  1. @Natasha Tori Maru That's a sharp insight! Yes, it's holographic. Basically foreground is a selection of the background. The figure and the field go together. The background is the unlit field that is illuminated by attention and gives rise to meaning relationally. This is a really sticky philosophical knot. But what is Context??? It leads to an infinite regression. Or in Zen, we call it the Groundless Ground. @Carl-Richard Yes! context isn't reducible to language, and language is not the root of context. Your example with emotions is good. But! Is anything really being transferred? Think about it. There is this field of Being, yes? Then it's not like my anger enters and transfer directly to you about my anger without symbols, but that there is this field of Being. In that field, what we call you and me are local organizations. My anger and your feeling of my anger are just the same phenomenon arising in different relational perspectives of that field.
  2. This made me giggle haha.
  3. What is the true nature of context?
  4. The cake of consciousness and reality is massive. You basically stuffed yourself with reality lol. I felt the same exact way 6 years ago was my last mushroom and LSD trip. It was way to intense and plus I have my life purpose to integrate aswell
  5. The distinction between inside and outside dissolves and what remains is universal rather than personal. This ties into context, context not being one or the other but both simultaneously. You couldn't have a context without content. It's like our whole language system relies on linguistics and communication that is limited to words, definition or concepts rather than visual which is less ambiguous and clear or some other rather direct conscious communication
  6. All James wants is attention and validation of it's ideas. Much like a child needing someone to see them perform something because the feeling of confirmation, validation and attention is a deficiency need coated in neo advaita.
  7. Also shout-out to the forum locals lol
  8. What I love about this forum so much is that you can connect with like-minded people that are on similar paths. Also you can reference and read about other people's trip reports, very good for mapping out the psychedelic experience by fellow voyagers and there are gems, gold nuggets in every category on this forum. You can learn from other people's foolishness and contribute your voice and ideas to a tight community.
  9. Okay now were talking. Good stuff, seems simple but approaching the overlooked obvious from an epistemic foundation of questioning and investigation reveals a huge gap in our awareness and understanding. Now the question is, what is this background? Also the foreground cannot be without the background, and vice versa. Now we're talking non duality. The union of separation and unity. If Context metaphorically is the background that determines the foreground, then what can determine the background or context?
  10. The ultimate context is consciousness itself. But it's not what you think, Consciousness is not a thing. It's not even the idea of Nothing.
  11. @UnbornTao that's a beautiful interview video. Context is so important
  12. Context is the entire web of existence! There is no outside context, it's the whole game. You are part of it, your not separate looking at it. Context is a field, a massive web of infinite possible distinctions all in a impossibility space if that makes sense
  13. I did edit that response, you beat me to it lol. Yes I agree
  14. That's still within an experiential context, the sound and the feeling, or the slap and the sting. It's context dependent on their being sense organs to experience a slap, sound, feeling and sting. A context doesn't have to be a story or many stories, it could be the unnoticed background that hums of experience
  15. Thailand would definitely be great per I would cut the skateboarding and just stick to kickboxing and Muay Thai out there. But also I'm very skeptical of the lady boys that are out there lol
  16. I like that! My kind of place to live
  17. 😂 I hope there is context for that. But imagine having an experience with zero context, that would be the ultimate mind fuck
  18. I like that, the holographic universe.
  19. We think and talk through a fractal labyrinth colored field of any possible context, but what is context itself for itself?
  20. @Natasha Tori Maru Let's imagine a gun to our heads, lol for shits n giggles. What is context? Am I thinking about this correctly? What am I missing in my inquiry? Am I thinking about this properly? Any image, ideas or ways of explaining the true nature of context is within a context. Dannmm.
  21. It's not wrong but there is a philosophical tension here. It's a model of context but, a way of looking at it but doesn't pin it down. It's a context dependent frame of looking at context because the context depends on epistemological perspectives, frames, space ect... It does reflect a perspective of context but doesn't necessarily grasp the essence of Context. It's a contextual statement, therefore not any final truth about it.
  22. Thanks, it can feel disorienting and scary when the body starts vibrating, getting gnarly bowl movements and feelings of being pushed, birthed or something brushing up against my skin and not knowing how to reassure myself. I knew intuitively that it was from the kriyas and pranayamas but it's hard to believe when it's actually happening. I would get strong urges to connect with big cats like jaguars, panthers and others. My body would feel like a wild cat and I needed to move freely and authentically instead of the usual way. Also a lot of rage and bluntness in my attitude was spiked, like I have a low tolerance for bullshit, games and deception. I will continue to do these practices, and stay open and humble.
  23. @Leo Gura where you at? Sort this mess out
  24. Be careful not to fall into asserting that Truth will reveal itself to you at death, because death is the end of you. Your spiritual path should only be a pursuit of the Truth and nothing else, your survival is used as a means to an end to make sure you are safe to contemplate existence and have breakthroughs in consciousness
  25. Context are the masks of perspectives, a play of unique experiences of experience
