And of course the mysterious ending: Lynch had a way of bypassing the conscious mind and speaking directly to the sub-conscious and/or the super-conscious.

This was one of my favourite scenes in The Return. A beautiful depiction of evil.

Funnily enough, Iโm a couple of months into a similar course. I donโt see why anyone would want to hire me though as AI can do basically everything I can do and much more quicklyโฆ I have heard from other people that demand for junior developers has decreased drastically because of this.

Looking forward to Trump-branded psychedelics like DMTrump and LSDonald.

I loved Twin Peaks, especially The Return. Lynch once said that "people never do things by themselves", that people are always being used by forces beyond themselves. The Return is a particularly vivid depiction of this. The line from the Upanishads which influenced Inland Empire - "We are like the dreamer, who dreams and then lives inside the dream, but who is the dreamer?" - also reappears in The Return. I feel grateful that someone like David Lynch was able to use cinema and television to convey spiritual insights. This website has some interesting analysis of Twin Peaks from a metaphysical perspective: https://unwrappingtheplastic.com/2018/07/17/the-end-of-time/.

Alcohol can make you more in tune with the subconscious, especially for people who are overly intellectual. It helped me heal the wounded lower part of myself. -
I don't agree with this as Christianity was the Western equivalent of Buddhism. Nietzsche did argue that the internal logic of Christianity ultimately leads to nihilism, though... In our time, the East seems to be just as nihilistic as the West. Modern China is the living embodiment of the "Reign of Quantity".

Sorry to derail your thread but I wanted to ask: is it dangerous to take 5-MeO alone?
-
Obviously women.
-
I'm not saying they've made a conscious or theoretically-driven choice to be nihilistic. In the final phase of nihilistic dissolution of all values, even nihilism as an ideological instrument of subversion disintegrates. It's just an implicit and practical reality in everyday life.
-
All these problems are downstream of the nihilism of our generation.

I don't think it is surprising: it makes no sense to go through extreme material hardship in war just for the sake of material well-being back home. It only makes sense to die for something which transcends your individuality. "There is a field forever called England" or something like that. In most of Western Europe, only a quarter or less of the population is willing to die for their country. The number increases as one moves closer to Russia, for obvious reasons...
-
Noโฆ And most of the Western world now agrees with me. None of these countries offer anything worth dying for.

Iโm currently researching psychedelics as I plan to experiment with them more rigorously in the future and I came upon this interesting essay which criticises their use from a Perennial Traditionalist perspective: https://charles-upton.com/2018/02/25/on-psychedelics-and-or-entheogens-drug-induced-mysticism-revisited/ Iโm not posting this because I agree with everything he says, nor do I imagine any of you will. Let me know what you think of it!

Truth is important because it is the nature of reality. If you are not living in accord with the truth, you are living in delusion and fantasy. Also, lies corrode the soul...
-
Porn is definitely not harmless. It fills your subconscious with garbage, especially over time. It can even attract dark and demonic forces which corrode the soul.

Whenever I listen to or read discourse about dating, relationships and sexuality, I get triggered because it evokes all of my own unsatisfied desires. So many years of loneliness and misery build up a lot of resentment. Ironically, this keeps me from having a relationship because, as soon as I get the chance, the wounded part of me relishes the opportunity to reject someone else and get revenge. Not sure why I shared this, maybe somebody here can relate to itโฆ

My friend has access to some 2C-B and I am considering trying it. Do any of you have experience with 2C-B? Do you have any thoughts or advice on how to use the trip effectively? I know Leo had an old video where he described experiencing physical death on it. Most other people seem to report fairly superficial experiences, though, at least compared to other psychedelics. I have also heard that it can have quite a heavy body load.

He will become God and live forever!

I think more and more people are aware of this and care about it. The sense that people donโt care is likely a holdover from times when it was more taboo.

What is one to think of religious and spiritual discourse which refers to god anthropomorphically? My own understanding is that such terminology exists primarily within a theistic and devotional context, as opposed to esoteric accounts of what is beyond even God such as the Absolute, the Unconditioned and Nothingness.
-
From an esoteric point of view, the Anti-Christian forces which have obviously taken over the world are actually working for God. Like all the mythological depictions of a descent into the underworld, the world itself has now descended into hell. However, this descent is necessary to bring about the resurrection of higher and sublimated values. Trump - egotistical, narcissistic, greedy, corrupt, perverted - is the perfect embodiment of Anti-Christian values. As such, I ask you: who better to rule over this collapsing world of ruins and, in doing so, bring about the much-prophesied New Age?

Itโs not even an experience!

On some level. I suppose any defence one sets up is for oneโs own benefit, at least initially, as a way to cope with a situation which would otherwise be unbearable. The trouble is that, like @theleelajoker said, it then becomes an internalised self-narrative which one feels a need to sustain, regardless of whether it is true. In my case, at least in the past, it has proved to be a toxic combination: I reject and chase after all the people I shouldnโt. This is a recipe for bitterness and dissatisfaction. Maybe one day my mentality will catch up with my biology! In the meantime, these are the riches of the poorโฆ
