make sense that you experience the connection THROUGH the video game, I think it points to the connection that separate partitions of consciousness are focused on the same experience. Really think about the mechanics of this. Picture 10 guys in a room focused on a crystal ball in the center. All 10 minds are the same, just separate "partitions," and they're all connected. When all 10 focus on the same experience, a certain gateway perhaps opens up, and any one of the people can influence how the rest of the people experience the ball. Now back to the video game example, it's obvious that distance is not a factor. All 10 people are having essentially the same experience. Infinite consciousness recognizes that, and "syncs" up the 10 players. It's not what you do in the game, it's the fact you're having the same experience and influencing others directly. Wild... -

@Aakash Good work on the recontextualization, that makes this one step easier. Would you say that suffering is the identification with the ego? -

@Aakash What is suffering? -

@EternalForest As long as you understand how those won't fulfill you, then that's all I wanted to get across. I'm not denying that video games can provide a sense of wonder or excitement, and I can even see them as tools of the future for raising consciousness. But 99% of video games today do not provide any of that. They are easily abused, and ultimately pull you into yet another hallucination, disconnecting you from yourself. Disconnect is the root of the video game fantasy. Appreciate that for what it is. Appreciate what game you're fundamentally playing here... -

Yes, this is a wonderful point. Imagine what a stage Yellow or Turquoise video game would be like! I can see immersive VR as potentially a tool for raising consciousness, but at the same time, noticing gaming's current trajectory, I see VR becoming a more consuming and destructive force. If you're passionate about video games, then I could see this as a potential avenue for amazing benefits for society. To help steer us away from our current path...
