Why don't you actually make your sex deeply spiritual instead?

Same for your masturbation.

You're taking sex so for granted.

Can you elaborate on this? How would this look like in practice?

The first 2 weeks I was horny all day every day. I barely thought of anything else, so it was difficult to focus on college work. So much for superhuman focus and work ethic.

I did have a lot of energy. Most of it was pure sexual frustration that I had to channel into other tasks that I did half-heatedly. I truly did not want to do anything other than the nearest guy.

Thanks for sharing your experience! This is me right now haha 9_9. I've been incredibly unproductive at work since I've stopped masturbation, I think of sex all day. Thankfully I'm working from home next week so I should have less distractions... Did you abstain from all sexual activities during the 90 days?

After 2 weeks, I reached the "flat line" where I had 0 arousal. It was more peaceful I guess. I got more work done than the past couple weeks but not more than before I began the experiment. I started to feel that life was bland and routine. I did what was needed without much inspiration. When I broke my vow purity, I came in about 5 seconds. The slight depression lifted.

I'd like to experience this. I don't know if I'll be able to though, since I'm only really doing no fap during the week days.

I suggest people here read people addict to drugs, for me, addiction to orgasm is the same.

now you can say "nah I need sex, it's just repression"

The comparison to drug addiction seems silly to me. Drugs are clearly harmful to you when you become addicted

Saying you are addicted to sex is kind of like saying you are addicted to water, air or food. You have a natural biological requirement towards these things, it isn't addiction. You do not have a natural biological drive towards hard addictive drugs

However, we are all abusing these basic needs. The need for food turns into endless binging of sweets and fast food. The need for sex turns into marathons of porn consumption. Your brain is not wired to health, your brain is wired to multiplication of every dopamine hit it can get.

If you give certain dogs an endless supply of food, they will eat themselves to death. Metaphorically thats happening with humans as well.

So water fasting or NoFap can actually give you a new perspective on your needs. At the end there is a huge spectrum of how you fulfill your needs in healthy and unhealthy ways.

@something_else  natural is good ?

It's natural for some insects to eat the head of the male when having copulation.

Venom from snake is natural.

What I mean is. Being hacked by nature evolution is a thing. But hacking your biology with your mind is maybe better to not get your head eaten.

I've personally never met a guy who didn't like having their head eaten during copulation. xD

I kid.. I see your point.

Just so that it's official - If I were a woman I'd masturbate all day every day. Thank you for listening. Continue.

I don't like this comparison because you can point to the damage caused by excessive consumption of sweets and fast food but you can't do the same with porn and masturbation

Most of the NoFap evidence is anecdotal. Which is not to say wrong, but simply that it isn't great to go around claiming no-fap is the way to go when really there isn't a whole lot of concrete evidence for it. That is the main point I wanted to get across here

I'm not anti-no-fap, I'm just against no-fappers who are dead certain (and love to preach) that masturbation is extremely harmful for guys with little reason for thinking that way other than ideology and heresay

I think this is a healthy way to view NoFap. I agree that it would definitely give you a healthy perspective on your needs. I disagree with demonising masturbation, though

The most obvious benefit is it will improve your sex life. after about a week of nothing, having sex will feel like you're a virgin again. connection with partner will be better.

If you got a partner the need to fap should naturally be greatly reduced anyway.

@Leo Gura If i may ask you a personal question, how often do you fap and how do you access the central executive function to decide if it's an appropriate or inappropriate time to? I struggle with building that agency and swing between moralization and hedonism.

I could grant the (hypothetical) benefits for men since with each ejaculation we do lose a little bit of nutritional content and some energy that went into that although I don't think the damage is as significant as nofap community would have you believe.

For female tho, you aren't really losing anything and it appears orgasm for women is more energising an rejuvenating where for guys it often is more sedating. If you enjoy occasional masturbation, there is no need to restrict yourself, it is a completely normal process and should not be demonised so much.

But of course you won't know unless you try :)

My boyfriend works 10-12 hour days right now, we don't live together so it's hard to meet during the week. I don't know how often people crave it, but 4 days without sexual activities seems really long for me.

I mean, I guess if you use the word "addiction" super loosely. Have you ever known someone who was addicted to drugs, or a serious alcoholic? I have, and I don't think you can get to that place through looking at too many pixelated titties.. just saying.

Yeah, I can agree with that for the most part. I have a few vices of my own that I'm working to moderate better.

Then with the greatest respect you're ignorant and should pass over the topic with silence. Anything that acts on dopaminergic or serotonergic system can become addictive.

My dad was a heroin addict (died from an overdose), and my mum was an alcoholic, and I was addicted to sex (500+ partners) and pornography and had withdrawals that lasted 3 years (post acute withdrawal), so I would say Im qualified to speak on this topic

Ive been mostly celibate and nofap for 3 years, so I've been on all sides of the spectrum - I speak from direct experience.

I didn't mean to imply I know better than anybody. Sorry if it came across that way. :)

I am pro no fap but it's unrelated to sex.

I am pro sex like all of the no fappers, the point of no fap is to motivate you to fulfil your sexual desires how it's meant to be, there is no thing as too much sex, besides that is an inversion of the problem for most of us guys out there lool.

Women shouldn't even think about this topic imo, I would want my girl to be masturbating, if she isn't masturbating & thinking about me like a clingy dog 24/7 while I'm gone then goodbye half - hearted chica.
