The Desire to know who and what you are. If “you” are uncertain about Anything, thoughts arise. That’s how Reality was created. A single thought of: “Who Am I?”

There is no “one” thinker. The one created is the actual thought being created by itself. Sense of self comes with the thoughts or the questions.

There seems to be a someone thinking thoughts in accordance with his or her societal conditioning.

But don't buy into it because nothing is actually happening in reality!

Absolute perspective: No one and God.

Relative perspective: you, a psychic non-physical being. Hard to pinpoint and to perceive what that is but from the relative perspective, it is very real and has free will and can control thoughts if it puts effort into it.

You are explaining a perception (thinking) using other perception (neurons in the brain). This may be relevant on a scientific level, but not relevant to Consciousness work.

Nothing is thinking. Thoughts appear, but no one is thinking them actually. Internal chatter is a function of being a self and creating polarities and narratives to manipulate perceptions and serve the self. If you watch the internal chatter, it usually comprises of: labelling objects in relation to the self; asserting characteristics or value to objects in relation to the self; planning a future for the self; self-criticizing; self-views; etc.

So it is about creating internal stories that serve the conceptual self in some way. In other words, internal chatter is a side-effect of creating a self/other dichotomy in Consciousness. Observe your thoughts and see if thinking is all about the self or not.

The mind is making the thoughts like the heart is making heartbeats.

I think desire is the root of thought.

Zero desire = no mind activity = absorbtion into samadhi probably.

That's why the end of desire is the end of you and enlightenment/liberation in buddhism i think.

I would have to assume that there is a source before there is a "What" that makes it.

When  there is thought. I either recognize that there is thought, or not. They come and they go, so to speak.

Thought is just a process, like a tree blowing in the wind. So in that sense there is no thinker, just like there is no "winder".

Thoughts appear yes, but why give them any special status over any other process or appearance that appears in reality?

So, Reality thinks, the All thinks. Just like Reality shoots lava out of volcanoes, wipes an ass, or shoots up heroin. These are all process in the All and none of them have special status over another.

None of them have a "doer" behind them making them happen, since that would require something more than one. And all there is, is oneness, or the All.

If thoughts is a process. Then it stil takes thoughts to appear, before we can lable and think of them as a process. So we can't lable the thoughts as a process prior to the thoughts happening. This process have to be a thought. Just as this conclution that was just made, is a thought.

We can talk about what we thought about in the past. But you can't speak of a thought process that will happen tomorrow. We can be confident to assume that thought processes will occur in a expected tomorrow showing up and presenting itself as today.
