Tik Tik is really a illegal site.

Jesus Christ, I was being too nice in the past when I said that Tik Tok isn'y my thing, and that it's a waste of time for me. I didn't know Tik Tok would be as fucked up as this:

Say what you will about Donald Trump, but I have to agree with him here when he really didn't like this website, besides it being from China and that Hua Wei was possibly using this website to gather more intelligence/make the western younger generation dumber.

This website is certified illegal and should be severely restricted or taken off the internet and fined. This is absolutely unacceptable; I wouldn't encourage my worst enemies to spend time there.

   Your thoughts? Topic too triggering?

Minors are into BDSM nowadays, you guys just don’t understand the world around you anymore.

Gen-z is highly sexually exposed by the Internet and are into all sorts of things very young and are experiencing a childhood that’s very different and more advanced than we did.

Seriously consider this, you are a boomer to them, there is a huge generation gap.

Only watched a bit but ye seems like there is a serious issue with it.

Seems to me like it needs  much more sringent moderation. The combination of Kids & the need to belong can lead to tragic events. Gotta keep the young ones safe.

Every large online platform hosts some illegal content. YT not excluded. That's just the nature of the beast.

You cannot have a platform of 100+ million people and have it all be clean. People will use that platform for sick purposes because people are sick.

But Tiktok was literaly created by China.

So??? Is China not allowed to create software? Lol

And Facebook was literally created by the US.

And China LITERALY stole all the private information Tiktok managed to amass at the time - that actually happened.

Yes, Chinese control is a legit problem. I was just about to post a video on my blog about that.

But also, the US steals social media data too. So who are we to judge?

Quote

China is clearly using Tiktok as a psychological weapon.

Tiktok in China - people working, doing hard things, sacrificing for their country. Tiktok in the rest of the world - pure soul sucking, attention sucking, focus sucking cancer. That's not an accident.

Maybe. But also consider that's simply because in China they care about controlling free speech while in the US we do not. If the US wanted to be responsible we could ban content that rots kid's minds. But FREEDUMB!

Why is China supposed to regulate the US more than we care to regulate ourselves?

If the US is okay with rotting the minds of our children, why should China oppose? It's in China's interest to feed the beast.

This situation actually shows us some benefits to China's style of governance. China ain't all bad. They do a lot of stuff that's in the best health of their citizens. Americans are too selfish to do that. Which, yeah, is a problem.

Can't really depend on humans to censor information/content/free speech.

Exactly. So here we are.

There is no one to censor us but ourselves. And if you think being 100% uncensored is good, you're a fool.

How do you know that all minors are into BDSM?

I agree on that Gen-z has different upbringings than Gen-x and Gen-y, but not so sure about the sexual exposure part. What do you mean?

Are you assuming I'm Gen-y or Gen-x? What gave me away?

What do you think it'll mean for the internet as an open source? more regulation and restrictions?

@Danioover9000 I've said for a long time that Tiktok is actual cancer. You know how things fractelise at different scales. Blood veins look like rivers, galaxy formations inside small rocks. Tiktok is a malignant spread of toxicity, like cancer, but at a larger societal level.

We have the medical definition of cancer but we also have a second definition: "an evil or destructive practice or phenomenon that is hard to contain or eradicate.". Literally Tiktok.

One of the biggest problems with Tiktok is that it has infected all the other social media platformsGo onto Youtube, Facebook, Instagram. What do you see? An infinite feed of short, quick videos. Instagram is basically Tiktok now.

TikTok is a dangerous place. Irs a breeding ground for all kinds of wrong things.. Viral trends.

I don't know what it would devolve into.

I also get this Constant news that someone got murdered while filming.

I'm glad that out of all the things i'm addicted to, tiktok isn't one of them. Even the shorts on youtube and factbook are insanely addictive

I have Tiktok, I believe you can use it in a conscious and creative way, check out mine if you want for examples:):

https://www.tiktok.com/@artejusino

Same by using instagram and youtube, I wanna inspire with my art and there is a lot of good information shared via tiktok, I was annoyed the same way like many of you guys until I started to use it and see results. There is pro and cons sure for being short, but that was also a good challenge for me of “being precise and clear with my messages” in a matter of seconds and minutes, stay open minded guys.

P.S. You can upload now up to 10 min. so, doesn’t have to be limited in shorts.

@Space so? There is nothing wrong making a minute of facts or tips/pro tips about something. I shared my tiktoko if you want to see some examples, there is a ton more of other people about almost any subject.

The reality is that some people have patience to see hours about a subject, others no because whatever reasons, you’re at work, etc. It makes it easier to share you know.

The exception to the rule, does not cure the entire basket of the problem.

The main problem is that Tik Tok, by existing in this new internet ecosystem of other social business platforms, has pressured other social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and others to adopt this new method of attracting and arresting the younger generation's attention of using short videos and short clips and feeds that hijack your limbic system into consuming their content with little conscious awareness or contemplation. This further breeds a collective need in that subculture into needing more shorter and quicker content, which is a breeding ground of poisoning a young mind's ability to focus and develop critical thinking skills. The reason why is because there's little punishment for such a website to exist and proliferate such a practice of hooking and degrading a mind successfully than any other social media outlet could, and almost getting away with encouraging even those who are 14-12 years and younger into very dodgy shorts of themselves.

That's fine for you individually speaking, even though we could argue that at some point, your reliance in Tik Tok formatted content would inevitably retard your mind's ability to think critically, logically, holistically, emotionally and creatively would get capped. There could be misunderstanding and conflating higher volume content and you multi-tasking with that content for increasing your intelligence and creativity and consciousness. That's debatably not the case at all.

However, we're talking about the potential and increasing harm that Tik Tok and other social media sites that mimic it's business modal can have to younger minds exposed to Tik Tok too early, causing developed ADHD and ADD syndromes, from just overusing fucking Tik Tok! And when that portion of the younger demographic continues to consume Tik Tok, and after 5-10 years later, I guarantee that those generations of people will have strong ADD symptoms that they would not be able to sit down and read a book, study and take notes on a course, research on something that needs higher and prolonged focusing. You won't be able to sit down and draw from observation, because too impatient for fucks sake!

And Tik Tok is almost antithetical to educating one's mind and making it stronger in order to be and become a creator with impact on the world, through whatever field or craft you want to contribute the world too. Majority of you that use Tik Tok too much can't answer basic world history. Some of you in Tik Tok thought Rome was in a fiction story, answer 5x6=25, can't name how many continents, let alone can't answer who fought in the American civil war. Tik Tok is like weather erosion, from rain, just water drips that slowly degrades one's ability to focus and think.
