Why do I have such a low level cap irl?

22 posts in this topic

I tick most of the privilege boxes. White male, no disabilities, educated, tall, middle class background etc. etc.

As far as I can work out, being born prematurely as well as having several minor but impactful incidents like bouncing off my parents bed when I was 2 and needing stitches, someone throwing a rock through our family's car windscreen (didn't hit anyone) and perhaps having a socially anxious mother, also bit of an insecure (but successful) father, boomer parents who don't know much about "the self" the way communities like this do, resulted in me turning up to school feeling nervous and not wanting to explore the environment and socialise.

My personality test results show that I'm very introverted and not very conscientious. I'm 37 years old now and I live a fairly hermit-like life outside of my administrative job.

I'm intelligent and did well at school and I did have friends but work always felt way more difficult and I never progressed beyond a low-level job, despite trying different projects and teams and even a different organisation. I also had psychodynamic therapy for two years and saw a life coach, so I know how to set reasonable goals and work towards them but I still feel overwhelmed by the thought of spending more time around people or trying to progress career-wise which seems to require bigger changes. I took a few low-level counselling courses and loved them but the thought of committing to a proper diploma, which I've tried twice now, created so much stress in me, for weeks, that I simply had to let the idea go, for fear of the stress affecting my health. I think this mostly relates to actually meeting clients as a trainee for real. I'm not really interested in any other subjects though.

At this rate I'm worried I'll become one of those millennials who are expected to be homeless when they're too old to work, because rents will keep rising faster than pensions. I couldn't afford, or handle the commitment of buying a house and my low income will mean that I have a small pension.

Any thoughts from the community would be welcome and I'd be happy to elaborate on any of the above.

It sounds like you really would enjoy doing that. What other alternatives could you try that are similar? Maybe other things that don't require a degree?

1) You have to understand that we're not all built the same. Some people just aren't built for climbing the corporate ladder or for university. This is okay. You just gotta look for other niches in life where you will fit more naturally.

2) You have to understand that we don't all have the same energy levels or physical or mental capacities. Some people are just more energetic or more robust or even healthier than others. Again, you must find a place for yourself in life which honors your energy level and physical and mental health. You just may not be able to work as hard as someone else. But this doesn't mean you can't find a good niche and be well-off. You have to find the right position for you and work smarter not harder.

3) There is enormous opportunity in the world every year. But it takes passion to seek them out and capitalize on them. I think your biggest problem is lack of clarity about your passions. You say you're not interested in any other subjects. This is a problem. You need to connect more with your passion and curiosity for life. There are so many cool aspects of reality to study, explore, build, etc. You gotta what those are for you. To do well in a job you gotta be passionate about it and it has to suit your energy level, personality type, and health. Try to find something cool to pour your life into.

I would add one thing to what Leo said which may or may not match up to your experience. I've seen with many people who are born into "good enough conditions" who can pretty much do "anything they choose" but who choose nothing and end up in a very boring life devoid of any excitement or passion. I would guess the reason for this is that you were brought up in an environment where risk was heavily discouraged and safety/security was heavily encouraged. Your whole environment (parents, school, etc...) was set up to guarantee a minimum/base level of comfort that would guarantee not dying/not being a social failure/not ending up unemployed etc... there was very little of focus on passion, taking smart risks, principles for building your own life.

I feel in the generations before us this deep fear of "slipping through the cracks" of society. It's almost like because they were the first generations to go through life without belonging to a religious community and lacked this mutualized this risk of "slipping through the cracks" they adopted this mentality of accumulating a maximum number of positive social indicators (good manners, diploma).

All of this is evident when you talk about the stress of going through with a diploma. It is like inherent in your thinking, a negative outcome is weighted so disproportionately heavily compared to a positive outcome. In order to overcome this you will have to imagine a positive outcome for yourself that is so exciting for you that you are willing to take on the potential consequences of failing because succeeding would be so great. When you find something that resonates with you on a deep enough level, you won't need motivation or advice from anyone, it will just flow out of you.

@Leo Gura How does one increase their energy levels? Prana? Kundalini? Chi? Wakefullness? Brainfog? Theta-beta levels? Vitamins? Etc.

I would pay a million dollars for the answer.

I have not found any way to increase my energy level. I think most of it is just your genetics. Of course you can remove obstacles that sap your energy, like by not eating the wrong food, but your genetics come with a certain baseline of energy which I don't know can be changed.

Increasing your energy is more like removing obstacles which sap whatever your baseline energy is. Remove as many obstacles as you can, and then accept yourself as you are.

Ahhh, probably #1-2 question in my current agenda as well

I'm not trolling or anything, but I found that I get a huge burst of energy when I'm getting a blowjob. That's really strange and bizarre, can't explain it. Also getting a blowjob makes me creative af while the process is happening. Not sure if it's my genetics or it's like this for everyone but I find it rather fascinating and cool.

Though other than that, girfriends\girls can sap your energy pretty badly with mundane stuff :(

Do everything your body was designed to do.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

I've gone fairly long time without jerking off. It doesn't give me more energy, just makes me stupidly horny.

@Leo Gura  I hope you'll find something that helps your energy eventually.

What worked for me the past years was putting in more and more physical energy during the day. It's counter-intuitive, but it worked like: give energy to get energy. Now I have the physical energy to walk any distance, I can probably work construction, travel with a bicycle, and I train every day.

Removing distractions and doing nothing for awhile gives me a certain clarity as to the potential for increased energy.

Relaxing at a profound level physically, mentally and emotionally seems to be an effective principle in this regard.

Fasting and semen retention. Consistent sleep schedule. Exercising daily. Cold showers. Meditation. Breathing.

As Leo has already alluded to, it's more about substraction than addition.

Changing your disposition is underrated.

That sounds nice but that doesn't work for me. You can't put in energy you don't have.

People who are able to do such things take their health for granted. Only a healthy body can generate that much energy from pushing it. If I push myself too hard I don't get energy, I get sick.

There's something called "Sexual Transmutation"

I haven't researched it yet but i intuitively feel that it makes sense

Like Transmuting "The Shadow"

Learning how to ReChannel/Canalize the "Horny-ENERGY" into Another form of Creation

It makes me think of how you can ReChannel your "Victim-Energy" into "100%Responsibility-Energy"

(instead of burning energy worrying & escaping reality, canalize it into figuring out solutions)

Isn't Horny a form of Energy ?

What if you Canalized this energy into giving energy to get more energy

Sexual-Energy needs a Medium, i would assume that Ejaculation is Just ONE of Multiple Mediums.
