  1. Terry Tao agrees: https://mathstodon.xyz/@tao/113873092369347147
  2. By now it has become abundantly clear that the direction of the US and by extension Geopolitics is one of turbulence, as Leo has written on his blog. When complex systems enter chaotic phases, they begin to exhibit “heavy-tailed” phenomena or “black swan” events as they are known in pop culture. In simple terms, what are thought of as “unlikely” and “extreme” events begin to cascade and proliferate the system due to its instability. You will see steady rise in global suffering over the coming years, consequence of the butchering of USAID, the Climate accords, the resource ambitions in Ukraine and Gaza, the politics of “maximal pressure”, trade wars, deregulation, etc. It is very likely the second- and third-order effects will reach you and your family. There are no “guarantees” by the nature of heavy-tailed events and their unbounded moments. Your personal development should focus on instilling discipline in your mind and rooting yourself in the things you can control - your day, your actions. You may lose your job, your social security, your pension, your savings. Whatever it is, be ready to claw your way out of it.
  3. I’m a South-Eastern European living currently in the US. Cost of living is indeed high, but so are the opportunities. Nothing where I’m from even comes close, without even accounting for the mafia and corruption.
  4. My average is about 6. I probably have some form of insomnia cuz even after a 4h night of sleep I sometimes find it hard to fall asleep. 20 min naps and creatine help a lot.
  5. What is your view on evolutionary epistemology and the ontology of abstraction hierarchies? I contest that evolution and transcendence have ontological basis and are not simply features of perspectives. You cannot get past the fact that reality operates on many layers.
  6. That’s an important point. Leo brought it up in the low vs high perspective video. Tis the reason grifters and con artists are always hyper charismatic.
  7. The key here is the name Curtis Yarvin that @Emerald brought up here and @Rafael Thundercat in another thread. Read his butterfly revolution post on the grey mirror substack. JD Vance has mentioned him by name as an inspiration. Point is, this isn’t about fear or pessimism. This is what is happening. Brace for it.
  8. @Rafael ThundercatThank you for sharing. This sent me down a rabbit hole and I didn't even know it went this deep. Edit: The Butterfly revolution (April 2022) seems already in play.
  9. For the US, most definitely. I was speaking on “global suffering” because a lot of people who are not American (like myself) tend to view Trump shenanigans’ as distant. Wanted to vocalise that your warning doesn’t concern only Americans, but everyone, whichever continent they are on.
  10. This is very interesting. I have found great value in the visuals, especially when I am in a math research state of mind. Might have to wait on the 5meo retreats until after the Fields medal lol.
  11. Now change that to the type of oligarchy the Russians have. Demonization would be the tamest form of attack. Part of the reason I have been so blackpilled in the last 2 years. No single man can euthanise the cancerous formation, but unless one attempts to save the organism, it will die. If I have to leave goodness out of it, I will.
  12. So would you agree that it is possible for systematic change to be achieved by a benevolent/ enlightened monarch, akin to Socrates’ “philosopher-king”?
  13. How many have actually read the paper: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2501.12948
  14. Good analysis is almost prophetic at times. A lot of neo-nazis are not aware they are becoming one. It is more a psychological phenomenon, similar to RedPill and BlackPill cultures.
  15. The Limbic system. Would make them an interesting case study for psychedelics and MDMA specifically.
  16. @Leo Gura Thought I had the Geography YouTube crates on lock but I have to secede.
  17. These two are not that independent. Grothendieck is a prime example. Komitas is another. Some minds break from the intensity.
  18. Both the madman and genius veer off the space covered by the “coherent collective” into unthreaded realms/islands of consciousness. A genius is one whose map/ understanding eventually becomes incorporated into the status quo. A madman is perhaps one who is so far off the trajectory of the collective conscious evolution that it remains an anomaly. Still, some perspectives/ spaces are fundamentally incompatible like snow in the desert or a fish at land. Perhaps some neurodivergent experiences are fundamentally incomprensible to the average mind.
  19. Are you willing to make those teachings available soon? I am more than happy to pay for your most poignant work. It is not that I don't find value in your recent videos, but I operate at a rather high level of intensity. My particular context has made it both possible and necessary to take on much more than most people assimilate in decades. In your words, the fire under my ass is raging. Or as I say, I don't have the luxury of despair.
  20. By now it seems very likely the war will continue for longer. Both of the aggressors have state policies for propaganda. They have definitely used each other's conflicts as part of it.
  21. I have noticed my patience for "middle ground" or "nice/generous" statements has pretty much disappeared since starting the work. Has served as a kind of a filter for others that seek truth and honesty, at the expense of "friends". Wouldn't want it otherwise.
