Sam Miller and Helmut (mindful gardener) recommendation

> I strongly recommend you watch these two people when trying to process trauma. Sam Miller has four videos about stages of trauma healing called gates, split into four groups: Gates 1–3, 4–6, 7–9, and 10–12.
>
> The first two stages are about the body finally rebelling against trauma-stress avoidance and forcing you to rest, which also involves fear about not being able to function in life/the world at large.
>
> Stage 3 is about the mind trying to avoid descending into the body to feel sensations. This stage is about allowing intrusive thoughts and monkey mind to be there. Any attempt at arguing back at thoughts keeps you trapped in this mental torment.
>
> Gates 4–6 are about somatic healing and release. In all these stages you need to allow emotions to be there. If not, you will remain in these gates and could possibly move back to gate 3.
>
> Gates 7–9 is when a lot of trauma is being processed and your mind feels clear.
>
> Gates 9 and 11 get into archetypes, specifically gate 11 dealing with collective trauma.
>
> Gate 12 is the individual fully clear, as nature intended.

> This description might not be completely accurate, but it's a reasonable representation of what she is saying. Feel free to correct me.
>
> The reason I'm posting this is because I feel it's a good reason (map) for people not wanting to do psychedelics. Sam has said people try psychedelics to skip these stages.
>
> I have had intrusive thoughts for years, and after hearing this, it has given me a reason not to do psychedelics. I gave up drinking alcohol because of panic attacks. So if I can't handle a hangover, why would I do anything else?
>
> Helmut (Mindful Gardener) offers a simpler version of Sam's teachings. They are friends, BTW — all his videos boil down to: allow the suffering and move closer to it.
