My breakfast:

  • 3 organic eggs, scrambled on medium heat, slightly runny.
  • 3 super-thin slices of toasted 60-90% whole wheat bread.
  • 1/2 of a hand-sized fruit (e.g. orange, kiwi, apple, peach, etc.)

Spread the scrambled eggs equally on each slice of bread, eat them warm, and eat the fruit as a dessert.

And if you say "cholesterol" or "acrylamide", phOk you.

The only indication of whether something is healthy or not is how you feel after you eat it. Forget everything you ever Heard about food.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

That's one way to go about it but it sounds reductionistic too.

That a food makes you feel good in the short-term doesn't imply that it will have a positive effect on the body in the long-term.

Caffeine products, for example, may make you feel good just after eating them but aren't necessarily healthy -- low-quality chocolate, energy drinks, etc.

the question is "how should you feel"? Or is it a question of "how should you NOT feel"?

If a food makes you feel too stimulated for example, would you say that's good for long-term health?

If a food makes you feel very strong and horny all the time, you could also say that it is not good because you are encouraging too many genetic adaptations and too many anabolic processes (burning the candle of longevity from both ends) - excessive cellular proliferation also increases risk for unintentional genetic fuckups and that raises your risk uncontrolled replication (cancer)

A lot of what people call "ancestral foods" are foods that are supposed to make you feel strong and reproductively potent. If that is true and food is helping you achieve a supreme reproductive peak, it is also possible that the same food will lead to rapid downfall after the prime peak period because you have stacked up too many genetic adaptations and your cells are experiencing rapid telomere shortening leading to accelerated cellular ageing.

Novel foods (e.g. plants, plant proteins, grains etc) which perhaps cut away some of that prime peak but do not encourage so many genetic adaptations are maybe better for you over the long-term despite the fact that some people tolerate them worse (e.g. bloating, indigestion etc ) and they push you through life on more power-saving mode giving you less energy but also being less anabolic and less pro-carcinogenic.

One could ask if it is preferable to become a Liver King or Shawn Baker type of dude living on highly anabolic foods, being the alpha but at the same time encouraging the most rapid ApoB - proteoglycan binding in your arteries and getting that first bypass in your mid 40s or become more of skinnier type, surviving predominantly on novel foods and making it to your 70s with LDL below 100 mg/dL and normal blood pressure.

To answer the initial question, most likely you will feel the best after eating the foods that are highly adaptogenic (e.g. beef , eggs, meat) and those are the foods that would historically make you the strongest around your peak reproductive age. What happened after was not important as long as you could pass down your genes and reproduce successfully a few times. In our ancestral times, caring for old was a burden, not a privilege. the more old people your tribe would stack up, the more vulnerable the tribe would become so it was actually preferable to get very strong and then die relatively young as long as reproduction was successful. Ancestral foods are ideal to get you that far.

Since we have moved past that and achieving longevity is more preferable and we have developed infrastructure to care for the elderly and don't have to kill each other for food anymore, you could make an argument that eating foods that create soy boys rather than alpha tribal leaders are preferable if you intend to stick around for longer.

A long answer to a simple question :D

INGREDIENTS LIST FOR THE CILANTRO LIME SHRIMP WITH ZUCCHINI NOODLES

1 lb (450g) shrimp, shelled and deveined

2 + 1 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 pinch red pepper flakes (optional)

1/4 cup vegetable broth

1 teaspoon honey (optional for low-carb, keto diet.)

Juice of 1 1/2 lime

3 medium zucchini, spiralized or cut into noodles

Salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste

1 teaspoon lime zest

2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped

DIRECTIONS

1. In a bowl, combine 2 tablespoons olive oil, garlic, red pepper flakes, 1 tablespoon cilantro, honey, lime juice and lime zest. Add uncooked shrimp and toss to mix well. Marinate for 15 to 20 minutes.

2. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat, add the drained shrimp, cook for 2 minutes, flip, and add the marinade. Cook for 1 more minute and set the shrimp aside.

3. In the same skillet add vegetable broth to deglaze and simmer for 2 minutes. Add the zucchini noodles and cook until just tender, about 2 minutes. Add the shrimp and adjust seasoning. Toss everything and serve immediately topped with additional cilantro.

QUICK TIPS FOR MAKING GARLIC BUTTER SHRIMP:

You can use shrimp with tails on or off.

Buy shrimp (or prawns) already deveined, shelled and cleaned, your meal preparation will be much faster.

Frozen shrimp is okay for this recipe, but fresh wild-caught shrimp tend to have better flavor.

Cook the shrimp stirring frequently, until the shrimp is nice and pink and opaque. This will usually take2-4 minutes.
This cilantro lime shrimp cooks fast over-cooked shrimp is rubbery, tough and not pleasant to eat at all.

Fresh lime — Don’t go for the bottled stuff. use fresh lime juice for the

Cilantro — substitute with fresh parsley or basil if you don’t like cilantro.

Garlic — you could use garlic powder instead of garlic minced if you prefer

Red pepper flakes — you could use chili powder instead of red pepper flakes if you don’t like a bit of heat, leave it out altogether. Or for more heat, add more.

Honey — I love Honey in this. It balances out the acidity of the lime juice. optional for low-carb, keto diet.

Lime zest — if you don’t like, leave it out altogether.

Easy yogurt bowl for breakfast.

Ingredients

6 tbsp porridge oats

2 oranges

just under ½ x 200ml tub 0% fat Greek-style yogurt

60g pot raisins , nuts, goji berries and seeds.

Method

STEP 1

Put the oats in a non-stick pan with 400ml water and cook over the heat, stirring occasionally for about 4 mins until thickened.

STEP 2

Meanwhile, cut the peel and pith from the oranges then slice them in half, cutting down either side, as closely as you can, to where the stalk would be as this will remove quite a tough section of the membrane. Now just chop the oranges.

STEP 3

Pour the porridge into bowls, spoon on the yogurt then pile on the oranges and the fruit, nut and seed mixture.

A long answer to a simple question :D

Great point :D. Listening to the body and learning its language takes years of practice/luck to get a sense of and in the end your still left not knowing if your doing it right lol. It would be nice to have some tech monitors to track inflammation, gene adaptations and every stress marker in real time... life would be so much easier. ?

What are we to monitor? Here are some things i track from the top of my head.

Rules

  1. What is consumed must add to the system not take away from it. Example Coffee will give a temporary sprint of mental energy but will cause a crash that will drop the body in a lower state the next day as it recovers. Coffee forces the system to consume resources.
  2. Temporary drops in energy is expected when digesting heavy foods this isn't nessisariy a bad sign. Acquiring the nutrients from does foods is the purpose. Investing energy now for later benefits.
  3. Don't confuse the euphoria of eating something that tastes good with a foods nurturing properties.

Monitor

  1. Athletic performance/endurance. If i eat 12 bananas for example and do a sport right after the a result is 0 mental and physical energy. Id say this is a indication that bananas don't work for this body, but i could eat a extra large box of Mc-Fries and feel great! Same with eggs and meat it kills performance during digestion. This can be a sign a food is unhealthy or could be a sign the food is not to be used for physical performance but for other tasks or it could be the food is triggering a sensitivity/reaction in the body or ...
  2. The duration of muscle pump that comes from heavy lifting. The longer a pump last the healthier the system is at managing stress.
  3. Mental performance. Often this comes after eating a easy to digest meal, waiting for digestion to finish and exercising for a few hours. If what has been eaten prevents this then its over stressing the body.
  4. Sexual Energy. When not digesting erection strength should dethrone the gods. Ejaculatory volume and distance should reach over 2 meters :D. Foods that are easy to digest and replenish lost semen quickly are a strong indication of health.
  5. Rate of skin healing from injury. More a indication of many factors, not easy to use to identify healthy foods.
  6. Terrible smelling gas or inconsistent stools.
  7. Sleep quality. Eating fruits as the last meal of the day for this body causes waking up multiple times in the middle of the night.
  8. Body awareness should remain high at all times and if the food eaten increase mind chatter that's a sign of excessive inflammation and cortisol production.
  9. Excessive earwax or ear popping noises is a bad sign.
  10. Sexual energy goes to 0 during digestion is a bad sign.
  11. Sneezing seconds or minutes after eating something is the body telling you something.
  12. Healing rate of knees and joints after exercise.

Basically every indication of a healthy 20 year old body is something that can be tracked to evaluate a foods health within that body. With some rules to follow to avoid traps?
