Sex Work as Life Purpose?

22 posts in this topic

OK. This is just hypothetical. Is it possible for someone to be passionate about this stuff? Doesn’t have to be porn specifically. I’d say MOST are in it purely for the $$$ but I wonder if there’s someone out there who is genuinely fulfilled by pursuing this kind of work. Thoughts on this? ?

Probably tbf.

I mean you could be a sex worker and see it as a means of connecting with and relating to folk from lonely demographics of society.

When I see all the single women around sometimes I think I'd enjoy being a male prostitute if I got too pick all my clients Haha

You do get to discriminate your clients, sex work is an unregulated industry. It will just hurt your business though and your volume.

I played with the idea of becoming a male stripper. I couldn’t see myself being insecure about anything anymore if I did that for a few years.

I think a life purpose could be inspired by sexuality, but I doubt it'd manifest as pornography or prostitution. Adyashanti sometimes asks students to teach: Myoku focuses on sacred sexuality.

If you're a nympho and masturbate 5+ times a day you might as well do it on stream and get paid for it I guess.

For guys I don't think there's much opportunity. Omegle is filled with all the free live dicks anyone could want. And most women don't want to get off to just pure visuals. But there seems to be no saturation point to OnlyFans or streams for women.

For male prostitutes I believe the vast majority are "gay for pay" and not a ton of female clients. Same problem, women can just go to a bar and pick pretty much any guy to have sex with for free, so why pay for it.

If I was a female I feel like I would strongly consider it. Not as a life purpose, but just as an easy way to make money for 5 - 10 years and ultimately use that for my life purpose. Kinda like how Amouranth is doing OF mainly to fund her dream of running an animal rescue eventually.

I guess sexuality can also manifest itself through art like music, videos, paintings, etc. It probably wouldn’t be considered sex work at that point.

The simple answer - no.

I'm tired of how people constantly elevate sex to something Godly.

It's just pleasure. Biological pleasure and sometimes emotional pleasure because it helps people bond.

Sex = comfort eating

@Lila9 You could do only fans. I think if you need money it's a pretty good alternative to traditional sex work.

It's funny you say that. I stumbled across a video explaining the different types of orgasms a guy could actually have. He compared prostate orgasms to states you can reach on psychedelics. Not comparing this to sex work or anything but I thought that was pretty interesting.

I have considered it before and I still think about it when I feel frustrated by my low income job and by my chances to ever improve my financial state as someone who came from an extremely poor family.

But I probably will never do that because I don't want to spend my time as a masturbation tool for lonely men. I also don't care about lonely and horny men that much. There are other things that I care more about and given that we all have one life, I want to do better things, even if they won't improve my finances.

You'd be surprised how far you can go without exposing yourself too much. I know someone who's literally escaped wage slavery and she shows nothing more than a bikini does.

I don't think it's a good alternative and for me it's the same as being a traditional sex worker.

I'm not sure that in reality it's that easy and glorious as it sounds and if it does, there is certainly a price she pays that we aren't aware of.

I don't know. I talked with one very experienced mistress, she told that you can.

That's fair, I would be hesitant to do sex work too unless i had no good alternatives.

I think something like OF is between modelling and traditional sex work. And if we're working normal jobs, we are all slaves in a very real sense. Even though I think it's a decent alternative, I think most guys would be very turned off by their partner doing OF so there's that element too

This is an interesting conversation about having sex work as your life purpose. Also - why not? If you are creative and conscious about this, I think it can be an amazing life purpose.

@Nilsi  Wow, that was really quite eye-opening. This is exactly what I was talking about!!

I was starting to fall into the idea that there wasn't any real connection to a higher purpose through this work, but that conversation really dismantled that belief. Thank you for sharing this

I considered it at some desperate moments in my life and came to the conclusion that I prefer to clean toilets for the rest of my life (or doing any low wage job) rather than having OF or doing SW. I might sound primitive but I don't feel like it's natural for me to share my body with strangers no matter how much money is involved. I would feel like I'm betraying myself and I can't live with that.

I'm sure that some women see it as a decent way to earn money and it's somehow connecting with their personality and lifestyle or with some psychological trauma that they are trying unconsciously to heal by doing that. I'm sure there are men who specifically attracted to this kind of women, but I'm not sure they are the healthiest ones.
