Well, I have studied this subject in a university setting. There are theories out there on social and cultural factors, neurology etc.. Tbh, all of them are better than yours.. no offense.

It depends on how you define being in something.

How can you be in something and know the outside of it, if everything is outside of you? But even that is not true, because that means that you weren't in something in the first place. Which means that there isn't an outside of you. It is a direct experience. By direct, I mean, something that comes first before thinking or talking about it. Before everything you know.

@BenG When you awaken to yourself as God you will see that you are everything and are in fact me.

"this body" because God is everything and you are God.

If you investigate your story more, and see what you value. Then you will understand what is special to you about this one rather than another and maybe there is a pattern to how you are structuring it. This is just bias/survival which isn't bad but rather a mechanism keeping our narrative afloat. 

You have to discover for yourself why you structured yourself this way. You did it.

Peeling off the ego will be necessary for this I think. Being too identified with the structure will inhibit you.

The structure is actually nothing. You are nothing, and nothing is God.

Perhaps the self-other duality is an illusion, but I'm more interested in understanding why the illusion is there in the first place.

I do my best to look to my own source of knowing which in the best case scenario is direct experience.

Other people can also be useful for giving pointers. They can point out my blind spots and stuff like that.

But see, this whole conversation is not letting you to know it. This is the problem.

Which doesn't mean that it is not helpful. Right now, I am kind of helping, but also not.

If can do psychedelics do that or other spiritual practices to get this.
