Thank you for sharing - I was not aware of this election. I hope other democracies follow suit by continuing to elect leaders who take climate change seriously.

Indeed. We need more leaders in the world who will contribute to the much needed progress of our world.

I look briefly at the Wikipedia articles of the parties involved upon seeing this post.

It’s really nice how Australia now has a working class interest Government. Last time Australia had a labor Government, they were one of the least corrupt countries in the world on par with Scandinavia. Under the liberals, they dropped and being corrupt on par with South America. The Liberals are also against a ‘anti-corruption commission’.

The Labor Party, though not Socialist (they’re Social Democrats, which is disappointing), are at least a working class party.

Yeah, I wish that the Democrats in America genuinely tried to support the working class again like they used to in the old days.

The Democrats never supported the working class.

The ‘New Deal’ was only passed to stop a Communist uprising, which many Americans did support, and not because of the suffering caused by the Great Depression. Reps and Dems don’t care how many people suffer as a result of the Great Depression, they do care when Socialism/Communism gets popular, only then do they act.

I like albo and I think he will form a coalition  with the Green Party which now has a couple seats in the Aussie parliament.
imagine if the us had the Green Party in congress, sheesh.

Good result. Hopefully Labor forms an outright majority. I’d rather them not have to negotiate with the Greens.

The new Teal independents seem quite interesting. Affluent people who’ve had it with the conservatives?
