From what I understand, he is saying the telos of reality is directly intertwined with its complexity. Without nested order, you cannot have evolution. Evolution happens within one's own life, and as a species, so if you believe the relative is a microcosm of the absolute then ontological and spiritual evolution becomes a necessity. If one believes the unifying substance or substrate of reality is some form of matter, then I can see how one would come to the conclusion that evolution is purely a precipitate of biology. What nonduality doesn't fully articulate is that the universe has to be structured in a way that is top down, and bottom up, at the same time. This is how order and complexity are tied to telos.

Big cope to talk about accountability when you didn't want to answer my question and explain yourself. I believe most see Langan's spiels as over and the top and ridiculous, largely stemming from him assuming many of his terms don't need to be defined (this could be intentional, as in "It's not my problem if you don't understand it"). Although he always simplifies if the interviewer asks or their question requires it. To people without this barrier of entry of vocabulary cleared, it can just sound like a dense word salad like "Consciousness emerges from gravity as a tertiary order of the telonic ethos". Like a guy explaining how cars work to his girl that didn't ask. And I won't dismiss the value of simplifying ideas - not doing so can genuinely inhibit communication, but his audience is definitely more people that are comfortable with creating logical systems from scratch, that have functionality, even if we don't know it is ultimately true. What evidence do you have for angels and demons not existing? Lack of evidence does not mean something is automatically not true.

Exactly. Compared to God's intelligence any deviation among humans is effectively nothing. Was actually just thinking about the topic of ant consciousness yesterday. There was one that kept coming close to me on my bench, I would act threatening with a rock towards it and it would scamper away, only to come dancing back proudly seconds later, as if teasing me. Yes I spared him haha. But the question of to what degree insects possess rudimentary consciousness and intelligence is a good one. I tend to think that we downplay their intelligence because we are using human metrics.

Nothing wrong with being conceptual at that high of a level. However, my main difficulty with him is along these lines as well - It's easy to confuse having a working logical system with having an actual descriptor of reality. Do I think he's right on many levels? Yes. Describing the interaction between energy and information as a meta framework is not total bullshit. But could it also be just a very complex and interconnected theory? Absolutely. I mean really, who are any of us mere mortals to say. It's not like us idealists are superior for understanding the same things he says but in a significantly less intelligent way. The point stands about an extremely high functioning mind being valuable to study. 37:00-38:00 is a particularly good insight for Leo's followers. Leo's wording tends to be something along the lines of "Infinity is so unlimited and unbounded that in order for finite reality and relativity to exist, constraints or limits have to be applied by your higher self" (feel free to correct me if I'm steelmanning). What Langan says is something a bit different, that total unboundedness would not even give you the precursor for any qualitative conditions. The sharpest intellects in the world such as his are able to "peek under the hood" of any idea and reconstruct it in higher definition.

Science and spirituality do not negate each other when applied properly - in fact, you shouldn't have either too much science or too much spirituality without having the other. The two compliment each other in that science without metaphysics is self referential atheism, and metaphysics without science is self referential idealism. If you fall into the first category, get some first hand experiences with meditation and psychedelics. If you fall into the latter, you need to study quantum mechanics and tighten your logical recursivity. Being a human is all about balancing the different tectonic elements, without doing so you run the risk of partiality and self reference.

Music is both an illusion comprised of individual frequencies and a voice that is sung from the heart, hearing the entire line, simultaneously. It's like unraveling the illusion of life - anyone is free to unravel it, but life exists for its own sake, as its own end goal. That is to say music exists primarily at the foundational level of perceivability in the same way that the universe exists as a function of perceivability. When it comes to writing music, all music is God writing music through you, yet this actually doesn't negate your free will. Absolute will and individual will intersect in tandem yet function independently. In simpler terms, the unpotentiated infinite will of the universe channels itself through you in a way that still gives you decision in every moment. Knowing this alone doesn't make you an excellent musician, using it to go beyond the confines of an established technical mastery does.

Psychedelics just remove some of the limitations your mind has placed on reality, so yes they bring you closer to unlimitedness; but how do you think limits could exist without unlimitedness governing them? It's impossible to explain, but once you see it everything just has this infinite quality to it. I got my clearest awakening in a dream where I basically just slipped out of the matrix into an infinite void - imagine being able to see infinitely far, only you can actually perceive the distance all the way, as if the filter that normally blocks this has been removed. The fact that this one glimpse gave me such a connecting thread for everything I have subsequently experienced is proof alone. What I'm really getting at with this is not only that you can perceive the infinite at all times but that God is epicly good, so good that it breaks the standard human notion. You really would not believe it. You already are the infinite perceiving itself, you just have to be smart enough to not succumb to your own illusions so you can see it more clearly. If you're lost and feel like you can't see it that's just what the infinite is doing at that moment - the situation is that you are swimming around in circles trying to plumb the well of your consciousness in 3 dimensions when it was in 4 the whole time.

Everything Terence McKenna said about the DMT experience is spot on. It's basically a friendly jester that likes to play rough. This can be easily misinterpreted as malice at first.

My main gripe with the whole "I died and went to heaven/hell" thing is that these people say they truly died, if you truly died then how did you come back? I feel like when you truly die beyond the possibility of coming back is when you would truly experience what happens after death - anything else is just a coma like state where your brain is filling in the gaps because it's saying "insert scene of what we think happens upon death" I'm not saying I don't explicitly believe in NDEs, or that these people didn't experience what they experienced. A lot of them put out Oscar level performances if they are lying. For me, just the possibility of hell is enough to get me on my good side and grow my relationship with God. This is a very interesting topic for me at the moment, what are your guys thoughts on the validity of NDEs and their apparent corroborating evidence?

I think it's very batch dependent, but I have a very high tolerance to all substances so it usually takes me 5-6 good tokes to break through. Basically I just keep going until I physically can't anymore (takes some commitment lol). I think 3 is a pretty good rough estimate for most people though, none of my friends have ever broken through on less than that. Obviously a breakthrough is something you want to work up to though, don't jump straight into the deep end. Crack pipe/vaporizer is definitely preferable to bong method, but it still works if you have stoner lungs. As far as keeping your eyes open/closed, I always close them as soon as I exhale the last hit just because of the intensity but I also have friends that tweak if they close their eyes. Also if you press on your closed eyes fairly hard you get way more visuals, I'm not sure why but this can give you visuals even when you're not on any psychedelic. My theory is that the visual tracers some people see as they're falling asleep is just dmt being released in very small amounts - they both have the exact same dark neon, translucent quality.

They will broaden your perspective on your situation, but don't think that automatically translates to a positive experience. What I find when I do psychedelics while going through a lot is - you may experience a positive reframing of your mentality, you may also experience a panic attack so much worse than anything you've experienced that it also recontextualizes your day to day anxiety as something much more manageable and less existential. Either way you definitely get what you need out of it.

Second this, I gave myself bladder damage using it. An occasional dose is no problem, you run into issues when you dose too often because your bladder can't process the byproducts fast enough. I will say, it does genuinely break you out of depression faster than anything else and your cognitive capacity is definitely increased; that's what makes it so enticing and dangerous.

Basically there's two versions of nn-dmt, salt and freebase, freebase is for vaporizing and salt is for soft tissue absorption (snorting, boofing). If you're going freebase there's a few options, I usually go with carts because they're most convenient, but if you prefer to get everything in one hit to bypass some of the come up anxiety you can just weigh out your freebase dose and sprinkle it in a bong on top of some weed so the powder doesn't fall through - just be aware this method can be harsher on your lungs and the smoke is much harder to hold in. I've heard of people using crack pipes and vaporizers if you can't handle holding in weed smoke for 15 seconds. If you wanted to boof, I'm sure it would be way stronger and cleaner as the mucosal tissue there is much more bioavailable than smoking for any drug - I haven't tried it, but what you want to do with any substance is dissolve your dose in a small amount of water (in the ballpark of 2-10ml depending on dose), collect in a syringe and then anchors away. Leo has a vid on that somewhere if you want to get technical. Just make sure you understand Salt = boof and Freebase = smoke so you don't injure yourself.

I am a chronic user and I only find it to increase consciousness - it's very individual however. I've known people who took a 10mg gummy and felt like they were dying for 5 days - for me, I only get positive and creative insights on it. But this has only been after a long and rocky road of mental health issues and schizophrenia, not caused by the weed, but catalyzed by it. After overcoming these mental health issues I've realized weed can be a very positive tool if you have your shit together. Just be careful with it, as I've experienced both sides, and it can be hard to admit when it's actually doing you harm.

It could be that NDE is just a transitory stage before the real deal. But I get what you're saying, no dreams have more reality than others. I think whatever is manifesting reality is buried far beneath the human conscious mind. It's a terrifying thought to think that my own consciousness could potentially lock me in hell forever.

This is exactly the problem. Even if NDE survivors truly did visit a hell or heaven realm, who's to say it wasn't just a hallucination. After all, they did come back so I think it's safe to assume they didn't cross the final threshold. I think it might the same thing with 5-meo-dmt - the vividity of an experience does not mean that is the actual afterlife. However, I still have to try it for myself and I think you should too if you want these questions answered. It might not be legit, but you can't know until you try for yourself. One thing I can't help but think about is how Christians most commonly report visiting the Christian hell, Buddhists report visiting the Buddhist hell, and so on. Not that there aren't videos of atheists etc. visiting the Christian hell but the fact that this discrepancy alone exists discredits a lot of NDEs. (edit just found this) - Maybe he had the archetype of Christ stored in his subconscious from when he was a kid, still it's a very good counterargument to the above paragraph. But the fact that Buddhist NDEs even exist says a lot. I think it's a safe bet to live morally, virtuously, and by God. Yes, not only because the threat of eternal torture is so horrific but also because it's just the right thing to do. The purity of your heart and mind matters, even if we don't know what happens after this life.
