Honest question: Is "being against" ... anyone, anything, any non-thing, a measure of ignorance? ... Is the enlightened against ignorance? for example.

Interpretting the semantics is counter-intuitive ( doesn't make sense ) here because "thought-free" is an unconditional negation. This specific type of experience is "not-having". It's lacking. The associated sensations, the impression in memory, the experience, occurs after the "not-having". Is there desire to feel it? Is there curiosity? If so, maybe explore this "not-feeling"? If not, it's irrelevant

inquiry ( a type of thought ) arises from the contrast.

There is no demand without thought. There's inquiry from the absence of thought.

It belongs to a category of relationships: Tension <<<>> Release. As the grass grows the tension builds. Once it's cut the tension releases. The same energetic principal can be found in many situations. It's very useful. It inspires.

You've mentioned relationships twice. You're answering your own question. After enlightenment, carrying water and chopping wood possesses eternal significance, if not, the enlightened wouldn't choose to do it.

Have you considered the difference between clarity and enlightenment?

But seriously, it reminds me of a Buddhist path: conquering the "poison" of delusion/ignorance.

In general it comes in two forms: impulse and reflex. Metaphorically it's referred to in English in the pejorative as a "knee-jerk-reaction", with no valence as a "snap-judgement", in the superlative as an "epiphany". It feels like lightning striking. It can only be referred to in restrospect.
