His book are worth the money compared to others. Some condensed Yoda level shit compared to all the fluff books out there. One book is 10 hours of reading but it is easily 10k hours worth of wisdom. And the shit he is writing is integral. No loose ends in his work. All of his books are integrated. That is why I like Ralston compared to other teachers.

He wasn’t coming with arguments against Ralston in the first place so I had to choice to pound into him. If he comes with arguments against Ralston I’m happy to address it.

I’m talking about emotions because emotions can cloud the judgement. You are clearly angry about something and you don’t know why. Talking about lobotomy (of emotions). If you disown your emotions you are basically throwing away pieces of your soul. That is why you don’t resonate with Ralston. Because it is emotionally hard work and ego crushing.

@Lucasxp64 most of our time goes to eating and sleeping and those other things you mentioned. When you have a mechanical body you don’t need to sleep or eat. It will give true freedom of the body. Not the fake freedom aka people who say they transcended survival but are still busy with sleeping and eating and fucking most of the time.

Personally I think in 60-80 years people will have the option to choose between a biological body or mechanical body or perhaps a mix of both. That would be an interesting dilemma. As a spiritual person one isn’t identified with the biological body, but I think it is still a difficult choice. These fundamental things will have a paradigm shift: mating/dating, procreation, survival, how we look at dna, work, friendships and so on.

Most people were not thinking in the first place. AI exposed the human condition. I think AI will cause a lot of suffering which will cause people to start thinking or in the bad case go into addiction (because they don’t want to think) which will cause suffering too. Personally I think AI is a needed disruptor. Today I was at KFC and I was thinking about the mundane soul sucking tasks these workers had to do. AI taking over their jobs would be a blessing in the sky. But the thing is most people wouldn’t know what to do as a free man or women. I think most people would prefer wage slavery than freedom because individuation is a pain in the ass. There will come a time that Leo’s job will be obsolete too. Currently AI is not good enough to write good books but seeing the AI’s progress is scary. Singularity will be insane and exciting at the same time. Personally I’m so fed up with most human bullshit that I wouldn’t mind.

Probably your ex GF triggered something from your childhood. How was your childhood and the relationship with your parents? Probably the clues are there. Any way it is a shitty situation. I was in the same boat last year and I’m slowly scrambling together from it. It is important to frame pain in the right way. You can either numb the pain or make the pain wake you up. Failed relationships can cause pain but it should be pain of growth. When in hell keep walking. Don’t stop. And lastly stop judging yourself. You treat women the way you treat them for a reason. Don’t judge yourself and keep playing the field like a smooth operator. Until you find somebody safe enough and worthy enough to open to.

After reading this book (I haven’t finished it) but you will see that all problems are self made. Especially other people’s problems, dramas, and tragicomedies are self made and it can be clearly seen. Then I realized if other people’s problems are self made then my problems are self made too. And it is much more difficult to see my own bullshit. I couldn’t see through my own problems when I looked at my problems at “human time”. Humans don’t think on long term. Humans usually think in terms of days and weeks while some very successful people think in months and years while if you really want to see through shit you have to think in infinity. Every moment is infinity. The book until now is the book of not knowing 2.0 and it is very refreshing. Reading that book prior is necessary though. I tried to listen to the book but one really needs to put all of the attention of the book to get anything out of it.

That is funny. I have to admit. But Ralston didn’t say that. It was my own addition.

This makes sense because nerds live in the mental world. Not in the physical world like women who have a good connection to their body and emotions. Although it is helpful to think archetypically. These are all stereotypes. I know women who aren’t archetypical. Currently I’m reading Ralston on suffering and he says most people are suffering because they don’t live in the physical, immediate and present. To live in the physical is to stay in touch with Mother Nature which is healing and nurturing. He doesn’t say that but it is my own understanding.
