@Rafael Thundercat Good points. I've been having some strange dreams lately myself, I couldn't consciously orchestrate them if I wanted to much less know what was going to happen

I just thought I'd share how to move into not-knowing which works great for me to have more and deeper insights. The wrong move is to think that not knowing is about pure skepticism or pretending and assuming you don't know. Instead go to a place of wonder. Wonder is the key. My reasoning behind wonder over skepticism is that wonder is a move that opens you up naturally and skepticism while useful, actually does close you up a bit. The mind might unknowingly, (funnily enough) become to narrow when it instruct it to be skeptical. You can check your body right now, to feel the difference between wondering and doubting. Try it. Take any teaching and doubt it and then take the same teaching and wonder about it. When contemplating I like to bring the subject to my attention and focus on it, but then just let go of what I already know, and observe said subject as if for the first time, as if no one else really properly understood it. A second technique to stay in not knowing is to take any conclusions, insights and inklings you have while you are wondering and contemplating and turn it into a question. Wondering is like a metaphysical calculator that you can plug anything into. Example: "Knowing is a function of firing neurons" ► "Is knowing a function of firing neurons?" "Leo is neurodivergent" (someone was sure of this at one point in the forum) ► "Is Leo neurodivergent? The third one is a bit counter intuitive, and that is to wonder about your not knowing Example: I wonder about the possibility that I'm God, I currently do not know ► "Do I really not know?" And finally, as long as your are in a state of questioning you are actively participating in not knowing. P.S. Also double check your questions for things you already know, then wonder about those and work your way back to the original question

33, very interesting indeed to see my fellows in their 30s as well

@Joseph Maynor Good example for outside of contemplation. Didn't really think about not knowing what I'll end up doing before I start dancing

I've danced to the actualized.org 10 second intro theme. I wanted to come clean and see who else has done so. Also had the thought once "Imagine someone comes home from work, upset with their life and prays for God to change their life. They turn on Youtube and someone they've never seen before pops up, it's Leo and they watch a video". What video are they watching?

I can acknowledge what this country and the chain of causation that led to right now has provided and also acknowledge that we could get more creative and cohesive. -

@Joshe Excellent observation. I didn't even think of the effect the 4th of July has on people -

That's a good question. At the very least consider them both holistically. -

What are the highest quality discussions we should be having? Is there anything in particular that needs to discussed on this forum that isn't or isn't well enough? -

This is super cool. This was mentioned actually in the Conversations with God book by Neale Donald Walsch if I remember correctly. So really I'm just floating all the time, because the ground is repelling me as well. -
It's funny I never considered myself a sports guy but have been playing soccer recently after being invited to do so. Now the guys have been expecting me to show up and wondering where I am if I miss a week. I discovered that I am still not really a sports guy nor very good. But technically I do play now. Sucking at something can suck but I do like to double check my self concept assumptions.

Similar to the photo that @LordFall posted mentioning the game of ping pong. I actually had the same insight a few days ago on a very low dose of mushrooms. "It's a game of catch, it's a game, we're playing" I understood in a swoop that if this is not happening then really nothing is happening in terms of dating/game via text. People, women, men want to play. Relationships themselves are a game if you watch closely. Entire marriages are two people playing house at scale. That is totally fine. For me, I realize if I'm not playing the game and just having a good time then I might be being too serious or perhaps not interested myself. Most people decide if they'll play very quickly within a few seconds of meeting you.

@oOo Thanks for sharing and I would have to agree, the nervous system does indeed create these meaning-feeling states. As a neurodivergent they are actually quite pronounced for me.

Before 5-MeO pretty much just gets me stoned. After 5-MeO increases for me.

Face palm at the instagram video Leo shared of the guy sharing why the Universe isn't eternal from the physics standpoint. The rules of physics not "allowing" the Truth that the Universe is eternal is just plain silly. You can see, by how your mind formulates the phrase itself. No assumptions were questioned at all. The laws of physics are not binding the Universe, those laws are products of the Universe. When you speak of the "Universe" these laws must be nested within. Physics is an artifact of existence, it does not govern the existence that is responsible for it in the first place. He's also saying that the death of stars (and for the sake of argument, the death of anything in the Universe) means that the Universe can't be eternal because this implies time as he states that the stars 'would have' burned out eternally long ago. Everything in the Universe including the stars eventually changes form in some way or dies yet the present moment itself is still untouched, undefeated and very much prior. He's placed physics before what is. He's already considering physics as Truth, and because of that he obscures Truth. He's right that physics doesn't allow something coming from nothing. Physics came from nothing. Where else would it come from. I noticed that Truth/Reality is constantly overlooked even though people graze the answer constantly. People find Infinite Regress a problem, but infinite regress is not a problem, it's the solution. We you find that nothing would be a problem, that means you found the answer, Why would nothing or infinite be a problem? It's about whatever answer the mind is prepared to handle. It's okay if 5+5=10 but then it isn't when reality comes from nothing.

Well, if you use a DMT pen, you could take small hits and see if what they feel like for you and if you want to continue. DMT and 5-MeO DMT will both invoke fear for sure, even if you've done it multiple times, it's a healthy respect type of thing. What happened on your mushroom trips?

Great example of creativity as well, is this device. Inventions like these inspire me into more creativity. What other problems could be solved completely or dramatically improved but no one cares to tackle it?

Yeeeess, you get it. I smiled when I saw the title.

I'm happy to see this post, I say this weekly. Most neighborhoods I jog through is just a bunch of dogs barking. It's like damn, take them for a walk. I spend a lot of time outside and some homes I rarely see their dogs get watched. The dog is just a hostage, which at one point served as an emotional lift/ shiny object when they first got it. My mom is little better and walks the dog shortly every day, multiple times a day, I just think she should walk him longer and further. They have plenty of energy they want to use. My current roommate has walked his dog once I believe, and it's in the house bored. Much larger than my mom's pomeranian. So much hate for cats out there, yet most of these people should have cats and maybe not that. Scratch that maybe a house plant. -

What I would want from such a platform is: People who care about and take seriously epistemology. Other people being able to help reground me as the user, in the fact that we are engaging in knowledge or knowing. A focus on creativity. It would be nice to have something that is really effective and robust for building creative capacity. Lots of required observation work. Examples include, talking to people as a prerequisite and observing what they say and do. Perhaps a user that is interested in genetics for example might observe a lot of data. Obviously lots of observing one's own thoughts.

I wanted to share what works for a mind (mine) that is ADHD and OCD (self-diagnosed) in regards to contemplation. You may try these out if you don't already. 1.) Thinking out loud Just working through the logic of something with my voice works for me a lot better than thinking alone. It also works for me with everyday problems like fixing machinery at work. 2.) Pacing Pacing helps my body get involved when I contemplate and think through everyday problems. This also works for me if I am speaking to a group or teaching a class at work. 3.) Supercharging Not Knowing with Questions My mind tends to try to land on conclusions often (knowing). To manually flip the direction of my contemplation back into not knowing I'll take that conclusion or suggestion and turn it into a question. "Truth is the Ultimate Logic" >>> "Is Truth the Ultimate Logic?" "Meaning is something I imagine" >>> "Is Meaning something I imagine?" 4.) Suggestive Inquiry This is one is not knowing for the body. Suggesting that the body is holding an answer, usually in a specific spot, implying that you don't know but could know. I borrowed this idea from Gay Hendricks and remixed it into contemplation. I also use a bit of reverse psychology on myself, and pretend to know something to see where feelings of uncertainty or lying appear in the body. "What is this reaction to meaninglessness in the stomach?" Share your own process or anything that works better than you thought it would. My list is not all inclusive of what I do.
