I don't know how to correct this. I am mastering online poker. There are several rules you have to obey if you want to succeed. One of them is: "Do not reraise on turn with only a top pair !" I know it. I even wrote it in big banner and stick it to the wall in front of me. I lost big pots some 20 times today cause I violated it. I swore to abide it hundred times. Nothing works. When I flop top pair, lizard brain takes control and I raise and reraise and cannot stop. After, I come back to normal and can only admit: Yes, I did it again. Is there something I can do to change this ?

Sure thing. BIG QUESTION: "Work HOW ?"

First, you need to find what causes that. Explore your fears.

Quick update. I used it for about half a year and was very optimistic in the beggining. Later I get bored because results was non existing and then I decided to quit. But before quitting I decided to ask ICZIN: "How useful MB is to me ? " Today I found ICZINs answer in my papers and here is short summary: Xexagram 4. Dellusin of youth Lost of reality Fool will be punished for not following cosmic rules Xexagram 7. War Conflicts and complications. -
Thanks ! Maybe next incarnation But seriously, I'm too lazy to brag about my progresses, so be ready to hear laments about my disasters

CONCLUSION This fast was one of the shittiest experiences and one of most valuable ones. It showed what my addiction to beer is and how it affects me, it showed me how diet affects consciousness and how consciousnesses affects being. I restarted meditation practice again and switched my focus from survival to joyful living. I could not think about drinking a bottle of beer again, but maybe it'll pass OK, that's enough @Azote As to my diet, I'm not decided yet, but the first steps I plan is: 1) gradually imposing rules I feel is good for me and then growing my discipline muscle to enforce them on me 2) experimenting with what helps and what not 3) slowly switching to healthier diet (vegetarian), but not forcefully - through meditation. 3) use regular water fasting periods when appropriate

END This was the last day. Can't look at beer anymore. Tastes shitty. Beer was last type of alcohol which I liked. Comparing with water fasting, beer fasting was much worse.

DAY 7 14 beers, 9 more than limit. Weight gain 0.2 kg, total loss 4.9 kg. Drinking too much.
-
DAY 6 11 beers, 5 more than limit. Weight loss 0 kg, total 5.1 kg. Drinking too much
-
DAY 5 10 beers, 4 more than limit. Weight loss 1.1 kg, total 5.1 kg. Feeling very weak and muscle cramps at night. Beer tastes as shit.
-
DAY 4 4 beers, as planned. Weight gain 0.4 kg, total loss 4.0 kg. Hunger disappeared, feeling weaker than ordinarily. Yesterday I went to bath. Commonly I heat up three times, but yesterday only two because of dizziness. Later felt good again.
-
DAY 3 11 beers, 5 more than limit. Weight loss 2.1,total 4.6.
-
DAY 2 8 beers, 3 more than limit. Weight loss 0.
-
DAY 1 All went as planned: 4 beers at 14:00, 17:00, 20:00, 23:00 Lost weight 0.7 kg, total 2.5 kg Sometimes felt hunger. Beer was not as delicious as ordinary. After first day seems that water fasting is easier.

DAY 0, transition Yesterday I made a transition from binge eating to beer fasting. Small breakfast in the morning and 7 beers in the evening. Seven was too much, so I was not completely successful, but I kept one and a half hour intervals between beers as planned. I lost 1.8 kg of weight. Today I plan 4 beers with 3 hour intervals, starting at 14:00. Yesterday I also started reading "Never Binge Again" and I hope that conception of Pig inside me will help me to keep with the plan.

In second day of my pilot I discovered important thing. When I practiced water fasting I used strictly water and nothing more to not disturb digestive tract. It was mandatory requirement. On my pilots second day i was juicing apples and drank some juice. I didn't think it'll interfere with my fasting but it did. I got diarrhea immediately and strong hunger. So when Ill go for real fasting -nothing except beer and water ! @Pelin I have about 30 kg excess weight so going anorectic isn't real risk. Yes I have tried a low carb, ketogenic diet some 30 years ago with good results, but: 1) I read recently that it is not healthy 2) it is too difficult for me and requires too much discipline

Interesting. I've been to two Vipassana retreats (Goenka style) and both times 2/3 of students quit before end. I was curious why because I only talked after retreat with those who stayed till end. As for the meditation teachers, they only answered questions, but all instructions were recorded on tape by S.N.Goenka. Only objection from me is that they do not accept that you practice any other methods. So I will not go to their retreat again which is pity.

It's a free course on udemy.com The tools to build motivation are unbelievably simple and extremely effective. I begin to listen to this course yesterday and since then I've done more than in previous three years I procrastinated my tax declarations for 3 years because I felt anxious about them and the more I procrastinated the more anxiety I felt. I was pretty sure I will die in jail, but yesterday I started to sort it all out without fear and hesitation. I only wish I had this tool 50 years ago. I extracted 0.5 point from valuation because of poor record quality and some technical problems.

Thanks, Ill try it. This one's easy, especially when walking barefooted on snow

I agree to you about WHAT, but I don't know HOW Haste and hurry had dominated my since I remember myself. When meditating, I always have this feeling in background: "Why are you sitting here as a fool, when there are so many things to do ?"
-
Hi, @Shubh_5S ! Contemplation IMO is basically thinking about one question so I suppose everyone can choose way of thinking that fits him best. I, for example, are sitting rather relaxed with my eyes closed, just because I can concentrate more easily. I write down my subject (question) in my computer notepad. Sometimes I add more subjects because new subject is needed to clarify initial one. Then I write down it too and think about it. My example session: 1) Why hurry ? 2) What is goal ? 3) Goal versus process ? 4) What is process ? 5) what are relationship between goal and processes ? 6) What is result ? 7) What is reason ??? Then, when I finish session, I have network of interrelated nodes and I can contemplate them next time until I get to some conclusions.

If you are unconscious during these rage events (going on autopilot), then you should meditate more, to raise your consciousness level. If you can maintain consciousness during these rage events, then you should simply observe your rage. Immerse into your emotional state maintaining observer status.
