I don't see any need to give children the best of everything, just a refuge and some basic life advice. I find normal life quite enjoyable myself. The problem to me is the bullshit we have individually. I think parents tend to be too overbearing. Looking back, I grew up to an extent living like roommates with my parents, I did my own thing, they had no interest in me, they did pass their bullshit on to me when they did intervene. I have no resentment for the independence, I adore it. I just never had a refuge, any decent direction, and had to endure their egotic manipulation or whatever. I'm under the impression that when parents provide a bunch of stuff it's often a form of manipulation, and when a kid is a spoiled brat wanting everything it's often from that previous manipulation or parents neglecting them or being spoiled brats themselves. I feel like the preparation for children, taking care of your bullshit, is most of the effort for children, toddlerhood would probably be a distraction at times. But if you both have your bullshit managed, which would include not being overbearing, I don't think children would be a hindrance at all.

Not only did women help with "provision" such as farming or gathering in tribal times, the kids did as well, there were no "taking care of children" as soon as they had fine motor skills(3 years old). Someone that won't pass their issues to the kids. Will be open to and supportive of the kids exploring their interests. Intelligent, compassionate, good communicator. Common issues could be materialism, anxiety, insecurity, fear, ego, selfishness, ... they can have these things to a degree, but be able to not pass them on, it takes awareness and work. Happy 30th!

No, no one needs kids. Maybe if you find an amazing woman that would be a great mother, reconsider. But you shouldn't sweat it. I do want kids, but I would only do it with a woman I thought was what I was looking for, which isn't super common. I have no problem with me winding up not having kids. I like helping people, that alone would be a fulfilling life for me. Trying to improve the world. Raising amazing kids to improve the world. Raising kids to give them a nice life. Practice conceptualuzing products for any little area you see a possible need. This will condition your mind to watch for potential areas for new products and it will broaden your capabilities and 'wheelhouse'. Even if you think it won't go anywhere, if you have the time and interest, explore random concepts you get.
