Insight - Product Piracy

25 posts in this topic

After some time, I realized that the universe will not let you grow if you use piracy products.

E-books, Courses, Tapes and whatever you think of that you have not paid.

If you see, people that use piracy products don't grow, they just consume, consume and consume and actually becomes the same.

What's your thoughts on that?

if you have money and want to spend it then you buy
if you don't have money then you use piracy products (games, e-books)
if you train then you grow, if you don't then you don't

Paying for the product does make you more likely to use it fully and extract all the value from it. But I do not think you can't grow if you use piracy products. There IS that extra layer of integrity though when you pay for what you consume, so I think that must do something.

I think the guilty of not paying for something don’t let you grow.

The creators put a lot of effort and you just get something for nothing.

To get something you have to give something.

Yeah that's the integrity part. But as far as things like LP is concerned, many people move forward and learn skills through pirated products without feeling guilt.

@Swarnim I understand your point.

But for me, I can’t do this anymore.

I’ll search for free content but will not use piracy products.

Some countries are more isolated from good content than others. Piracy is also a means to get country restricted information for many people.

@Israfil Great POV.

We are both from Brazil.

We have to move from our culture to expand our consciousness.

English language saved ourselves ??

Yep, would you want people to pirate your creativity and hard work that you put a price tag on? On the flip side, many people will move to higher understanding through pirating the right materials.  So it depends on the level you're at, but not stealing is definitely the more integrous and higher way.

I've stopped pirating anything about 4 or 5 years ago and my conscience feels much cleaner because of it.

@AlterEgo Yes, I agree.

I‘ve just deleted all piracy books, courses and audios that I had.

Yeah that's why I purchased products. I no longer have qualms buying self help products which I believe is valuable.

I guess stealing things in the name of personal development is counterproductive.
I feel that when I act with low integrity that my mind gets noisy and full of bullshit.
But if some struggling minimum wage worker steals some digital information product that will help them, maybe that would actually be better for everyone in the end.

It's a nice idea, but not true.

You can do piracy and grow. All it takes is to be serious.

Many people simply cannot afford expensive products. Doesn't mean they cannot benefit from the material or that they aren't serious.

money is a man-made invention that doesnt even exist. The universe wont punish you if you dont pay. Only you will punish yourself If you believe you did something wrong.

@TheNovice Yes, there's nuance into that.

What's your thoughts @Leo Gura @UnbornTao @StarStruck

All is Self, so just like organs in a body, every human has its function. It is ok to take "nutritions" but for the benefit of all, not for the benefit for yourself.

I think that many people are taking for granted free things including piracy. When they have something that they didn't work for and easily came to them they are less likely to value it.

But it depends on the person, on the flip side there are people who purchase lots of material but don't make a good use of it either and quit.

So probobly it depends more on factors like personality and motivation.

I’ll go without using piracy products.

The thing that put me into that philosophy is that if you use piracy products your telling to yourself that you don’t have the money to pay for it and then it reinforces the fact that you don’t have prosperity to pay for it.

It’s like a downward spiral.

Yeah you can grow in some areas like having better pick-up skills.

But you may still lack integrity if you constantly use free products without paying. So you end up asking the girl to pay or beat her up just saying.
