The goal of every online platform is to make it impossible for anyone’s content to gain visibility unless you pay them a toll. Online platforms are visibility-toll-collectors, and without visibility no business can function. So every business in the world is a hostage to online toll collectors like Google, Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Spotify. Eventually these platforms will give no free visibility to anyone. It will be entirely pay-to-play. You won’t even show up on Google unless you pay them. That’s where we are headed.
