Jesus's story is indeed very interesting. The divine martyr that came to spread love to earth and was killed for it. You can say he failed and he didn't manage to accomplish much as violence and despair are alive and thriving 2000 years later. I watched a video that said a lot of liberal ideals like human rights/women's rights/immigrant rights are based on christian teachings so he served to plan the seed that's slowly growing. Perhaps even more interesting are the other prophets that have come to be such as Mohammed and my favorite Joseph smith of mormonism. That guy seemed more like the Schizophrenic alcoholic that convinced 34 women that it was his divine mission to fuck them all otherwise him and they would be punished lol. -
Exceptional at what? Life doesn’t all have to be about finance but there are things that matter more than others. Plenty of people are exceptional at quoting anime or collecting figurines; doesn’t make them particularly valuable human beings. @Leo Gura Why can’t you lead a hot girl towards interesting topics and adventure? Most women are quite open to leadership, they say a great woman is not found she’s created. Just need someone that’s not super egotistical and stubborn.

@Basman Has nothing to do with hype, you’re just not familiar with what’s being worked on. Not only are AR/VR systems starting to be very advanced but Brain computer interfaces are coming along quite quickly as well

I feel like the average person is broke(depending on where you get your stats, 33-60% of adults live paycheck to paycheck, even older ones in their 40s to 60s), nowhere near living a life purpose, in a non ideal relationship and with no idea where to start to improve their life. That's in the western countries, in the less well faring ones the average person is fucked. Perhaps there's a lesson in acceptance of hardship and not always seeking a better situation but still I will take the road towards exceptionalism any day.

As opposed to what other content format that is not competitive? It just gives you more options to express yourself as a creator, long form content takes a while to do so I think it empowers creators to get into content and lowers the barrier to entry.

@Basman What are you talking about lol VR has reached like 2% of its potential. Have you never watched sword art online or overlord?
-
Very cool! I have a lot of hope for medical and biotech advantages in the coming decades, should radically change our lives.

@Jannes What makes you think short form content is more addictive than long form? People have been using media for escapism since it’s existed. Why can’t intelligent things be explained in a short format? Doesn’t that make it easier to peak the curiosity of people that usually would be discouraged by hour long videos and get them to engage in the material? Also plenty of long form content is extended needlessly and creators just seem your attention for dollars.

Healthy pride is a good thing.

@Santiago Ram You can think like any stage, you’ll just see how stupid it is @Ramanujan what makes you say that? .

@Leo Gura posted this quote at the start of his conscious politics series as usually spiritual teachers don’t talk much about politics and I thought it was a political take. If we’re here to understand reality and truth then the human domain and politics/economics are ultimately a pretty big part of that. We’ve discussed politics in depth recently especially after the recent US elections but ultimately what does discourse accomplish apart from giving us a few enlightening insights here and there? I run a politics chat on Instagram and my insight after almost a year of doing so is that it’s mostly people arguing back and forth then nothing happens. I think action in the real world is the only way to put your money is and actually affect reality. I plan to volunteer in local charities that giveaway food and ultimately create my own organization around it. We have a decent amount of members on this forum and I’ve connected with an actualizer in real life and a few personally on Instagram and that’s been fun. I wonder if Leo this is something you’d like to encourage further as I know you wanted to do a book tour and other types of real life meeting. If we wanna change the world we gotta be a part of it. I’m a big reader of your blog and it’s given me a lot of high quality insights but recently it seems like just criticism of the system that almost sounds like just negativity without concrete action at this point. Food for thought

Why hate on short form content? It's just about communicating ideas in a short and effective manner. Practice it, it's fun. I post daily reels about various topics, been super fun to connect with the people that follow me and beyond. I post anything from photoshoots, philosophy, business vlogs, crypto, etc. Works quite well got up to 100k monthly views a couple months ago. This is a good video on Youtube shorts specifically. I never managed to do well with them so I'm studying up the format. It's different than Instagram since you have to learn how to capture an audience from scratch instead of relying on the people that follow you on Instagram already.

I can definitely relate to that. Normalness is not too bad, just kinda threatening. Doesn't seem like the average person fares too well in this world.

I would start to workout a lot and then it’ll be pretty useless to eat junk food as it’ll ruin your progress. Use counter leverage basically. If you’re just trying to use willpower alone that’s tough.

They think is a better idea to antagonize Israel and the US over just not making nuclear weapons? Highly doubt that
-
@PurpleTree Different situation, the soviets helped NK develop their nuclear program to help their Cold War efforts. I don’t see any rational reason for Iran to double down on this at this point in time and perhaps Israel is taking it too far but I’d call their pretence for this attack justified. Let’s also not forget to seperate the populace from the government here, the regime is holding the wider population hostage similar to Hamas and the Palestinians.

@hyruga Tech is not really convenient to use right now but it’s getting heavily worked on so it’ll be there soon.
-
That’s a wild take, they’re an authoritarian theocracy with 10% approval rating violently oppressing their citizens with not even fake elections. Their nuclear program got set far back last time by the stuxnet cyberattacks. If they’re rational and looking for peaceful diplomatic relations why not dismantle their nuclear program? Their claim that it’s for energy production is ridiculous.

I haven’t followed this thread but to steel-man Israel you don’t think that stopping an Islamic state from enriching Uranium is a valid pretence for attacking them? I know Islam is demonized by the mainstream but is martyrdom part of the faith and dying to destroy your enemies seen as honourable? I was very nervous from the Pakistan and Indian conflict escalating, glad they settled down.

Well I would question your reasons for wanting to be influencial, relevant and famous but there are pretty systemized ways to do it. I would work on social skills and start posting on social media. This book is a good start.

Marketing is sharing your message and convincing people of engaging with it. I was pondering on the Leo blog post recently on marketers being bullshitters. I’m not sure if that’s really the case; are Seth Godin and Gary Vee con artists? Perhaps it has to do with the need to convince someone or something but isn’t that just human communication with scale put into it?

I’ve only used a VR headset a few times but the first time I put one on I could immediately tell this will be the future. It’s taken a long time to take off but augmented reality is coming soon with Meta and other companies planning to release their glasses in 2027. I would see as a brand new dimension of reality to explore with new possibilities for human interaction and exploration of consciousness. I’m super excited for it.
-
@Majed I would post stuff on socials at least 5 times a week. Start with 20 second snippets of songs and work up to short form music videos and eventually perform in public. I would argue that tedious life is part of spiritual work man especially stuff like mastering your emotions and discipline so that you can eventually achieve financial freedom. It’s what I’m working on myself, fucking easier said than done too. Meditating in the wood about how you’re a multi consciousness being is one part of it but that is not truth as it’s not the reality of our existence.
-
What’s some of your takeaways so far?
-
Sounds to me like you’re spiritually bypassing and coping with not being able to find high quality partners to be able to build a conscious relationship on your terms. If you wanna go full Ekhart Tolle and bliss out on a park bench for years then more power to you but the whole point of reality is to experience duality otherwise you’d just be a floating mind thinking up random images that’s basically what the godhead is. Base humanity and the social matrix is truth just an evolving one.
