this makes a lot of sense to me.  do you disagree with leo when he says everyone acts from good intentions?

Yeah id disagree, you can definitely act from bad intentions as in you know what youre doing is going to cause harm. A good example is psychopaths, they may want someone to suffer or they may just want something and not care if someone gets hurt in the process of them getting it, however psychopaths literally cannot feel empathy. Another way to say it is they lack awareness around other peoples pain to the point where they cant even understand it, given this its easy to see how they could commit harmful acts at the very least not caring about the harm and at worst doing it to specifically cause harm but either way they dont have consciousness to appreciate what theyre actually doing.

When you consider we're all on the psychopath spectrum, its easy to see how you can momentarily lack empathy and cause harm. There are of course many cases where people are trying to do good and are causing harm as well.

@Ineedanswers Intentions are validated relative to one's survival agenda. Nazis cared about the survival of themselves but not others. Same with rapists.

Intrinsic joy is revealed in the marriage of meaning and being.

I think the biggest point is that when we say that Absolutely everything is Good we want to be careful and not condone what is relatively evil - such as Hitlers actions.   When someone said Hitler ordered the assassination of six million Jews - and someone then says - well absolutely speaking he was doing it with good intentions- that is injecting the Absolute into the realm of the relative.  It's two differenent conversations and one should not he used when discussing Hitlers actions from the relative sense.   Because then it seems like we were condoning his behavior by leveraging the Absolute.  This is a big mixup in my opinion.

I'd disagree slightly, you dont even have to see what Hitler did from the absolute perspective to say he had good intentions, if you just look from his and nazi Germany's perspective, it was committed from positive intentions, they wanted to rid the world of what they considered evil. Imagine really believing what the nazis did, like truly believing they were saving mankind, of course you would think that is from good intentions.

There was an interesting film made around Indonesians in power who slaughtered 1000s of their own citizens, which i think is quite relevant to the topic -

I'm not debating this.  What I'm saying is to use this as a weapon to justify his actions is ignorant.   As long as we aren't doing this it's fine.  But if you say the killing of 6 million jews is good when we are speaking in the relative domain then ide say your just as insane as him.

Im not saying its good or justifying his actions obviously, im saying from Hitlers and nazi Germany's perspective it was 'good', they didnt think they were doing something bad they believed they were doing something good for humanity, most wars people think they are doing something good even if theyre invading, this has happened throughout history. Its all just a matter of perspective and if your area of concern is only your tribe then of course everyone outside of it are other and therefore bad. Look at the mongals, or persians or romans or any empire you can think of, there was enormous bloodshed and death, rape etc but they from their perspective were not the bad guys, they were the heroes!

On the micro level we do not know that. Maybe they thought it is wrong but were not able to act differently.

Could be,  the only way to get an idea is when you've done something that with hindsight you consider wrong, how did you feel at the time pf doing it?

Actually study these so-called "evil" people and you'll see they have some kind of positive intentions they are pursing with their "evil" actions.

Nazis have good intentions. Stalin had good intentions. Mao had good intentions. Terrorists have good intentions. Putin has good intentions. Even school shooters have good intentions. Etc.

When you made that video that everyone operates from good intentions that was the video I had the hardest time dealing with months ago. But that video was the gateway. I have realized that the hardest thing for most people to grasp is that concept. The concept of selfishness, that we all are devils, and that the key to doing good is to stop seeing evil. That what separates us from God and others is our selfishness and it is the cause of all evil we do in all degrees. All attachments creates evil, and only your level of awareness mitigates the degree of the evil that you do.

I'm so thankful for you video though Leo because that video truly opened everything up for me. I really wish Curt could see the limits of logic. He is such a smart man, what put me in a position to even hear your message was my understanding of the limits of logic. As such I opened my mind to the possibility that I maybe missing something in regards to how God perceives life. Its funny because most people don't want to see things as God sees it. They want to cling to their petty selfish perspectives.....I'm like what's the point? The moment you can see life through God's eyes its like you just put in an Infinity Code in a video game.

You are a selfless LACK OF APPEARANCE, that CONSTRUCTS AN APPEARANCE. But that appearance can disappear and reappear and we call that change, we call it time, we call it space, we call it distance, we call distinctness, we call it other. But notice...this appearance, is a SELF. A SELF IS A CONSTRUCTION!!!

So if you want to know the TRUTH OF THE CONSTRUCTION. Just deconstruct the construction!!!! No point in playing these mind games!!! No point in creating needless complexity!!! The truth of what you are is a BLANK!!!! A selfless awareness....then that means there is NO OTHER, and everything you have ever perceived was JUST AN APPEARANCE, A MIRAGE, AN ILLUSION, IMAGINARY.

Everything that appears....appears out of a lack of appearance/void/no-thing, non-sense (can't be sensed because there is nothing to sense). That is what you are, and what arises...is made of that. So nonexistence, arises/creates existence. And thus everything is solved.

Oh and one last thing....the absurdity to question the existence of God....

All of life is proof of God's existence. Leo did a video talking about engineering. If you truly understand how deeply balanced and in unison everything works from the solar system scale to the molecular level scale. This engineering is so complex, there is NO WAY that God doesn't exist. This should show you that no matter how intelligent someone is, they are NOT IMMUNE to delusion. DELUSION is a snake....it is SNEAKY.

@Leo Gura But good intentions steaming from hatred cannot be the same as good intentions steaming from understanding and desire for mutual wellbeing, or just simply love.

There’s only the story appearing now. And not even that.” — Byron Katie
