  1. @jimwell I agree with you, and there is also another variable, the space within in which you listen to music. If you listen to it intently with mindfulness the result can be very different. certain types of music i think are high vibration, you need to listen mindfully to feel the energy, its quite amazing. Here are some examples of what i think is high vibration music:
  2. Yes, it might be a desire to control others, but I don't think it has to do with race. The west seems to me largely at the modernist stage of development. I am thinking that at this stage there is little reflection on societal norms and constructs, so they become absolute, so when they see a country like Iran they are appalled by it and they don't understand it, so out of this misunderstanding, demonization happens and the rest follows. This explains why western countries are serious supporters of Israel, they can relate to their views of reality.
  3. I think it would be useful to talk about these disorders and their treatment from a personal and spiritual development standpoint. Question Do you think these disorders manifest from core psychological and spiritual issues that one can become conscious of and work through, Or are they more elusive coming from genetics and imbalances in brain chemistry? (This question is for those of you who suffer from mental health issues and for psychiatrists who have experience in dealing with this type of psychological manifestations.) My Background and the Issue that I am facing The issue that I am facing is that I am on an anti-psychotic medication and I suspect that it acts as a suppressant to reality and consciousness. I have been stable for the past two and a half years, and the last lack of stability came from traumatic events that I had and myself trying to work through those traumatic events. The driving force I think behind my mental breakdown 5 years ago or so came from a specific trauma that I was struggling with, and that I think that through the course of time I have worked through a great deal. However this goes against the talk of most psychiatrists that I met mentioning that this is a chronic disorder and it is currently dormant and under control. The psychiatrist community seem to have biases and most psychiatrists I dealt with are lacking in understanding of the human potential, and I cannot find a psychiatrist who does understand human potential. I am hoping for a discussion to share experiences, insights and resources about these issues
  4. @Breakingthewall How do you free people from their oppressive governments? The united states does not do that well. Iraq for instance was sent back a hundred years after the west intervened in their affairs. Oppressed women in the middle east, for the most part do not know an alternative life style, any positive change can be brought about gently bit by bit, not by bombing the shit out of oppressive regimes, this move is oppressive in itself.
  5. @Keryo Koffa Yeah I resonate with this. The question for me is how deep does the rabbit hole goes. @Hojo Thank you that is deep, I do see it now to some extent, and it does make sense that shit talking relates to paranoia and weird thoughts. Something opened up thanks Hojo.
  6. I have noticed within myself that I have a deeply premodern heart and my other faculties are higher than that. It makes it very difficult to make changes it seems that I am split and so contradictory, do you have an advice on how to navigate that? I was born in a deeply Muslim society.
  7. Science dismisses the schizophrenic perspective as invalid, and the brain chemistry of someone who is schizophrenic as wrong based on that it is uncommon and that it is disruptive to the functioning of the society. Imagine a society that is filled with people who are are schizophrenic, and someone there is not, using the same scientific attitude they would treat that perspective as invalid. I think that the common scientific attitude is not able to reflect on the surrounding culture very much, this is why it falls into these types of errors.
  8. @Nilsi Thank you for sharing! I like your post, you put the issue I was having into words. At first I was agreeing with you that the transcend and include logic implies a negation, but this is not necessary. Your angle casts a doubt on evolution as a grand narrative, but I don’t see how the transcend and include logic implies a negation.
  9. I see a lot of people around me (living in the middle east) who are living their lives normally not interested in spirituality, most of the one's I see are premodern and modern ways of thinking. Very few people are postmodern in the middle east. If I see someone who wants to wake up he is usually in a modern point of view. There is no one around me who is post modern or beyond. My ego is running rampant thinking it's better than others. What's going on?
  10. 1. I don't agree that they are either real or not real. An example would be that you want something and that you don't expect to get it (Why?), A miracle would be to obtain the will and resourcefulness to go get it. 2. If you expect that you will be in awe by doing miracles taught by Leo your mistaken. This strategy will not work well, because if for instance Leo teaches it to you and to others then it will not leave you at awe because everyone is doing it. 3. The last thing I want to say that is that I think that you already think that miracles are not real, because if you did think they are real you wouldn't wait for Leo to teach them you would go look for them. I think that miracles are real, they do come, if you are not attached to the thing that you want to get.
  11. To orient oneself towards Truth one needs to observe his thought processes and that which observes these thoughts to get rid of the identity imbedded in thoughts. I am talking about the identity that doesn't want to see what is. An identity that has biases, that has agendas, that does not see. I will share some of the things that Characterize this Identity that I observe and that you might relate with: Hedonistic, fixated on thoughts, emotional turmoil (type of Identification), random (many different directions), foggy, dependent, picky, lacks acceptance of itself (rejecting oneself completely), narcissistic, doubtful, thinks something is wrong with it, selfish, fears rationality, fears thinking, fragmented...… What is this identity that prevents one from seeing? How to become more serious? How to be free? How to heal myself and others around me and move into my purpose? How to understand Truth, stop wanting it stop needing it just being it.
  12. @Razard86 Thank you that was illuminating and tough to understand ! @gettoefl I choose love, although it is difficult because the pity I keeps creeping up. @Princess Arabia Can you explain this more? I see that showed lack of concentration in the post
  13. Hello Everyone, I am new to this community . Here is my reflection on Reason and common sense. Let me know what you think! Reason is a general principle by which God operates. Common sense is certainly not Reason. A part of a whole, can have an access to reason recognized and seen through the eyes of common sense. If this is the case then How can common sense be refined? The majority is an indication for common sense but is it an indication for reason? Not necessarily because the whole can be deluded. How can then one verify whether the whole is deluded or not, by expanding the whole to include more. What if the whole was infinite? Here a part of infinity is still infinite so in this case things are different where reason recognizes itself as reason. Then what is the orienting principle between two perspectives? You postmodernist cu**, I got you (talking to myself )! it is not your role to “orient between them” but it is your role to go so deep into a perspective that you pull out the truth in it. So is there an absolute truth? The way a perspective functions produces truth, so I think there is.
  14. I feel the importance of having a Conscious direction in my life. I find it difficult to sustain, it usually disintegrates to something else like selfishness, rituals and so on.
  15. I can relate to this, because I struggle with mental health issues. I notice in the spiritual communities there is a wariness towards psychiatric medicine. I can see where it is coming from, but in my experience they helped in stabilizing my mind, which allowed me to pursue spirituality in a more sustainable way. therapy such as psychanalysis might help you to show up to your daily responsibilities, and possibly creating a somewhat healthy structure. however from my point of view there is one issue with most of the psychiatric community, which is that they don't heal you completely, they try to heal you so that you are functional and that is it, the rest is up for you. regarding the spiritual practices, some spiritual practices destabilize the mind more that others, so you can experiment with that. finding the right dose of medication for me made all the difference, (although it might dull the perception) it gave me a stable mind, so for instance before finding the right dose, contemplation made me lose this stability, now I rely on it heavily. hope this was helpful
  16. I can relate because I had social anxiety too, what helped me with that is therapy and exposing myself to new social situations. when you become more conscious you become more integrous.
  17. suffering makes the ego feel good about itself, you can stop suffering simply by deciding not to
  18. @Rilles a beautiful question, very trippy
  19. @Someone here I have an experience with insanity, I was diagnosed with a mental disorder quite recently, in my experience the border between sanity and insanity is crossed when I lose the ability to discern what is valuable and relevant to me, and I think this relates to conscience.
  20. There is the 321 shadow exercise talked about by ken Wilber
  21. I find that it is difficult to transform my thoughts into reality do you have any books to recommend on this subject? how can I close this gap?
  22. @Preety_India I agree. usually what attracts attention is radiance, women know when they are radiating. ken wilber talked about this in one of his books There is egocentric radiance, where a woman radiates for herself not caring about others, maybe kinda like Regina George vibe There is ethnocentric radiation, where a woman offers radiates her beauty to her group and world centric where the woman radiates to the world
  23. @seeking_brilliance i resonate with this phrase, how am I like this
  24. it depends on one's own projections on these metaprespectives. any thoughts about this?
