How Pickup Lines Work

Guys and girls both profoundly misunderstand how pickup lines work.

The point of a pickup line is not to get you laid. No woman will ever sleep with you from any verbal thing you say. The verbals are irrelevant. There is no line you can say to get a girl to like you, so stop even trying that.

That’s not what pickup lines are about. The point of a pickup line is to amuse yourself with clever and witty things to say. To put yourself into a creative, flirtatious mood. For this to work, you don’t want to be memorizing someone else’s lines, you want to be in a state of mind where you are constantly inventing funny, clever lines of your own. As you drive to the club or the date, invent some new funny lines and write them down in your phone. Keep doing that for years and you will become insanely charming, witty, funny, and sharp.

As an exercise, I challenge you to invent ten original, clever, funny lines to say to a girl. These lines don’t have to be the first thing you say, some lines are best dropped deeper into a conversation. As a bonus, these lines should reflect your values, hobbies, and personality. For example, if you are into spirituality and psychedelics, invent some funny lines related to this topic. For example, something as simple as, “Fuck it. Lets go smoke DMT.” And you drop this line a lot into every conversation until it becomes a joke. For example, she might be talking about some problem she has at work, and you drop in, “Fuck it. Let’s go smoke DMT”. You do this even when you have no intention of smoking DMT. It’s just a joke. But it also aligns with your true values and interests (assuming you like DMT).

The value is not in the line, the value is in the attitude and mindset that generates the line. This is the difference between investing in a diamond vs a diamond mine. To have good game, you need to re-train your mind to be frequently thinking about funny and witty things. And then you write those down for future use. If you do this for a few years, eventually your mind will become so sharp that you’ll be able to generate pickup lines in real-time, live, in the middle of a conversation. Now you own a diamond mine.

Examples of funny lines I like to drop on girls in conversation:

• I am too beautiful for you.
• One day you will love me as much as I love myself.
• That’s what she said.
• This is all just a dream.
• What gifts are you gonna get me?
• I have to always keep one eye on you.
• I buried my last girlfriend in the desert.
• [knock on her skull with finger] Who’s in there?
• It’s okay, I forgive you.
• It’s okay, I’m a professional.
• God is watching you.
• I want to bite you.

It took me years to figure that out. No one explained it properly.
