  1. Looksocracy is definitely a stretch, if you framed your original statement in that exact way then it's false and they were right to oppose you. Possesing certain looks considered to be hot, would give you a lot of personal power (better quality of life because people treat you better), but in terms of actual power in the way it's generally understood - i.e. the degree of your influence on other people's lives - your looks translate into that very, very loosely or not at all. They've got next to zero effect in that regard. So yes, the assertion that society is somehow a looksocracy is incorrect
  2. I don't see anything special about him. Just another grifter, just a lot more sophisticated and inteligent, that's it. This whole notion that it's good and beneficial to watch 5000 videos about the same sort of issues is so ridicilous, just pure "consooom consooom consoom" mentality. This concept of therapy as a whole is also fairly dubious, despite some normies treating it as if it was a holy water or something. But definitely talking to SOMEBODY is important and a therapist is definitely much better option than nobody, even better than talking to some A.I. chatbot. Even neccessary for people like you
  3. I'd probably be more stoked if it wasn't literaly happening right in our backyard lol. But lunar station is going to be very usefull to us, no doubt about that. Mars missions are going to be much more interesting to me though
  4. I can see some parralels in those comparisons, yet this is not so much about discovery the way it's been for the pre-industrial revolution people. We know exactly where we're going, how to get there and what to do once we get there. It'll be a claustrophobic sucky kind of experience, you'll be in the same spaces, seeing the same people for months/years/indefinitely (depending on what mission we're talking about)
  5. It'a definitely interesting, but I don't envy the first colonizers of the latter phases of this project, and the ones participating in the subsequent colonization of Mars. Technology we currently have at our disposal do allow us to survive but it's not going to be no five-star Michelin hotel restaurant level of luxury. Every resource will need to be utilized and no waste will be allowed
  6. Ignore list is a usefull, albeit imperfect feature. My list has expanded a bunch recently lol
  7. Idk seems like a stretch, taking word of some Taliban guy into consideration. Who cares what he has to say lol
  8. If it gets approved by the senate, it'd go into effect as of January 1st 2028 in Netherlands only. Seems like it's pretty unpopular, but we'll see. But this is not the way to limit super wealthy individuals and clearly this legislation wasn't designed for that purpose. Investing might be a relatively low value activity but I'd say depending on the current pension systems mantained and promised by the state is much lower value, as you need at least 3 workers per one crusty retiree in the economy. You're also not contributing any capital towards betterment of society like in the case of investing.
  9. The way I look at it now, patriarchy is just one of those things in history that simply happened. There's this thing called "power" (loosely defined in this context as influence over other human beings) which exists whether you want it to exist or not, whether you like it or not. Men simply took over because they were in a position to do so, and it happened all over the world in all emergent "civilized" cultures, isolated and independent from each other. That couldn't be an accident, but simply a consequence of our design. It's not necessarilly fair or unfair, just or unjust, it just happened that way. And notice; the moment technology started to take over human labour, is the moment our society began to slowly liberalize. Currently, patriarchy still exists but it's on life support
  10. Matriarchy will always remain just some sad feminist fantasy lol. It is much more likely that technological progress and more general human development will make all these categories absolete (including patriarchy which is already pretty much absolete) within the next few centuries, rather than having another form of scarcity system that would have to be enforced by men anyway
  11. But yeah, if they'll actually dare to apply this one EU-wide, then that's a massive emigration motivation. This shit's fucked up
  12. Then the correct thing to do would be to make sure elites are unable to evade taxes, no? Instead of low taxes or no taxes at all. That's suppose to be the purpose of progressive taxation in general, right? Of course it doesn't work, but it should work. And all the loopholes and exploits elites use should be covered and patched. Not commenting on how realistic or unrealistic it would be, but that's how it should be
  13. Oh my God, we talkin omegacringe at this point. This aint no regular cringe, this is stage Turquoise level of transcendent cringe

  15. I don't see this as a big deal at all. Sounds like another luddite cope lmfao
  16. https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/french-owned-cma-cgm-container-ship-passes-strait-hormuz-data-shows-2026-04-03/ Seems like they already let a french owned tanker in though, just a day after Macron claimed that military operation to re-open the Strait of Hormuz is unrealistic, and that they'll pursue diplomacy (plus there are plans for military naval escorts for tankers once the hot phase of the war cools down). If Iran is this responsive to someone like Macron during a hot phase of the war, then I think eventually, it's possible they'll let European ships and tankers pass unbothered. In such a scenario, US wouldn't make a penny

  18. I see your point. Problem is, this method you are proposing necessitates some sort awareness of action/application of the knowledge - and a sense that this knowledge is relevant for you, prior to studying and learning about this information/knowledge. What if you are not aware yet of the relevance of this knowledge to you (regardless of whether the cause is emotional or practical) prior to studying it; but it ends up, in fact, being usefull to you in the ways you had not realized up until that point? Also, how do you know that you posses an accurate internal gauge on what is usefull or isn't usefull to you, when you are a kid for example? That's kinda the function of the school to lead you towards a proper path, otherwise you'd most likely just fuck around and end up stupid. Some information also doesn't really have an obvious practical implementation, and will never have; for example knowing the rules of how a certain language is constructed, you might say that it's completely useless to you personally and maybe you're right, but it's still neccessary from the collective POV in order to mantain coherency of language and thus our identity. So this is a fairly complicated topic in my opinion and there are many different ways to look at it. You are choosing to look at it mainly from the stage orange perspective, correct me if I'm wrong but I get that sense from you. That's fine, but it's limited and there's more to it. Also, there's nothing out there limiting you from doing both; you can mantain a more casual, mechanical habit of reading books AND also study what you're the most curious about or learn about what's practical to you.
  19. Nope. Just another made up shit lmfao but keep on going buddy. Make some more shit up for our entertainment
  20. Never seen so much truth and value condensed into one post! Based🔥🔥
  21. Yeah, conspiracy theories are definitely a more tricky subject than most people give it credit for. However, it is generally epistomologically safer to trust the version of truth as presented by the authorities (perceived ones or with perceived qualifications) and the mainstream rather than to doubt everything. Yeah you can do your own research on 9-11 and other conspiracies, but do you really trust yourself to posses enough intelectual and epistomological rigour in order for your conclusions to be really truthfull? And if they are really so true and the evidence is so undisputable, why wouldn't the general public be already aware of it, especially in this day and age where information are readily available? Like in the case of Epstein files that everyone is already aware of since the evidence is undisputable? I think that the odds are just stacked against you, as an individual, being more correct than the majority regarding conspiracy theories. And I'm only talking about the sociological/political kind of theories, I'm not even considering the woowoo ones that go completely against science. But when you start engaging with the more plausible conspiracy theories, suddenly you open the flood gates to all sorts of other crazy shit, which I what I think is the primary reason for the conspiracy theories not being accepted here.
  22. Never, and I genuinely don't think there's anything anyone could do to make me fight in a war. Genuinely any outcome is better than that
  23. At some point, you just gotta ask yourself if you're maybe retarded, right? Like, just think about that as an option, just to exercise your open mindedness. There's been relatively plenty attractive women at places where I worked, and there's genuinely nothing negative I can recall about them or their behaviour. Genuinely zero negative friction. You have to be retarded to think that
  24. I wouldn't mind electric vehicle industry resurgence as a result of this to be honest, but the extended grid infrastructure needed to suport them as well as battery industry and power station infrastructure wouldn't just automatically build themselves in a day. That's why that would be much more of a long term solution, the more short term would be oil rationing, new laws to limit consumption, alternative oil transport routes, adapting to cruder oil alternatives and using gas. Hopefully all these companies employing white collar workers will stop demanding these annoying return-to-the-office policies; would be nice to stop pretending like it's something beneficial, usefull or neccesary
  25. Nope. Unless you can quickly electrify all your vehicles, aviation, shipping, heavy trucks etc. then nuclear energy is not going to make any meaningfull difference. Train can help a bit I suppose, but other than that France is cooked as well as rest of us. There are ways to bypass this issue though via various means tho, so it's moreso medium - medium rare level of being cooked
