  1. I didn't watch it yet, and I like Teal's stuff, but I dunno….it sounds to me like she's endorsing attachment and clinging. Just going from what you wrote, she's saying that our happiness is dependent on impermanent outside sources.
  2. @Charlotte I remember crapping my pants well over a year ago after seeing that True Hallucinations ad with Jim Carrey. Then I later found out that him being in the movie was also a true hallucination. It would have been incredible, and with him speaking sort of speaking in non-duality, it seemed plausible that he would do a movie like that. That would have opened up a lot of people's minds to psychedelics and non-duality. A movie like that, with a monster star like him in the lead role, that could honestly start another psychedelic revolution.
  3. Nothing at all wrong with meditating while driving; I say my mantra when I drive and never have the radio on. But damn, I'd feel like I was shortchanging myself for that to be the ONLY meditation that I do. How long are you behind the wheel? If it's less than an hour a day, I think it's....not enough. You are being mindful, but you certainly can't go deep.
  4. @Socrates Ha, ok I had no idea that there existed something called a Greek keyboard. I'll just stick to "ug."
  5. I would think that Vipassana with labelling would have the most "action" for someone with ADD. And I started taking L-Theanine and sulbutiamine a couple weeks ago and really love what they do for me and my meditations. They are an amino acid and Vitamin B1, so they're not drugs.
  6. Hey, how do you type the abbreviation for microgram? I've always used "ug" but I see you can type the real thing......how?
  7. @Socrates If it's a safe and private place then sure, but I wouldn't go to a park where there are people walking about. That would inhibit the fuck outta me and throw my trip off in a paranoid direction. And did you really trip for 10 hours when you did LSD before? It lasts longer than a mushroom trip for me, but not 10 hours. 7 hours and I'm back to functional where people wouldn't be able to tell that I was still slightly tripping. Have a productive time!
  8. I'm no expert, but I'd say that instead of being scared shitless and thinking about how people would miss you , you gotta surrender 100% to whatever death you're embarking on. Like what happened to Adyashanti, you have to be like "OK this is it.....and I'm ready to die." I think it's awesome that you had this experience, and hopefully it happens again.
  9. Welcome to Psychedelicsville! You'll want to get a scale for future trips.
  10. I thought about trying it, but I don't wanna mess around getting a prescription. I have been very impressed with L-theanine and sulbutiamine, though. I'm happy that you're enjoying it. You sound like a very grounded and well-spoken young dude.
  11. Wherever he is on the path, just listening to him I can tell that he's on the same one as I am.
  12. For new perspectives and to get closer to whatever it is that I am. To connect and commune.
  13. I sure as heck don't know about its propensity for enlightenment, but mantra meditation has been around since the beginning. It's the best method I've found for completely emptying my mind of thought.
  14. LOL, I sure wouldn't want a timer sounding every minute while I meditate.... I wouldn't be able to get deep enough or stay there long enough. This is why 45 minutes to 60 minutes seem to be the most popular sit durations for people. It's a good balance. Have you read much about SD sits? Go to YouTube and just punch in strong determination sitting. You'll find a video by Leo, and another one by Shinzen Young. Both good videos that will motivate you to give it a try. I find SD sits emotionally very productive.
  15. When you're quiet in meditation, you learn things about yourselves. You learn about the body and brain that you've dragged around with you since Day One, but you also learn that you really aren't those things at all. Just do 10 minutes a day for a month to get the practice started, and then increase sit times to 20 mins a day. The thing is this: the more you EXPECT things to change with meditation, the less you'll think that they are changing. You need to make it something that you do every day - not because you want to squeeze something out of it, but just because it's something you do. Results will come, but try not to look for them. Easier said than done, I know that firsthand.
  16. Ha, I like how everyone is talking about his dog. Buncha trippers!
  17. @outlandish and @Serotoninluv thank you!
  18. What would be a good virgin dose of 5meo for someone familiar with full trips on other psychedelics?
  19. @Leo Gura Yep I have been taking sulbutiamine about 3x a week. Since I feel the same way whenever I meditate, I'm assuming that it's the L-Theanine helping me the most, but maybe the sulbutiamine stays in the system long enough for its benefits to spill over into non-dosing days. Whether it's one or both of them synergizing each other, I'm beyond happy.
  20. Leo suggested it in his Nootropics video, and after some Googling and Youtubing, it sounded totally legit so I ordered a couple bottles. Been taking 400-600mg a day for about 10 days (2-3 pills, one each at breakfast, lunch, dinner times), and I have to say that there's no way the effects I feel are placebo. When I sit to meditate, I'm not only mentally alert, but my ability to focus attention on the breath is just like it was when I got back from a meditation retreat. Attention almost goes to the breath immediately when I sit. I don't have to sit and wait 10 minutes to get into the zone anymore. Man if you're into meditation, I think it'd be worth $20 to try the stuff for a month and see if you experience the same. I'm not used to supplements surprising me as much as this one did. I usually just take them because I think they're good for me, not because I actually FEEL its effects. This one is different for me. Thought I'd pass it along.
  21. You don't sound crazy, you just sound like you had a wild trip. That's a big dose! Reality is a slippery thing, isn't it? Good report. I like your dog, man.
  22. 1) Wow, 3 hours a day is hardcore, especially since you were doing only 1 hour before. Might not be sustainable since it was such a huge jump in time, but more power to you for trying. I also think that your spiritual progress would improve if you incorporate some SD sits in there. Have you done them before? If not, I bet a 1-hr SD sit per day would get you further than doing 2 normal hours of meditating. 2) I hear ya. I always check out strong emotions that surface during meditation, but if anything mystical happens, I'm not going to do anything....just go with it and keep breathing. I could easily imagine the whole experience dissipating if I were to focus my attention on something mystical as it manifests. 3) I just don't know, other than to say that very few people can sit and meditate for 12 hours straight, myself for sure included. I wouldn't think it would be very productive, especially if you're fighting off sleep, and how could you not be? If someone gave me vouchers for 12 hours of meditation, and I could use them in the way I think would be the most effective for me, I'd do twelve 1-hr sits.
