Mega thread - Discussion of Male role models and list your male role model

This part is closer to toxic Masculinity. I don't like to see men fighting with each other. Let's not treat men like animals.

Able/capable to win a fight physically or intellectually dosen't mean always starting a fight. Subtle difference.

Men who are physically and intellectually strong do not start fights. But if the situation is demanding them to, they won't shy away.

If some person tries to rob you or insult you, you better have a strong man to defend you, not some man who is scared to fight. I bet toxic masculinity won't feel so toxic then.

P.S. it's the weak men who start fights anyway. [ Will Smith ]

@Bobby_2021 Disagree.

That just sounds mostly like stage orange and red role models to me.

Edit: If you were just stating your personal preference, rather than making an objective claim, then can ignore this post of mine

Yes of course, as a man you can't shrug orange/red/blue values under the rug. There is no yellow without blue.

Don't bring SD stages into every discussion because it will terribly fail short in real life. You won't check if something is red/blue before doing it. You would do what is necessary. And that the duty of men.

To do what is necessary.

The problem people are making when they judge some men qualities to be orange/red or whatever is that they assosiate those things to something negative that they have in their mind. There really is no downsides of having status, being sharp intellectually and being charismatic for example. Yeah it could be cool to have more other qualities as well, but those listed aren't bad. Why not have all good qualities of all spiral dynamic stages? Instead people should see that stages in spiral dynamics build top of each others and the whole building collapses if the level in under fails.

SD has become a quick and easy tool to categorise people and rank order them without having to engage in intellectual discussion about the fact of the matter, which is usually hard.

So no wonder why people always resort to using the SD to dismiss what is actually being said.

No one would say it's toxic masculinity, or red or blue or gree when you have a flat tire and a man is required to change it. Imagine if he cries in the middle of the road instead of changing the damn tires.

That's why a man must forever be physically fit and able to solve any problems that come his way without crying like a little bitch.

@Bobby_2021

Yeah I agree fully, because spiral dynamics isn't competition, but map to see where you have something to work on.

Who told you that "others" are real?

Why is it necessary that guys should have a ton of women drooling over them for them to take a spot as a role model?

Jordan Peterson has a healthy family life, married a woman he fell in love with, traditional style.

He is not going around chasing women, but he had a great career and a good head above his shoulders. Isn't that enough?

This new alpha male epidemic (likes of Tate) have been spreading this new trend where your worth as a man depends on how many women want your tattoo on them.

Sounds too egoic, insecure, cheap and less grounded in healthy Masculinity.

Jordan Peterson is insane. He's a preacher some of his ideas work but he's lost in the sauce and rambles for 20 minutes about nothing and comes to insane conclusions based on those ramblings

I was referring to his family life and not his ramblings.

I'm perfectly fine with a guy making money by rambling versus a guy like Tate who makes money by scamming men by charging them for useless advice and webcam girls.

@zurew why is it that every new alpha role model is involved in some fraud?

Something is fishy lol. xD

To clarify I said there’s few Male role models speaking about mens issues* not male role models that don’t speak about mens issues, there’s plenty of those already yes ?

Able to doesn’t mean you actually fight someone, but a little bit of self defence knowledge combined with physical fitness is good for mens confidence and actually decreases violence because they are more comfortable within themselves; I’ve been to Muay Thai for years and I’ve seen how much anger is take away from young men, how much it humbles them, how friendly they become because their aggressive ways are (instead of suppressed) channeled into a healthy outlet. This is what most men in the modern western world desperately need, not just for men, but for women as well. Whether you like it or not ladies, it’s still our duty to protect you, even if it’s only in a symbolic sense, rather than literally saving you from a mass shooter.

In any case its best to avoid a fight. Nobody wants a violent society.

To name some non real life examples I love Geralt and Rittersporn from the Witcher series. They combined would make a perfect role model imo.

-Geralt is all about masculine love. He doesn’t like to kill, he only does it when it has to be done. In the last episode of the second series there was a scene that gave me goosebumps. He was basically in deep love with a powerful women who turned out to be manipulative and selfish and was actively super destructive regarding Geralts higher cause. In this scene Geralt cought her and was ready to cut off her head even though he was still in deep love with her. It’s a bit like the will smith scene with the zombie dog that Leo talked about in one of his videos.

-Rittersporn is in a way similar to Geralt in that he does things for a higher cause even though it’s against his survival agenda. He actively brings himself in danger as an artist or when he joins Geralt or when he helps the elves and all of that just to find a way to live with a higher purpose. And in all of that he is charismatic, honest, faithful and always jokes around. And in all of that this personality seems believeable if he had some mystical experiences.

Don’t have a lot of real life examples honestly. Alan Watts to 80% probably but he was kind of a dick when it comes to his family life I think. So to much stage blue shadow. Leo Gura to 70% maybe. His teachings lack lightness, compassion etc. but he is great at being decisive, clear and making wake up calls imo. Jordan Peterson to 40% maybe. Otherwise just bits and pieces from different people.
