Mindfulness is trying to take the imagination out of how you perceive objects and sensations, no? And do nothing is just understanding how your awareness works while kind of purging your mind. There isn’t really a one size fits all when it comes to stuff like this, at least in my opinion. Maybe some people have a difficult time with just “being” meditation, and get better results from just focusing on the breath or the third eye. -
Anyone ever meditate in a sensory deprivation tank? I kinda wanna do this , anyone here ever try it?

Switch your meditation method. All meditation is not created equal, nor does it benefit you in the all the same ways. I’ve never been a fan of just focusing on the breath. (Pure speculation here) but I think focusing on the breath would probably increase your concentration more than anything else. Do nothing could be good for purging your thoughts and understanding how your awareness works. Mindfulness could get you more in tune with the present moment, and becoming aware of sensations/objects independent of any meaning/judgement you assign to them. Or you can just sit and be aware of the present moment. Which I find to be the least painful, and actually quite enjoyable. Sometimes I mix a little bit of mindfulness, breath focus, third eye focus or what ever in there. I find that it doesn’t have to be extremely rigid to produce results. Mindfulness, breath focus, third eye focus or other similar techniques are similar enough that switching between them feels quite smooth to me. I usually feel very present and sharp after doing this. But i’m no expert on meditation. I’m still learning, and what I said about each method is purely my own opinion. I think all meditation probably make you more mindful/aware etc. but I believe that different methods produce higher results in different areas. I’ve tried meditating many times in the past, the biggest mistake is to just keep tying the same one over and over again. If it’s painful to do, then don’t do it. I think meditation should at least be somewhat enjoyable. And the last thing I’ll say that’s really helped me is this mindset - Don’t start a meditation practice with the mindset of “I’ll do some meditation for a little while and see how it makes me feel.” No. It has to be more like “This is something I’m going to do every single day, no matter what. Without missing a SINGLE day under ANY circumstance, no exceptions. Look at it as a life style change, and not an experiement or temporary thing. Oh and one thing that definitely will happen is less suffering in general. If you stick with it long enough, you’ll naturally live in the present moment more often. You can’t have anxiety about the future/self doubt/regret/loneliness when you’re not lost in thought. None of that shit exists when your attention is completely outside of your head. -

Oh I was talking about your responses in his message you quoted. But thanks for the music suggestion

Geez dude. My life situation is very different.. But a lot of these responses apply to my life “problems” as well. I was honestly in tears reading some of these responses, thank you..

So I might be doing my first trip on Saturday. I’ll most likely be doing either 1/4 or 1/2 a hit of LSD. I was thinking about writing down a couple questions, and maybe having them on sticky notes in certain areas. Or I could just write them on a piece of paper in the room. Not sure exactly which things I want to include, but most likely things related to non duality, no self, thought etc. Would this be ok? Or should I not try to direct the trip, and let it take me where ever it wants too?

It can be pretty interesting to meditate while you're extremely tired or relaxed. I’ve had some strange experiences with this. A couple times a thought would come up, and I would doze off for a split second and the thought would turn into a dream, it was really bizarre lol. -

Thank you man. That’s some good advice. I was also going to do one to remind myself that I’m tripping and that it’ll pass or something. Naaa you’re good. It’s nice to hear the good and the bad side of what can happen. I’ll be sure to share the experience Thanks dude. - And thank you everyone else, tons of good advice in here. I’ll probably check this post out again before my trip if I get nervous, but I’m feeling pretty good about it now. -
I was going to try mushrooms within the next week or 2. After reading some of Leo’s comments in a different topic, I’m kind of afraid now. Not really trying to get PTSD from mushrooms.. Would it be best to start with something else? (LSD or AL-LAD I’m assuming, but which one in your opinion, and why?) Also if you’ve had a bad trip on mushrooms; what was your mood/setting/preparation like? Current plan: Be in a good mood Cut out stimulation a week before hand and increase meditation length Clean house/food made etc Have some nostalgic video game music on tap Incase the experience turns dark 1-2 hours of meditation before taking them start with 1-1.5g I’m kind of afraid now though. I do have social anxiety and I don’t want another psychological issue from something I’m hoping will help with my current one.

My lungs kinda hurt when I sit cross legged and do the deep breathing. Anyone else experience this in the beggining? I can do deep breathing in a chair but when I’m cross legged it feels like I’m really straining my lungs. -
Leo talks a lot about how Christianity was originally about enlightenment. Google is completely filled with other nonsense about spiritual awakening and other stuff. I’m having a hard time finding any sources on this.

Yea like I said I have social anxiety. I’m not afraid of emotions; I have zero depression or anxiety alone with my thoughts. I’m afraid of “mushrooms having highest potential to cause hairy trips” As for what exactly I’m afraid of? I have no idea, because I don’t have any experience tripping. I’m pretty familiar with no self/non duality/beliefs/thoughts. Like if it’s just an emotional thing I think I could deal with it, but if it’s like being stabbed in the neck over and over or something.. Idk. I’m gonna do the 1-1.5 but idk if im gonna go for the larger doses -
Anyone try hemp seed oil, or hemp oil made from the actual plant? What was your experience?
-
They sell pure CBD oil on amazon. You just have to look for ones made with aerial parts. If you just search for “CBD oil” they will be hemp seed oil. I’ve heard a lot of good things too. And yea I’m with you On the THC, doesn’t do much for me.

Meditation for sure.

Nvm. Found new idea!

Not sure if you’ve seen this or not. He goes pretty in depth on what you’re asking though -

You might get some value out of this. I find that the do nothing technique goes well with what he talks about. -
Recently I’ve noticed that if I watch or listen to someone a shit load I tend to kinda mimic their speech patterns. Does anyone else do this? I never realized it until I heard myself in a recording, I sound like fuckin Leo

I mean you obviously didn’t think giving him money in the moment was the thing to do, but he did. How do you determine who’s right? Nothing is actually right or wrong, perspectives are all relative.

If the ultimate goal is to reach enlightenment, wouldn’t pounding an “I” statement of any kind into your head be counter productive? I’m kinda working meditation, understanding my thoughts and emotions, my diet and other stuff like that before I really get into self inquiry. An idea I’ve been playing with is using self affirmations, something like “I’m independent of the good or bad opinions of others” or “I love and accept every part of myself” but idk.. when I start trying to elimate that “I” wouldn’t “I” statements be harmful? Or if I actually do start to love myself, I’ll be more resistant to letting go of it. Maybe I could just say phrases that aren’t personalized? What do you guys think? If I decide to do affirmations I gotta be sure, cuz I plan on doing like an hour or more a day and drilling that shit in my head.

Wasn’t sure where to post this question. Sorry if this isn’t the right area.
