Queen Elizabeth II has passed away

Does anyone see how absurd it is to make fun of people, especially when the death is too recent?

the queen worked alongside them during the second world war. When she was a princess she drove trucks and ambulances as she worked as a mechanic.

Extraordinary, let's not abolish the monarchy, lets double down on it and make every mechanic a prince / queen :D

Is this considered good mod behavior? ?

My impression of Actualized ethos and culture was to be radically skeptical, individualistic, and aware of all these traditionalist human games. Judging by Leo's comment in the thread, I think we're in the same camp.

Is it distasteful? Probably. However I don't really respect monarchies, or relics of tradition from a time where their power depended on oppression and actively working against the liberation of the common man (especially those of colour).

So yea, I hope she carries as many pieces of that past with her to the grave.

Fair enough, I mean he did say this forum has a left leaning bias, so I should have expected this level of respect, but I am still surprised people celebrate a person's passing, it's just distasteful, but maybe that's an internet norm or something.

But hey! Continue, don't let me ruin your parade, and to other users who want to party. Just saying this may give the wrong impression of what Actualized.org is for newcomers, see this behavior, and either get rejected by it, or party with little consideration of the immorality of the acts.

There was someone I hated for what that person did to one of my family members, but when I heard that that person's grandmother passed away violently in another country, I shut my mouth and kept quiet, because whether it's superstition or something to do with karma, I knew that something was at work that made that outcome come true, so from that point I made that rule of not being distasteful when someone dies.

Maybe this is what was really triggering me here, and to see how people are inviting a negative karmic backlash like this, is concerning, in a forum that is spiritual, this should be obvious.

Oh, is my grandmother going to die now?

Goes hand in hand with Trisha naming her baby Elizabeth (apparently a funny rumour)... had me in stitches,  esp. the part when she pops out a baby and a corgi.

Queen Elizabeth is on Canadian currency 20$ bill. I've seen her face my entire life. Why would the queen of england have anything to do with Canada? Good question! because she (and her ancestors) colonized Canada. This isn’t the only non-British country on which she stamped her face.

Quote

Queen Elizabeth is on Canadian currency due to her position as the Queen of Canada. In line with the Canadian Royal Mint tradition of including an effigy of the current monarch on Canadian coin, the Queen has been on Canadian currency since 1953. She joins Edward VII, George VI, and George VII.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

Probably is trolling.. Yeah.

On a serious note I'm curious the real social implications of her passing.

Reminds me of this Monty Python video.

Of course, condolences to the family and all of that. But you have to recognize that the institution of monarchy has no place in the 21st century. Carrying her casket around the entire country in a massive public procession and arresting anyone who dares to voice criticism of the institution feels more like North Korea than a Western democracy. You can't make it a huge public event, ding it in front of everyone's noses, and expect no one to notice how ridiculous it is.

That said, I'm curious what the future will bring. While Elizabeth was a PR master with little controversy to her name, the new King Charles and many others in the royal family are nothing like that. He's not very popular as he is. It seems like some red flags about his short temper are showing on the first day of his work. This might give some fuel to the pro-democracy, anti-Monarchie sentiment. Especially given the current state of affairs in the United Kingdom. Brexit, COVID, and now the energy shortage induced by the war have taken their toll on the British working class. If I were British and barely scraping by with long work hours, I wouldn't be thrilled to be paying for the extravagant lifestyle of that old hack King Charles.

That's not a fair comparison to compare the UK with North Korea.

Yeah. In North Korea they don't have a king or queen. They refer to their leader as "Respected Comrade".

No one in the British public discourse has criticized the institution of monarchy. Even the anti-authoritarian Russel Brand was talking as he walked on eggshells not to upset conservatives and royalists. The English monarchy is equal to huge power and privilege, which is selfishness, which is devilry, which is evil, from my point of view. Standing to close to corruption makes some blind to recognize it. Down with babylon.

Oh, scary! I didn't know we NEVER have criticism in the British public in all of history ever!

Agreed, if any of you feel so strongly, go make a separate thread and talk about it, maybe let a week pass to do so. It's just immoral to react like angsty children and froth at the mouth with left progressive and socialistic takes like in this thread when someone with symbolic power in a culture dies. It just doesn't look good at all, and further alienates people from seriously considering leaning left a bit.

You can feel free to mourn the loss of your slave-masters.

In the meantime, here's what the Irish have to say about that.
