  1. @Leo Gura I was hoping you could elaborate on something. In the 7 Pillars of strategic thinking video, pillar 4 is concentration of force: hitting the enemy where they're weakest, find our own weak spots, find the areas where we have the most leverage. Question: Does finding our 'weak spots' mean targeting the areas that are going to make the biggest difference in our lives? For example, building a business and leaving a full time job is something that will make the biggest difference in my life. Question 2: Or does finding our 'weak spots' mean targeting the areas where we're weakest? Question 3: Or does finding out 'weak spots' mean targeting the areas where it's easiest for us to generate results relative to the work put in, like high-leverage activities The reason I wanted to check this is because, all these areas that make the biggest difference in our lives like building a business etc, are typically the areas where the enemy (our own mind) is strongest rather than weakest? e.g more resistance, limiting beliefs, and these are typically the areas that require more discipline and work ethic etc? thank you

  3. @nhoktinvt thank you for the reply i appreciate it. So if someone had a few weaknesses, let's say their biggest weakness was that they were addicted to heroin, and then they had a minor addiciton to gambling, and they also had a slight problem with splurging all their money. In this sense, their weakest spot would be the thing that creates the most destructive behaviour and that makes them the most psychologically weak, in this example it would be their heroin addiction. That would be where they concentrate all their forces, to remove that first? Even though it might be the most challenging to remove, they attack that first because that's the thing that makes their mind the most weak?

There's two things I want to cut down on: listening to music, and masturbation: I don't have a particualrly strong addiction to either, I don't spend a ton of time on them each day but I find that they can be a crutch for me at times for procrastinating on work etc, so I want to remove that dependency I sometimes have with them. I find it easy to remove addictions by going cold turkey like I did with youtube, but I'm not interested in no-fap whatsoever, and I also don't want to go cold turkey with music. Personally I don't know any other way to remove an addiction besides cold turkey Like if i was trying to reduce eating chocolate cake, it wouldn't work for me to say "I can eat x amount a day but I have to wail til 6pm to eat it". I'd just spend the day thinking about when i get to eat chocolate cake at 6pm. In summary: I don't want to go cold turkey, so i'm looking for a way to reduce them, but without it feeling like i'm restricting myself and making me want to do them more Would appreciate your input thank you
  6. @Leo Gura thank you I appreciate the reply I definitely think that’s true, as I’m starting a business at home and on days where I’m really busy, i'm focused on other things so I don't really think about masturbating at all Out of interest, like with music, do you think it would work to temprarily quit masturbation for like two weeks or a month? I can foresee that permanent no-fap would be a mistake and probably lead to a lot a lot of frustration, sexual repression, shame etc, but i'm wondering if quitting it for 2 weeks or a month and then going back to it would lessen the addiction, and allow me to use it in a healthy way?

  8. question 1: Is it necessary to use distilled water with evaporative humidifiers or can tap water be used / filtered water through one of those brita jug things) question 2: if a humidifier has a capacity of like 3litres, is it mandatory that you fill the 3 litres of water, or can you fill it up less? question 3: on evaporative humidifiers (probably will be using wick filters), do the filters need to be cleaned like every 3-6 days, or is it just a case of replacing the filters every 30-60 days without having to clean the filters between that time? thank you
  9. i've purchased vitamin d3 and algae oil recently, and these aren't cheap brands either. i've just noticed my algae oil has high oleic sunflower oil in it and i've noticed my vitamin d3 has maltodextrin in it. Is that normal to have bad ingredients like these in supplements, where the quantities are so small that it's irrelevant? Or is this bad and I should avoid? thank you
  10. I want to start taking turmeric again, but i've just been reading about all the heavy metal contamination. Does anyone know any brands of turmeric supplements in tablet form, that are free of heavy metals? I hate the taste of turmeric so i'll need to have it in tablet form thank you

If a buddhist monk or other englightened person was walking through a really dangerous neighbourhood: 1) would they feel scared about the possibility of being attacked? 2) if someone actually approached them aggressively and seemed like they were going to fight/stab/shoot/rob the monk, would the monk feel fear in this situation? (assuming the buddhist monk wasn't trained in any martial arts etc) I know fear is a very natural human response but I'm trying to work out if fear in these situations can be removed through mind control, enlightenment etc
  16. I have really healthy nutiriton habits in place, but one food i'm unsure about is red meat. I eat a high quality ground beef, i have it for 3 meals every 4-6 weeks. Should I avoid it altogether? If it's one of those foods where it's 'harmless to have on occasions' but still sub-optimal, then i'd rather avoid it altogether. thank you

  18. Don’t know if he definitively is the more viral man on the planet, but seems that way to me at the moment. I probably came across one of Andrew Tate's interview a couple of months ago like most people, I probably watched a bit of it, and then turned it off. Over the past couple months, i've been scrolling past more and more Andrew Tate youtube shorts, without watching them, but I think he’s just been building up more and more in my subconscious mind. I don’t even remember consciously choosing to watching a video, but I did at some point last week, and since then I’ve been watching more and more without even fully realising it. It’s a bit of a blur, somehow got sucked into this Andrew Tate rabbit hole. And I’m now I’m so fascinated at the moment by him. To be clear I’m not sitting there all day watching his videos, but I’ve seen enough over the past week to build up a bit of a view on him. I do agree with some of his principles, not all, but some. There’s the obvious one like his misogynistic views. Not all of them are wrong, definitely some, but I find it strange the way he goes about it, like many PUAs do. His confidence is an interesting one. Because on one hand, my intuition is that he actually is very resilient, which is a huge part of confidence. And I also don’t think he really gives a fuck about being cancelled. But then at the same time, I also get the feeling that he has that very fragile sense of confidence that many PUAs do. Where they have situational confidence. It’s not real confidence, they don’t really love and respect themselves, they just have this kind of functional value. And if you take them out of that setting / take their success with girls away, their confidence crumbles. Which very much seems to be the case for him, without having money or women I feel that his sense of identity would crumble. However, because of the aforementioned resilience, I also think he kinda wouldn’t give a fuck. And so even though he’s someone that is extremely misguided and flawed in many ways, and lacks a lot of integrity and many things I dislike about him, I actually like him and also find him entertaining. I think this is a good lesson for life. When you go through situations, rather than judging and complaining and picking holes in something, it can be powerful and make you feel much better by looking for the lessons and benefits from that thing and leaving all the negative behind. Which is what I do with Andrew Tate, although most of what he says isn’t groundbreaking, there’s still a lot of useful information to be taken. And then the bits that I don’t like and disagree with, I take a look at whether i’m doing any of that in my own life - a lesson or a benefit either way. One thing I just thought of as I’m writing this: I’m in a bit of a bias position. Not to brag or anything, but as someone that’s been studying self improvement for a long time, successful with women and consider myself to have developed a lot of emotional mastery, it’s very easy for me to distinguish between the parts where he’s talking shit and the parts where he’s giving useful info. And so when I think about a 20 year old who isn’t really into self improvement, I can appreciate how he’s misguiding a lot of people and why a lot of people want him gone, especially women. I’m sure there’s a ton of extra shit that’s not great like him running a pyramid scheme etc, I’m not really speaking about everything here, and forcing an argument of whether he should be cancelled or not, I don’t really care either way. Just sharing my view that he’s someone I find entertaining and someone I like while disagreeing many of his views, finding him cringy, rude, and seeing him as a man that has a lot of aspirational qualities while also being deeply deeply flawed.
  19. In the past i've always thought i'd have kids at some point in my life. After studying personal development, I've never wanted kids more that I currently do but I've also never wanted kids less than I currently do. My main reasons for wanting to have kids: I'm so excited about the prospect of teaching my kids everything I've learned in personal development and teaching them how to create an extraordinary life. I really feel like i'd be doing an injustice to the world. I love the dynamic of a 5 person family rather than just 2 people. I feel like in my 50s and 60s i'd really regret choosing to not have kids. My niece and nephew bring me so much joy so I can't imagine how strong the joy would be with my own kids. My main reasons for not wanting to have kids: It takes up so much time, I didn't realise until I witnessed this first hand with my niece and nephew) (although they're toddlers so I have a biased view, I tend to think of parenthood as requiring that much attention forever: like changing nappies, having to feed them, bath them, and that whole process that takes hours each day) I do feel like I'm a very naturally selfish person with my time, I like to do what I want when I want and i love having that freedom, This includes travelling to different countries, just going for a walk etc. But also having time to meditate, relax, do lots of leisure activities, be able to put in all the hard work for my business, time to read books and continue personal development. thanks
  20. I've began to look back through my childhood to work out where my fears, insecurities etc stem from. I've discovered some really minor events, and a couple of moderate sized events that have shaped my psychology. For example, when I was like 13, i had a group of friends I was close with at school, I was pretty popular up until this point, but after losing touch with them (my choice to distance myself from the group and play xbox) I then spent about 2 or 3 years trying to get close to them again and it didn't really materialise. So about 13 years later, I've realised I have a fear of rejection, I care a lot about what people think, insecurities about being unpopular, I feel like I keep a guard up with a lot of people in social situations, and I can be pretty quiet. So my question is basically: I do already feel a bit better from uncovering this from my childhood, but I'm wondering what the next step is? Do I just change how I interpret the situation? Do I begin challenging these limiting beliefs? Is there anything else, and in which order would you recommend please? thanks
  21. Firstly, which colour of spiral dynamics does passion fall into? Specifically i'm referring to passion for a career or life purpose. (ignoring the contribution component for a moment, and just focusing on getting into flow states and being passionate about cultivating a craft) For example, Joseph Campbell following his bliss by going into the cabin in the woods and reading books for years. Would this be green, I wasn't 100% sure because he's not caring about helping humanity at this point, but then again he's not reading books for any materialistic gain. Secondly, for people that just get a slightly above average job, in the U.K say like £40-50k , working in a marketing role or something. I wasn't sure if this would be orange or blue. It's not like they're hugely career driven like investment bankers looking to make 6 or 7 figures, they probably just see their job as a means to pay the bills. However they probably still have some aspirations to increase their salary over time, it's not like they're working in a coal mine. I'm not really sure where the line gets divided. thanks

I'm confused on whether Leo is recommending that we use the satisfaction meditation technique (keep eyes open and try to be satisfied with the present moment) or whether it's recommended to use a normal meditation technique and try to include satisfaction into the meditation technique. For example, if I'm using the do nothing mediation technique, am I meant to bring satifaction into the do nothing technique? As opposed to completely dropping the do nothing technique and completely changing to the satifaction technique thanks
