@Carl-Richard    While I don't mind watching content from VICE, I'm noticing the drop in quality from them, and how they just focus in on the worser aspects of a group, situation, or an individual's circumstance and not give a balanced, nuanced take. If the situation or person happens to be left leaning in nature, they'll paint this situation or person in a better light versus a situation or person that's right leaning.

   They also covered beforehand robbery of successful Instagram people, and they didn't cover and go deeper as to why they attempted to rob such people, just poor robbers=bad men, rich social media influencers=victims. ?

You know it's a comedy skit, right?

Nofap is bs as far as I can tell but do you think there's a legit case for cutting out porn?

It's not completely bs. There is such a thing as fapping too much. The mistake would be to blow this insight out of proportion and create some kind of ideology around it. If you think you're fapping too much, that doesn't mean you should stop fapping. Just fap less.

You will experience a dopamine detox and obviously you will much be hornier. You might feel like you have more energy or motivation, which I assume comes from the dopamine detox or even just the extreme horniness. You might as well try it out for a bit just to see how it affects you personally.

IME any noticeable benefits will cap at about day 10. No real point in going further than that IMO. Your sexual pleasure and horniness isn't gonna change much from that point on.

I've done 30 days and it made me "flatline" and my libido and sensitivity down there has been very weird ever since, not in a desirable way. I would say my sexual health was better before the whole ordeal, but I have learned much more about sex and masturbation because of it, so there is bad and good to come of it.

@Osaid @Carl-Richard seems like you’re talking about quitting fapping while I’m talking about only quitting porn

You literally said nofap is bs.

@Carl-Richard

Epicurus is proud of you, be happy. Eat your cheese, chase your pleasure.

I used to masturbate when I was homeless haaaaa. Ever since then I've felt that there is no greater shame than pretending to feel connected to the universe by blowing one for God.

Literally no greater shame possible than jerking off homeless. You think to yourself, wow this is brave of me. It's pathetic in its absolute.

Killing somebody for no reason is still not encouraging failing genetic behavior. It takes something out of you to do that.

I'm serious.

@Carl-Richard

Haha you keep talking to yourself I don't ask you to imagine it like that.

I'm only sharing that it felt stupidly bold of me to jerkoff in the shadows of the night in Los Angeles.

@Carl-Richard you seriously don't believe that there is not any harmful effects of fapping and porn AT ALL and that its just in our head ?

@Carl-Richard and how much is too much ? How do you even go about measuring  that?

It's too much if you think it's causing things like brain fog, low energy and motivation, and it's too little if you think it's negatively affecting your life in other ways (e.g. sleep quality).

I always feel like a loser after any masturbation session.  Always feel drained .deprived of energy. Brain fog .poor concentration. Not enough strength to kick ass in the gym. And many more .

However,I'm now on 100+ days on NoFap and I feel the opposite of all these things.  Of course one masturbation session isn't gonna get me back to zero. But it just escalates . One fap leads to another fap and it becomes a cycle of binging .

If you go for a very long time without fapping while believing very strongly that fapping is not a good thing, and then you finally do fap, of course you're going to feel like shit. The longer you go, the bigger the crash, and the more mental energy you invest into that project, when the project fails, of course you'll feel bad. On the other hand, if you find a stable and healthy rhythm of fapping and you also don't waste any mental energy thinking about it afterwards, it's completely different.

I promise you that this will help for the escalation problem: learn how to differentiate between "the organic feeling of sexual energy" vs. "short bursts of arousal driven by mental images". The organic feeling is in some way present all the time, and it builds up progressively day by day, while the short bursts of arousal go up and down quickly based on the mental images in your mind.

If you can learn to pinpoint exactly where your organic feeling is usually at a high point and where going any further starts to become disproportionally uncomfortable (for me it's every 3-4 days), in my experience, that is where you'll find the optimal fapping frequency with respect to brain fog and energy issues.

I promise you, it's so much better than the alternative for so many reasons. Also, one big thing is that when you actually do fap, you'll not be overwhelmed by lethargy and brain fog, but instead you'll be sitting blissed out for 1-2 hours while your mind is crystal clear. It's actually amazing how much your body rewards you when you do the right thing at exactly the right time. If you keep hitting the optimal balance head-on; straight in the bulls eye, every time; that is what health is, and it feels amazing.

I'm 26 now .in my teenage years I used to fap 5 times a day. I mean… that’s sure a lot. Hope i have some skin left on my willy. It does hurt your reproductive system (don't in listen to those so called modern doctors daggers who say  it is supposed to be good for your prostate and testicles and ducts and blahblahbla)

 you’re going to be pretty  cranky when you have some responsibilities that require you to be away from a wank-safe area for any period of time. You need to learn to focus on other stuff so you can function when you can’t jerk it. Seriously. Functioning while horny is important.

The energy you get from not fulfilling your sexual urges can be used to better yourself in many ways, exercise especially, and so like microwaving every meal can make you too lazy to cook and fill you with junk, whackin’ it like it did something wrong can laze you out for getting the real thing or using your energy for more productive purposes.

I don't need advice. I have zero problems with brain fog or energy.

I am pretty sure that undiagnosed post orgasm illness syndrome (POIS) is rampant amongst the semen retention communities. And so the ideology justifies a lot of their experiences i.e., they feel 'depleted' or 'anxious' following ejaculation. And so naturally, when they abstain from something that is triggering severe symptoms, they feel better (without realizing they have a chronic health condition).

Source: I had POIS, and it is now in remission.

I had a similar idea. Or some mild form of POIS.
