@Jirh True because the ego always has a survival bias. Ironically science does not understand the ego enough because IT is being controlled by the very ego it cannot understand or prove.

@Leo Gura They are making less than 10% of what they need for this investment in AGI to be considered "reasonable". Those who think AI has real understanding are completely clueless about the syntax to semantics gap. They are having a profit loss of over 90% I think. I get super annoyed when people ignore the fact that this AGI hype is a bubble. The data center surge has gone too far at the point of badly damaging the environment and the economy. I am glad more and more people are rejecting this bullshit half baked hollow hype on a house of cards.

@Leo Gura Will you ever in the future make a full on video deconstructing the AI hype on your main channel but at a deeper level that questions the notions of intelligence, understanding, reasoning, etc?

@OBEler I think he means regular use of LLMs. Good programmers will thrive with AI because they know how to use it properly. However if you are learning coding, AI can hurt your learning as you will be tempted to take shortcuts instead of actually properly studying the materials.

@Joseph Maynor True but if we compare him to other science communicators, he is the worst and has the worst fanbase. I was shocked when I first heard about his tweets. Man he will never care or stop.

I know this is a bit old but I want to address just how toxic his fanbase is as well. So around a year ago, I found a reddit post that was super long ang going over Dave's toxicity. Then he mentioned that Dave made extremely bad and anti semitic tweets in October 2023 and I think he had more of them until January 2024. Thankfully his twitter account got banned in January 2024. Link to Video: Then over 3 months ago, Dave made a response video to this. Then Norbert made a response video back. After he made the first video, he got harassed by Dave's fanbase. Then just a few days ago, he found out that one of the members in his discord server is a Dave fan and was secretly telling Dave what Norbert was discussing in the server which caused him to get harassed even more by the fanbase. It got so bad that he had to ban the word "Dave" and "box" and "boxxing" from his youtube comments. He had to delete every message that talks about Dave Farina in his discord server then make it a rule that no more dave farina stuff in the discord server. The drama was pretty intense. For reference. Norbert has just over 1,000 subscribers while Dave has over 4 million (Correct me if I am wrong). So why are I making this post? I am making this post because as a person who really cares about science and mysticism deeply, someone like him should not be welcome in the scientific community. His ultra aggressive tactics will make the scientific community look far worse than they actually are. All serious academics should blacklist him. He seriously has one of the worst fanbases ever. It's crazy that he is still getting views and gaining popularity. And since @Leo Gura you recently made your blog post about scientific gaslighting, well, Dave Farina is currently the ultimate example of that. Let more people know about his toxic side. He should not be welcome to the scientific community.

@Leo Gura Can you eventually make a video on deconstructing the myth of AI? I feel this is now more relevant as the bubble is quite close to bursting. I would love to hear your high level deconstruction of it. It seems like a perfect continuation from deconstructing rationality. I cannot tell you just how against I am on the belief that AI will become conscious. This has led to extreme AI psychosis. And you were right. You predicted that scaling alone will not produce AGI. That turned out to be 100% true. People need to realize that the AI hype is bullshit mostly and is damaging our environment so badly.

@Mel B True. I more care about the broad structure he reveals. But the political content will always be messy and hypnotizing.

People are so focused on the content of conspiracies and the epstein files rather than the root structure behind it that even allows it to happen. GOOD Questions: Structure-focused 1. Why does corruption increase exponentially behind closed doors? 2. What even do the elites truly desire the most? 3. Is the elites' survival threatened by option A over option B? 4. Who benefits from the current dominant scientific paradigm and social structures? BAD Questions: Content-focused 1. What counts as "true" Christianity? 2. Which religion is the closest to truth? 3. Was the election rigged? 4. Why is sect A more true than sect B? Structure gives you predictive power and doesn't trap you. Content-only doesn't help you that much and can be very addicting. At least with structure, you know what to do and what to avoid. Not with content only.
