I actually worked with a guy that used Newman's same narcissistic manipulation technique, he didn't use it for spirituality just business. His long storied career was tumultuous and ended in flames..... he was not as bad as Newman with it, but it was the same technique. You reel people in acting like they're getting it and then a hard no on something insignificant followed by pointless obfuscation. It worked super good for him on a lot of people, but obviously when people started to catch on eventually, which many never did, everything would crash in an epic. We worked on technical stuff and dealt with people that weren't in that field. He was actually good at his job, but he craved admiration so much that it was his end, if he wasn't narcissistic he would have been very successful. Funny connection though, he called his 'crew' the 'God crew', well, he said that's what it was called, like other people called them that, they all wound up leaving him.
