I am repulsed by those AI works. I don't think that using AI is wrong, even concerning deep subjects, but it shows me that you did not put in the effort to even format the text, to feel more human-like. (which begs the question, is this honest and valuable work?) I do however like the concept of trying to explain complex subjects simply, as would vikings do. This is a good concept, but feels so rushed it was repulsive to me. Even the webpage is vibe-coded.

@Davino I don't get why hedonism seems to be interpreted so shallowly. Like the pleasure and pain have to be physical/immediate. Let's suppose that he does stab himself in the leg to learn about sameness and difference of the experience of pleasure and pain. And he finds out, by direct experience. So what is greater here: the joy (pleasure) of insight into Nature, or the pain from the wound? Hedonism is not so shallow, and truth be told, I don't think we as animals could ever practice any other philosophy.

I watched a couple of minutes of a documentary about the famous North Sentinel Island. This is fucking insane. Just imagine how these people function, how they think, how they percieve the world around them. I mean it has to be so different from whatever we see. I'm 99% sure that if we studied them, their myths, etc. we would find some hero's joruney or some pattern that we can recognize, so they are not all that different, but we are AWARE of these patterns, these people live in them, are submerged in them. How do these people percieve light? Or fire, or a plane flying overhead? They are sitting in the Plato's cave watching the shadows move. (tbh we are maybe a level higher, but hell na we ain't at the surface). Their concepts have to be so far fetched from ours, I'm amazed by it just by writing it just now. This has massive implications, you can't ever even hope to percieve what the other person is thinking. You can think that people around you get you, but how can you know that they see things in the same way as you do? This is existential loneliness. No matter what, we are fundamentally alone. You can never hope to truly understand someone else.

There is a hiking proverb: "just walk" - it is used in cases when you are getting tired by the hike, and the only thing on your mind is to get to your destination. So the first instinct is to get annoyed or hopeless. The proverb aims to remind you that the only thing that will get you closer to your destination is walking, not complaining, planning, etc. There are no golden bullets for learning something, I mean there are methods, but at the end of the day you got to sit down and just do the work. No other way.

I am an undergrad ICT student, one of the best unis in my country (Poland). I also know that I am good at things that I do (for example, routing). Some time ago I started applying for internships for all sorts of positions in the IT world (my major is kind of jack-of-all-trades). I have sent over like 30 applications, and none of the companies responded. (Waiting like 3 weeks now) Is this normal to wait that long/get no response? How much skill do I need to have to get an internship, or even an interview? If you were in a similar position, share your experience! It would be a massive help to me to understand the realities of the process.

I just finished watching some documentaries on Polish Hooligans. Like Leo's police cam videos lol. Polish and eastern Europe realities are harsh, there is so much violence, conformism, drugs, "nihilism" and sick mentality. You can't comprehend it unless you are from here and notice such things. I come from eastern Europe. This is a fucking priviledge on a global scale. But please, realize and live this, if you are in western Europe you are literally in paradise. Like the Netherlands or Norway. I know that people on this forum have heard it a 1000 times, but it's just that true. I spent 2 months working in the Netherlands. When I came back it was like waking up from a dream. You cannot fathom how different life is in the east. You would be in shock about the things that pass here as normal. Still, I am super-priviledged. But if I am super, westeners are supererer.

Haha, I agree with the charm. I take pride in the fact that I've lived here, where there are struggles. I guess it grows on you. But it's important to remember that we can aim for a better reality, even if we are finding the current one charming in some obscure way.

Good point acutually. That is a mistake on my part. I generalized my experience from my stay in the west, and from travelling the Netherlands. For example, everywhere I went by bike, even in the countryside, there was a nice, even bike road. I could get everywhere by train. It's certainly nicer than what I have seen in the east. (Not even Poland, places like, for example Greece also apply). So of course it varies region by region, but I think it's not outrageous to say that on average, it is the case that the west is nicer than the east.

Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw are all great, also Poznan. They are on par with western cities, I don't mean them though. I mean eastern, rural Poland. Small-city Poland. You could say that people living in Warsaw and the cities I mentioned have almost the same priviledge as the West. Rural Poland? I would not say so.

Cool question. I tend to approach reality in both ways, like "normal" mode and "overdrive" lol Like I was talking to a friend about death. And we both said like broo what?? This shit does not matter, its all the same anyway etc. But then there is the "normal" approach (we call it "keeping it a hunnid"). So by "keeping it a hunnid" we both came to the conclusion that death is scary as fu** and we want to experience more before we die. But like, what? The both modes of operation are exactly the same. Its so paradoxical Its hard to talk about. I cant explain it. So I tend to "keep it a hunnid" to do cool shit, thats the practical mode of operation. The "overdrive" is like a fundemental truth that you know is there.

It seems to me that it is just another cope for death. You and I both will die, or at least our bodies. Are we immortal? Maybe, but maybe not. I would say better make it count while you are here.

We can see the same thing because physical laws apply to us and so the light refracting out of the item you are seeing also comes into the eyes of another person. Purely scientifically speaking. Why light is exactly this way? I don't know lol

Hey all, I am new on this forum, been listening to Leo for two years, more or less. Glad to be here with you, not as a lurker but as a poster I thought it would be cool to share with you my first profound realization of "one-ness". For a long time I took self "improvement" in a typical way - avoid this, do that - this is good, this is bad. I am glad that this was the mindset I posessed, or else I would not reach this realization. Anyways, one time it just struck me - who does say what is good or bad? Following the train of that thought I realized the profound "sameness" of each experience. I though, for example, that laying in a hospital with a broken leg is the same level of "uniqueness" and just as wonderful as running through the meadows. You only get to experience both those things once. They both constitute to the amazing game design. Imagine a game with such good graphics and sense-stimulation that you get to feel the broken leg of your character. What a banger would that be. And now I wonder - is there no going back from this? lol It's like I'm living my life the exact same way, even feeling the same way, but there is this undertone of amazement. I still get angry at the road but it's more "amazing"? Sometimes I want to laugh when someone is, for example, concerned with politics. Sometimes I am the one concerned. I caught myself pondering a car - like what the hell is this? Feels amazingly weird.
