The Sickness of Actualized.org [Serious]

69 posts in this topic

Actualized.org is the deepest, most profound spiritual teaching out there. What Leo has done for metaphysics (specifically his insights on Love and God-Realization) is remarkable and will sooner or later be recognized as the groundbreaking work that it is. This does not mean that he is infallible -- far from it.

Leo is a brilliant metaphysician and analytical philosopher, but when it comes to society, culture, and everyday life - all things pertaining to humans - he has some very misguided views.

You cant separate a philosopher from his philosophy! and even though Leo would like you to believe that he is the exception to this rule, this is of course a fantasy.

Leo is a sick man. His body is failing him and he is suffering quite a lot for it. This obviously incentivises him to escape from physicality as much as possible.

I remember him preaching that working out is cope and carbohydrates make you unconscious. All the while he is blasting his nervous system with research chemicals and strains it even further with these highly stressful chelations he does. Anyone reasonable knows that his physical deterioration is at least in part due to these extremely erroneous health practices.

Leo should have gotten himself a woman, or a dog; started some sports, or artisanry, or craftsmanship, - he doesn't even read anymore. He has nothing grounding himself after his psychedelic binges, so he just keeps going back - again and again. All he has going for himself are some shallow hook-ups and his pickup buddys he constantly bashes for their stupidity. Its a sad sight, really.

Considering all this, it is not hard to see why he holds the philosophical positions he does. Many of his influences (especially eastern mysticism) are notoriously averse to the body, desires, sensuality - "worldy" pleasures.

There is a big misunderstanding at the heart of all this though. No serious sage ever taught you to neglect this world for the "other world" -The Ideal World of Forms, The Intelligible world, The City of God, The Heavenly Kingdom, Absolute Spirit... these are all this world rightly seen -- obvious enough.

So why does one feel the need to constantly refer back to some other world? Why is ones mind drawn toward ideas like a socialist utopia at the end of history? There is always a snuck in teleology telling you that this world, this life, this body - it is not good enough! It is Maja! An illusion! And it is a serious illusion, really! -- this is of course the core of the life-denial and degeneracy I am referring to. It is a sickness. A disease. Only a twisted, world-weary mind would hold such views.

Anyone with intellectual honesty and some level of intelligence at leas should be able to tell that Leo's teachings are fundamentally anti-life. And for the love of god, dont hit me with some stupid non-dual plattitudes. This is not about any of this! This is about life. You are either serving life or you are denying it - so better choose wisely!

Quote

Thus I speak to you in a parable—you who make souls whirl, you preachers of equality. To me you are tarantulas, and secretly vengeful. But I shall bring your secrets to light; therefore I laugh in your faces with my laughter of the heights. Therefore I tear at your webs, that your rage may lure you out of your lie-holes and your revenge may leap out from behind your word justice. For that man be delivered from revenge, that is for me the bridge to the highest hope, and a rainbow after long storms.

Anyone with intellectual honesty and some brains (which admittedly is quite the standard for this community) should be able to tell that Leo's teachings are fundamentally anti-life. It is and can bring you fo God realization.  But stop there.   Because once you reach God realization the rest about Leo is null and void because he, as is your parents and everyone else, are discovered by you to be figments of your own Consciousness trying to wake yourself up.   So who Leo is as a person is immaterial.   For that matter when you obtain God realization what you are as a person is also immaterial.

@Nilsi with regards to Leo’s health and social life you simply make a lot of unfounded projections.

Also, I really think you have a bad grasp of Leo’s work.

@Thought Art you are enchanted by the teacher and not the teachings.   You wil never awaken until you realize that Leo was just a figment of your mind trying to wake you up.

I think It would be very hard to let your hair down and enjoy normal life with others being in Leo's position, it seems like it would come with a type of isolation if you weren't careful with it, which I imagine could get painful.

@Inliytened1 oh go away

You are entitled to your projections.

I do not know Leo, and have no fantasy I do.

@Inliytened1 Thanks

To OP self deception runs deep.  It will make you think that the teachings here are a sickness.   This is all part of the dream and part of your own self deception to keep you far away from enlightenment.

I do think a limitation of the teachings are a lack of prioritising connection with others. Like deep intimate connections.

And also once surpassing one's own internal limitations, i.e. traumas, going out into the world enjoying and flowing with life. Spreading love and job naturally. Be that in one's own pursuits of craftsmanship, or the arts, or music etc.

For me actualized teachings only become beautiful to the degree that i can bring beauty and emancipation to others, after achieving it for myself.

But perhaps the introverted nature that Leo says he has is at the forfront here. It is easy to project one's own desires and wishes onto other. I know my life and my desires. I desire to connect deeply with others, and i want this so much that i cannot really consider the possibility that anyone does not. So, i am biases by the extent of my desires and may simply attribute desires to others who hold no such desires.

So while we may see the good life as being out in the world, Leo may see it more on his own.

That said, i may be speaking of things of which i do not really know. Spirituality is not a field i have explored massively as of yet in terms of deep personal experiences. And so perhaps i am in ignorance of a different way that reality can beautifully be experienced.

I do have trouble with grating and abrupt nature of many of your posts @Nilsi but i think this post here shows a very valuable side to your character. I must say I dislike it when you appear to denigrate others, and i edited this post accordingly but you do make very insightful points about the actualized community at times, to my mind at least. And this post certainly contains such insights , to my mind.

Leo has done something great, he has spread very deep, true ideas about reality, about what we are. Leo is not going to make you wake up, you have to do that, but he is going to make your mind more flexible, he is going to make you understand many mechanisms of the ego, he is going to give you a new dimension. that later you don't like their hobbies? well, as if he likes to masturbate with sandpaper, it's his life. Seems that the op wants an example, a leader. Maybe he should search in another place. Leo is an explorer of consciousness, and his explorations are very interesting, but the only valid ones are yours.

@Inliytened1 I didn’t mean to be offensive when I said “oh go away” by the way. I felt that I was expressing I was brushing you and your comment off.  Though when I feel into it, I was triggered in my response.

I get people will have their ideas of me, and I have to learn to let them think that way.

I hope you don’t feel bad towards that comment. Thanks for sharing and wanting to help with my evolution.

I like that we all help each other grow and hold each other accountable.

I guess, I value people asking more about my opinions than telling me what I think. I think I like people wanting to learn more about me, than tell me what I think. I’d like to also treat others that way.

When it comes to Leo in his videos, I like the work and I like the man. I won’t hide this from people. I am appreciative. But, I also always want to see reasonable critique of the forum, Leo, teachings. Whether I agree or not is another thing but I like to see them.

What we have to make him realize - truly - is that there is no Leo.  The avatar or form of Leo is simply a means to an end for God to wake up.  God is you and God takes all forms - like a shapeshifter.

Dude we are a family here and I love you like a bother I really do.  I've seen you grow here from the beginning and become a wise member of the council (like the Council of Elrond hehe) .  So I'm sorry for my comments as well.  I don't know you - you're right. I'm only going off my intuition  - but I do know that my intuition is very high.   And I also know you are decades younger than me so from an experience perspective my intuition tells me you are caught up a bit too much in Leo and not the teachings.   My intuition also tells me your mind is more open than all of us put together and you ARE and HAVE absorbed and grasped the teachings to some extent.   There is more to go...  But this is a strength I would wish all of us had more of.   So your enlightenment will happen with time.

@Inliytened1 Love you too bro.

I appreciate you pointing these possibilities out to me and I will be sure to self reflect that I don’t let me liking if Leo blind me towards criticism of him, and other potentially negatives that could arise.

Thank you for believing in my ability to awaken deeply and I would like to share this belief with everyone here. I do not have a good gauge of anyone’s spiritual development or implicit understanding of God and reality.

Healthy conflict should be the goal of our conversations when conflict is happening. Healthy conflict is really a core pillar of how this forum will grow.

@Nilsi Feel free to criticize Leo's teachings, but personal remarks about him or any other member of the forum are inflammatory and unnecessary.

Renunciation is a proven spiritual path in both eastern and western traditions, but it is only a path. There are other paths to the summit, and regardless of the path taken, it is no longer helpful once the summit is reached.

Seeing truly frees you to fully engage with the phenomenal beauty of life, without being entangled by it. Sometimes people benefit from sitting in the  solitude of a cave for a while, until they are ready to emerge with rested eyes. The only people judging them for doing so are blindly chained to their own wall within the cave.

Just because God loves you doesn't mean it is going to shape the cosmos to suit you. God loves you so much that it will shape you to suit the cosmos.
