Frequency and vibration are terms often use figuratively. It is a language that I see more natural to those that are more 'kinesiologic-perceiver'. The majority of humans have a perception bias towards Vision, a minority towards hearing, and there are other perception-biases. This type of understanding has been develop in the field of education - so to understand the different ways people learn. I learned this stuff decades ago and have process a lot of related factors that goes beyond the different types of learning. So I will jump to some of my more digested and conclusive understanding specific to your question. What I call a 'kinesiologic-perceiver' is someone that is highly tuned-in to his or her 'inner-feelings' that act as an intuitive guiding system from which they navigate in the world. They feel everything, and what they feel is difficult to put into words. The word 'vibration' works for them, because it resemble to how it 'feels' or how they perceive the world. Frequency is just another word for the same thing but that can be used to provide a more detailed expression of a feeling. I think this type of language is more common among spiritual people because in that community there is probably a much higher percentage of 'kinesiologic-perceiver' than in the general population. -

Looks like you are framing the question of Good vs Bad to a Judgment of a person, an individual, or a 'self' perhaps?! One of the parameters or rule under which our world is set up; gives existence to 'conflicted wills'. The Lion's will to live conflicts with the Buffalo's will to live. Look at how this very basic scenario shows us how fundamental to this world is the 'conflict of wills'. From that realization and observation we can make different explorations. The exploration of Good vs Bad will quickly lead to the 'relativity' of this concept. In other words we quickly realize that what is good for one can be bad for another. If we are to go further on this line of exploration we will be force to go beyond the judgment of behaviors or characters. We will have to get into the more fundamental layers of the concept of Good vs Bad. If we wind back a notch, another line of exploration is about the existence of conflicted wills - which should eventually bring us to the question of an Ultimate-Will, or what could be called a Unified One-Will. And then explore how can conflicted wills emerged from a One-Will? -

Two things are going on here - one is the wish to genuinely answer the question: What do you think the point of life is? without being told what answers are tenable or not. The other is the silence of the one who dropped the question in the first place. He clearly here attempted to set up the stage for something... It is like a game of "guess what I think?". Why Shodburrito does not tell us what he thinks the Point-Of-Life is? Or what do you think Shodburrito thinks the Point-Of-Life is? -
Yes - and it is in our biology. Our biology can be traced back to the first life on Earth. Living things of every kind - microbes, plants, animals and humans - are structures that are continuously building themselves and most have a body that moves in space - locomotion. At the heart of this phenomenon we have an energy process that is called 'metabolism'. Plants metabolize energy from light among other things - as human do from what they eat. One thing all forms of life have in common is that their source of energy are not continuous. Plants on a cloudy day have less light and at night have no light, for example. Birds have an abundance of food in the summer and fall, and almost none in the winter. It has been this way since the beginning of life on earth. To answer this almost universal condition every type of metabolic processes includes mechanisms designed to not only adapt to this natural condition of life on Earth, but to also to manage itself as efficient as possible. The periods when the resources are nil are part of the structure of every type of metabolic processes. This is fundamental to our biology. When humans as a result of the discovery of agriculture, and today - compounded with global transport - we suddenly (in the big-picture of millions of years) are able to have continuous resources of food year around. So not only we can violate this very ancient rhythm BUT WE DO violate it. And from this violation chronic diseases and ills are created. here is just a few of the ills that are a consequence of metabolic dysfunction: Diabetes Obesity Cardiovascular diseases Hypertension strokes cancer All kinds of bowel syndromes And many, many others This does not mean occasional fasting is the cure - although it is very helpful. Understanding metabolic dysfunction must lead to understanding the effect of carbohydrates, especially the effect in relation to their 'quantity' on our metabolism. Fasting engenders what is called KETOSIS and AUTOPHAGY. Both can be accomplish with a proper diet maintained year around.

This I can answer from personal experience - and also I can refer to the experience of many others. The Love Which is God - foremost is AMAZING - STEPENDOUS and mind-blowing. It is incomparable and beyond any experience of earthly love. So finding words to describe It can never do It justice. When you experience It you know It is the Love Which is God, and you know that It is your essence and the essence of Reality Itself. In That Love nothing else can exist but Itself - you know by It that you are Eternal, Non-mortal, that your safety is Perfect and inviolable... And you know that there is not one soul that is not that essence, and that every soul will eventually come to fully awake to that Love. I had in this life time the great fortune of having this experience - and I was not on psychedelics. When it happened it felt like all of my insides suddenly started to melt. I felt like all of my insides had been held together by threads of pain - threads that were all the horrors of human life, animal life, earth-life, that were stored within me in some subconscious layer - holding together my insides, my guts- and they were an integral part of being a human, part of survival... ALL of THAT Bundle was deep, deep, deeper than a single lifetime, it was a bundle that was millions of years old - ALL of THAT Bundle was suddenly melting as ribbons of light were replacing my normal human vision. I could not help but sob and weep as all that ancient pain was being lifted off - and this Love was being revealed, revealing its Truth. I never, ever wept like that, it was so deep... The sense of forgiveness was Total - even Hitler is forgiven in that Love - all history of evils fades like stories children tells each other to playfully scare each other... The sense of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE is Total, total. There is nothing anyone can do to truly become separated from that Love. It holds each and everyone of us right Now - always has and always will. When you experience the Love Which is God not only you recognize It - but It is more Real than any experience as a human. It is so Real that in comparison - this human state is like a dark dream in black & white - a highly filtered state - so filtered that Reality is completely masked. Of course this experience was a paramount point in my life and just mentioning it compels me to speak on about it - but this is not the place for that , so I will stick to the topic. After this experience I came across others that had also experienced this Love; for them mostly during a NDE (Near Death Experience). In my case I would say I felt completely submerged in that Love - but I know I also just had a good taste of it - meaning that I did not 100% Merged with It as it probably would of been a No-Return event and I would not of returned to this human life. -
Great description MarioGabrielJ When I was younger I use to fast regularly, you reminded me of it...

The World that gives Reality to suffering, inequality, poverty, injustice, does have some Intelligence and a set of Laws upholding it, it certainly easy to imagine some kind of 'God' that created it, and that must be ruling it... the question is who is THAT god? It is certainly not Love and the Source of Peace. If you take the Bible for example - this compilation of old manuscripts. It is composed in two parts. One bigger than the other. One much older than the other. One is the Old Testament, and the other is the New Testament. Each part speak of God but they CLEARLY not talking about the same God. If you look close enough you will see that the God of the Old Testament is the opposite of the God of the New Testament. The Old Testament speak of a God of punishment, of revenge, ... The Old Testament is NOT messaging the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth - because for one thing it was written before his birth. ... When it comes to the word God there are nuances - to assume that a World of suffering where pure hell can be experienced is certainly not something that God who is Love could ever create. It is ridiculous to think that and insane to believe it. -

You can reduce the word Mind to being just that, a word, an invention, a conceptual invention. You can do that with every concept and every word. If you do that, if you free your MIND - sorry for using the 'WORD' - from every possible concept what do you end up with? List of ANSWERS: There is no word for that. Nothing Everything Beingness Consciousness Pure Mind Etc... To claim one word is right and another is not - is it not a completely ridiculous game? Words will always be Tools, Symbols that points to something else. They are mean of communication so that we understand each other. A word like Mind is used in hundred different ways, if we DON'T understand the way someone is using the word, who is making the error? -

... God Loves equally, unconditionally, completely and perfectly - and so do You - as any other kind of Love, such as the so called 'conditional-love, is NOT Love but hatred disguised as Love! -

I seriously asked myself this question about 6 years ago... the answer lies in part in the power of misinformation/disinformation and in part in the effect of anti-intellectualism over a couple of centuries. How much fat do you have stored in your body? If you are skinny a 30 days water fast would be harmful to your body's health. Even if you do have plenty of fat in store, a fast consisting of only water for that long is controversial body-health wise. Do your research for 'how to do a long term fast without damaging one's health". Today we have a lot of knowledge about fasting. Research it. Spiritually speaking - a 2 or 3 days fast should make meditation easier - even a 24hrs fast will do that. here is a few other possibilities: Never eat before Noon AND never eat after 6pm or 7pm - everyday and meditate every morning for the rest of your life. Stop eating carbohydrates almost completely - as in less than 50grams/day - for 2 years.

I think Consciousness as the most fundamental idea, concept, and thought - and how That which is Consciousness relates to the Universe, to Reality and to our very own and most intimate sense of existence - is ON THE TABLE not only here in this thread and forum - but in the world as we know it. I think the question leading this thread is SUPER-Appropriate to the situation which is understanding the Nature of Consciousness. To think that it has become on the forefront of scientific inquiry is mind blowing to say the least. Just understanding the distinction between 'awareness' and 'consciousness' - scientifically speaking - would lead to some of the tallest leaps in human understanding. This is not just an intellectual exercise - it is part of a collective process of Self-Realization that pulls into its gears a segment of humanity that is much more than just the seers and mystics... -

To me it is NOT Consciousness that is hiding anything from me or you or anyone else. It sounds like an explanation that can only make sense if we twist a few things. When my mind look and peer towards the unknown - "things" become 'untwisted'. If I have to twist something to make it work ... well I just don't do it; because I find that there is a way to look without these twists. And I would even say that Consciousness loves untwisting things! I certainly would rather look at this horizon or panorama under the understanding that there is some mechanism that filters the Total Potential of Consciousness. And I think exploring these mechanisms can only be a fruitful undertaking. A Great learning, a fascinating journey, ... -

"indifference" is a relative concept. You have to define two separate things for indifference to occur. In this case - in your proposition - You have 'God' and 'You' - the self. You understand and can conceive of God and You as two separate things... The Error lies in assuming or thinking that God's Mind operates the same way. Deep and long exploration on the Nature of God will show that first of all the entire field of perception is unknown to God. This does not mean God does not know You - to the contrary - it means you do not know the Real You unless you go beyond perception itself. Deep and long exploration on the Nature of God will show that WHAT God Knows is a UNIFIED Whole - undivided and unconceivably dividable. That ONENESS is also what LOVE IS - and it is a PEACE beyond human understanding. Indifference does not exist in such a REALITY - in such a ONENESS. -

In analytical psychology the Mind is divided between the Conscious, the Pre-Conscious and the Unconscious (Freud's discoveries). Furtherly the Unconscious can be divided between our Individual/Personal Unconscious and the Collective Unconscious (Carl Yung discoveries). You could metaphorically compare the Unconscious to a computer hard-drive, the Pre-Conscious to the Flash Memory, and the Conscious to the Monitor. I understand if we bring up the topic to the facts that all of this including computers are not ultimately Real - As Reality can only be Absolute to be Itself. I completely know this. But if someone is going to claim that the Laws of Physics, Airplanes & Cars are Real BUT the Unconscious is not - well there I see a serious inconsistency... It sounds like someone that is saying Reality is what is on my computer Monitor (metaphorically speaking) But what is in the Flash-Memory and the Hard-Drive is not Real! -

ICURBlessings replied to Carbon's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
How about the ''content' of memory WHEN it is in a unremembered state? In analytical psychology the 'Conscious' is different than Consciousness as you refer to it. In analytical psychology the 'Conscious' is the section of the Mind that is under the spectrum of one's awareness. When something comes in to one's awareness (the Conscious) it could be said that it has shifted from the Unconscious to the Conscious. A process to which memory is directly related. -

Basman made a valid point here when he said "... you ask what the meaning of life is then immediately dismiss any meaning making as untenable." The point of life differ between people. If you are seeking for an answer that is so fundamental that it is the Truth for All - it would have to include all the animal kingdom and plant kingdom, all forms of Life - human or not. -

Princess Arabia - there is also a reason why the practice of Neo-Advaita - and teachers such as Mooji and Spira - are very popular - and therefore have given a huge momentum to the concept of No-Mind. It is because the human intellect has been programmed in a way that increases the consciousness's entrapment in Duality - because the huiman intellect is pre-programmed to uphold and serve the ego's thought-sytem. Neo-Advaita practices leads consciousness to distinguish itself from the intellect - it directionalize consciousness towards a state that is aligned with what they call Non-Duality, but which is the fundamental state of the Mind. I personally have had a different type of training, were I have learned how to align the intellect with Non-Duality - Where verbalization act as a mean to maintain an alignment with a line of energy (for a lack of a better word) that is a thread rooted in Non-Duality to use a popular terminology - but what I like to call the Absolute. The Absolute is by definition Non-Duality - BUT we human have experiences that we call "non-duality" but that are just a mere taste of the Absolute while still anchored within Duality. Of course this would need an elaborate explanation. -
ICURBlessings replied to Princess Arabia's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Princess Arabia - your question touches right on an issue that I have been observing for a few decades. Believe it or not - it is a use of terminology that is at the very least confusing - which ends up being truly misleading. To explain this, first I need to describe to you what the Mind really is, and I trust you will recognize what I am talking about. At the very least the Mind is the field of every human experiences that ever existed. The experience of the body, the experience of the World, all knowledge ever acquired, every drop of perception that ever existed, etc... and this is the same for every non-human living being. Your experience of being a human occurs in the field of the Mind. A cat experience of being a cat, also occurs in the field of the Mind. As well to this we could also add all experiences of the soul - all experiences of the afterlife and of the before-life ... The Mind is experienced on a personal level but it is a collective field - and ultimately a Universal field of Consciousness ... Everything you have learned and known in this life is in your Mind, and also you carry beliefs, values, that are important to you, they are programmed in your Mind. Your heart beats without your conscious effort, the knowledge and intelligence that makes your heart beat is in your Mind. When someone has an allergic reaction, it is a response in accord with a program that is held in the Mind. When a child who is far from his mother, in another country, and goes through a very stressful event, and the mother has a dream and suddenly knows her son is in trouble, that seeming long distance communication occurs in the Mind. The Mind is massive, colossal, infinite! Now as a human, we have developed what we know as a language. here we are communicating in English. Anyone who is fluent in two or more languages (I am) knows that you can communicate the same thought in two completely different forms. The thought before being formed in a specific language exist in the Mind in a form that most people are not aware of. I am aware of certain thoughts before they are put into words - but most people become aware of their thoughts only after they are dressed into words. Words that completely differ from one language to another. The part of the Mind that works with words and the concepts that are related to them, is the "intellect". The intellect verbalize. When you think of the massiveness of the Mind - what is the intellect correspond to just a tiny, tiny fragment of the Mind. I think we can agree on that. For some reasons - I believe it comes from the Eastern part of the world - at one point some spiritual teachers started to call what consist of being the "intellect" - the "mind". And when the intellect would stop verbalizing, they called that the "No Mind". This has led many to believe that they actually leave the Mind - that they go out of the mind into the "No-Mind". And they seem to have no clue that when their intellect is quiet - their Mind with all its intelligence, Its Knowledge, knowing how to drive a car, knowing how to beat a heart is still there with them. They never left their Mind. It is impossible or like Leo said it is a hoax! I have been observing this phenomenon, and I have friends that thinks this way... and they seem to really believe that you can escape the Mind. They don't understand that the peace they feel when their intellect stops verbalizing is actually the Natural State of the Mind! -

Atb210201 Makes a very good point here. You can look at Narcissism as a stage of evolution or a phase representing a special kind of processing to prepare for the next stage. Labels in Psychiatry are a topic on their own. Mental Pathologies Labels are generalizations that rarely fits well anyway. Narcissism in itself as part of a personality can be not pathological. But when it is pathological it is seriously problematic. Like Atb210201 said a fundamental trait of pathologic Narcissism is to project all issues and problems onto others and never, ever consider one could be the source of the problem or issue. I grew up with an extreme Narcissistic parent and I know the traits very well. Obviously you feel valorized when you are the center of attention in a group of people - and that is rather normal. Craving it is a sign that there is something else going on. But it is not necessarily all 'negative'. Maybe you are born to be some kind of leader, but need to build some confidence. As being a leader is not about being liked by everyone at all time. Anyway you are working on it, and no matter what issue you have - we all have issues - and we all need to understand our true value does not depend on anything - it is intrinsic to the soul. All souls are deeply and profoundly Loved by the Source. And that Love means your value is untouchable by anything in this world. However this fact we all have to work to uncover it.

What you are standing against by your statement is the Elephant in the largest possible room: the Universe - I am speaking of the built-in - innate like - assumption that what is 'real' is outside of the Mind - a physical World that we perceive with the physical senses of the body - that the brain synthesize into an experience of perception - that is what most human consider without question to be reality. That is not something we are told directly - something taught in school directly. It is an assumption at a most fundamental level of the human experience. It gets to be very interesting when one begins the journey of questioning the validity of this assumption - and one fairly quickly finds out that the evidences supporting this assumption are Contextual, relative, unfounded, and which depends 100% on system or paradigm which is nothing but an hypothetical models of reality at best. While in the other hand, the evidences that are rebutting this assumptions are not only astounding in quality but also in quantity. The only certainty that exist in regard to this World that we define as Reality - is that it is a production, and a field, within the Mind. That we can be certain of. If you understand what I am saying you will realize that the experience you have been having about every element of your 'internal' mind being in 'someway' real - could be understood that if we are to give to this World that we define as outside and external, the status of being 'Real' - than - we MUST also give the same status to everything else that exist in the Mind. I am not sure this explanation will be well understood. In other words if this World is Reality then in all honesty everything that ... Happens in the Mind is Real!
