  1. This is probably a controversial opinion. I love what Leo does, and I enjoy his content and insights. I hope for more to follow! But let's not forget, he's just at the same spot as you, me and everyone else is! He might claim to have seen something special, but this is nothing special to him! He is no god! If he every claims to be god, that would just be his spiritual ego. He is you, and you is the rest of mankind. Don't forget this! Maybe I just hope this community does not fall into a personality cult and sees the truth for what it is! Reading all the comments and threads here makes me hopeful. I hope you have a great day! -dharm4
  2. @Leo Gura I personally don’t like using the word god, it has too many associations for most people. Thesism and atheism are two sides of the same coin, they assume ultimate reality is based on a belief. Sam Harris claims to have experienced the illusion of self, but he still seems to be stuck at the materialistic/intellectual view of the world. But I think he understands non–duality on more than an intellectual level, if you read his book on the subject. You should listen to his recent podcast with michael pollan on psychedelics. Really interesting!
  3. What are your attachments? Is it your career, family, other pleasures? Death is about letting these go. The ultimate surrender is physical death, but before that happens you can work on surrendering the rest. I have not come close to physical death, but there is an interesting insight from Kevin Smith on the latest Joe Rogan Podcast. He recently had a serious heart attack. Starts at: 2:58:00
  4. I agree, the best way to end fear is not to resist, analyse or overcome it. It creates a duality between the observer of fear and the fear itself. This conflict keeps fear alive. But if you want to catch fear at the root you need to be aware of any thought that involves time. „Yesterday I had this bad experience and I don’t want it to happen again“ Is usually the idea. This does not have to be a verbal thought, it could also be a picture. Just be aware when it arises and observe it. it’s the same as before don’t try to resist it or overcome/analyse it. It goes away by itself when the duality between you and it comes to an end.
  5. Thanks for the reply. I wish I knew more people like you! Happy play
  6. The strangest thing about the path of truth is the change of perception. To most people this would seem strange, crazy. But when I look at memories, videos, stories of the past I don't see the past but the present. This is not a new idea, I think many people have experienced it. There is a popular book by Kurt Vonnegut - slaughterhouse five- where the main character gets "unstuck in time". It's not like I can travel back to the past or future, but the boundaries between past, present and future seem to loosen. It just becomes weird to use the present tense when talking about something that happend. I guess if I was to talk about this to "normal people", they would think I'm crazy, but I don't think that is the case. Is anyone else experiencing this?
  7. Sam Harris just posted this on his twitter account. It's a podcast from "After on" with Don Hoffman( university of california quantative psychologist). He describes perception, reality in the most clear, rational way possible. If you don't get all of it, dont worry. You eventually will! https://after-on.com/episodes/026
  8. @Faceless Dude, I wish there were me more people like you in my environment Yes I agree, the perciever must come to an end, but it makes me optimistic about the community of scientists and rationalists. I'm still partially in that world. I love science, and listen to many of the ideas!
  9. @InfinitePotentialIt seems to me the most non-esoteric, non-magical, but rational way of explaining the truth of what is. I hope more intellectual people will see the truth in it.
  10. For most of my life I've been looking for truth. What is reality? You do certain things, drugs, exercises, rituals, retreats to get closer to it. But it is not where you look, but where you are. This can be the hardest thing in your life to see.
  11. Fear is one movement. But it has many types, like branches on a tree. Trying to analyze them all will take you forever. You need to cut the tree at the root. Fear is the absence of love. The defence mechanism of the self. Time and thought are the root of fear, and the ending of time is death.
  12. I just watched leo's recent (blog) video. First of all, I do not claim to be some kind of enlightened master (far from it). I had some deep experiences and I just want to comment on leo's recent insights. Some of them deeply resonate with me, but in the end these are just words... I think one insight he gets wrong is the idea that any of the circumstances had anything to do with his insights. They did not. Not the 5-meo DMT, technique, nor the location and not the intend. If you want to experience "direct reality", "what is" or "the absolute" you have to look at what is going on right now. REALLY look. Most people don't look, they just think they see something. The idea that some substance will help you see what is real, is just an illusion. If you allow yourself to see THIS right now, there are no rules. That is all it takes. It can be magical. You can feel overwhelmed. But it can also feel mundane. Don't be fooled by your feelings. What you are seeing right now is profound! Yes, most people don't see reality for what is it. And you will probably see this text as something you want to see. Not for what is is. If you a sincere and truly want to understand reality, there will be nothing that stands between you and this realisation. No retreat, no drug, no video, book or method. If you have something to comment, feel free and feel loved :-)
  13. The mind wants stuff to be concrete, distinct, limited to a box. But if you really look at truth, not your idea of it, it's really just the most obvious thing. You look for this one experience that will reveal the truth to you, but that is just a distraction keeping you away from it. Right now, you read these words. It will change, you will change and eventually all experiences end. But the end to experience is just the beginning of eternity.
  14. It’s very simple. All that exists already exists. When? It is ALL one instant. And there is only one ‘thing’. It just is. It is not this or that, but just is, not as any particular thing. Now, to experience itself, it has to have relationship, duality. But there is no ‘other’, so how is this possible? Well, it has the capacity to reflect (like thinking or dreaming or imagining, choose your word). What EVERYTHING is, is this one ‘thing’ (No-Thing, really) reflecting upon itself. This means it is basically viewing itself from infinite angles. Each instant is an angle, or a perspective. You may think you are a human viewing things, but really you are this no-thing viewing itself, now and now and now and now and now. Each now is the same now, experienced from a different angle (perspective). This shift in perspective is what change is, and it happens constantly. So, all exists simultaneously, and all that’s going on is no-thing is viewing itself (reflecting upon itself) like this, then like that, then like this etc. Like a film strip in which the beginning middle and end are all present, but each picture on the strip stands independently. Yet if you view the pictures in a particular order, it’ll look like someone is living a life It’s brilliant! It’s creation. Perhaps at first this can be very uncomfortable, can feel like death, cos it’s all so very empty. You don’t really exist…. oops. But, well, you don’t really exist as a person in time, is far more accurate. Eventually you cannot be other than this no-thing reflecting upon itself, experiencing itself, for there is no other thing really. It’s all the same one thing, on every fractal level of itself. You are it, exploring yourself, writing stories, making art out of no-thing! It is what is looking at these words right now. It is changeless, while its thoughts (reflections) are forever changing. There’s no hurry to get anywhere, there’s no one you need to be. Eternity will take all of eternity to experience itself, and eternity is forever NOW. You can play it however you want it, or just watch it passing by like the film it is. I find that usually life calls me to be an active participant but you might find otherwise…. It is not a hypothetical scenario, as the topic above suggest, but the actuality of What Is.
  15. Hey guys, I am still new to the forum but have a question: How do you guys deal with people closest to you? Like your partner or your best friend? Do you talk about your insights or do you keep them for yourself? When I first started out on my spiritual journey I used to talk a lot about it to my partner and best friend(s). Now I don't do it anymore, because it seems like people have a hard time relating to it. What's your opinion on this? Would love to hear some insights on this :-)
