I've gotten so lucky with my teachers

6 posts in this topic

All of my top 3 teachers in spirituality have been fully awake. I found Leo and Ralston through YouTube, but I also found another teacher who adresses all the same points. Except solipsism, he says that the consciousness which is within you is within all beings. Other than that he agrees with the former on all aspects of consciousness. After rewatching the 30 facets of awakening I realized how lucky I've gotten to have these teachers. The third i randomly stumbled upon in person.

Also Ralston never addresses Love either so there still seems to be disagreement. But to me the most important facet of awakening is that you are God in the Now always and constantly manifesting creating and imagining your reality. This one and the fact that there is Nothing here at all. It's all Mind.

Yummy! I love my Karma (except for the porn addiction thing :(

@BlessedLion Perhaps reframe your porn addiction. It doesn't have to be a negative thing unless you judge it as negative.

@Matthew85 i agree but the thing is it takes my energy and peace of mind. It gets me out of touch of with spirit which is just me but i see what you're saying.

I think more grounding and integration and holistic view of merging point btw life and spirit so they seem ever more the same thing makes you more able to avoid vices. You simply don’t end up wanting so much. You feel like eating broccoli and eating cake are the same thing, just another experience. Porn or no porn, also the same. So you can “just say no” no sweat off your back.

I find psychedelics to be incredibly unbalanced way of doing spirituality. Also even meditation retreats can be. Because they take your consciousness abnormally high. How do you then be that way in day to day? How do you then be aware and in control as you walk by hot girls. You weren’t exposed to that in the ashram. This is part of integration. This is shedding ego, learning to be here in the midst of it and be aware.

It’s hard to be truly addicted to porn. Think about it, if suddenly the internet broke forever and every sexual image in the world was burned by the Jihadis, would you miss porn? No, you’d probably rejoice and be fine just using your imagination or whatever.

the issue is mostly just needing to get what you want instead of wanting what you get- that is, being okay with anything- which is true freedom.

if your consciousness is one of preference, and porn is dangled in front of your face 24/7, that’s not a good mix.

idk your experience, just telling you mine.

If all 3 teachers hare fully awake, that means they're all at exactly the same level of awakening? Consider that no one might be "fully" awake (unless your definition of awakening is narrow and excludes things one could still awaken to)

@BlessedLion I hear ya. Perspective and belief is everything. Perhaps try to see porn as just another expression of God. Does it have to get you out of touch? Something to contemplate.
