What are your thoughts on India as a country?

69 posts in this topic

I am a young Indian. Also proudly an actualizer, I know that a lot of people belong from all corners of the world.

Now I would love you all to tell me what are your general views about India and the overall cognitive/consciousness situation here.

I am open to any questions you can ask me related to India.

It seems so rich with culture and history. Beautiful people, beautiful art. I hope to visit some day.

I have also visited twice. I love it. To me India feels alive, diverse, vibrant and warm. Coming from northern europe, the people there in general seem quite authentic and not too self-concerned. There's a warm and fuzzy feeling to India and Indian people, at least for me. Of course the food is amazing.

Still lots of problems, no doubt, but I find India and Indian people in general tend to have a very solid core of warm heartedness that will be an excellent springboard for the future development of the country.

Human rights and women's rights record is a problem. Also population.

Most women don't feel safe or nurtured. Indian culture shames it's women a shit ton.

There is nothing like animal rights or rights of children.

Child abuse and the abuse of women is rampant.

The Patriarchy is cruel towards women and children, both being treated like slaves.

Feminism is hated and looked down upon.

Racism and communal hatred is common. If you don't speak the local language, you get treated badly.

There is groupism. The unity is fake. In reality people stay in groups. You get a different treatment if you don't originally belong to the place, you're treated like an outsider and people are racist towards each other, in the sense the discrimination is based on differences in skin color, language, culture, place of birth within the country.

Only city bred women feel slightly liberated and free. Rest feel trapped in the system.

There is widespread corruption and poverty.

Ethics are never followed in any discipline or field.

There is stage Blue Dogma everywhere and little freedom of speech

Anyone who says anything against the government is arrested. Inflation is high.

Law enforcement is next to nothing. Zero support unless you are mega rich.

Medical services are so poor that most people die either due to the lack of it or because of it. Doctors are never held accountable.

The country is rife with malpractices everywhere.

If you are super healthy, mega rich and smart and have robust family support, then your life in India will be slightly better than other poor, unhealthy, unlucky people.

Most middle class people suffer terribly and their entire life is a struggle just for survival.

India is all about survival in the harshest conditions, like survival in a jungle and most people can't make it through this survival challenge unless they are super smart, psychopath and rich.

Indian system does not punish criminal behavior, in fact those who play  politics and prefer to stay silent on injustice/malpractice, those who are Dishonest and clever, those who know social politics, those who dominate and control are encouraged and given more power than those who are truthful, honest and vulnerable.

India is not egalitarian. It's a slavish system where the most powerful wins the cake and all others are slaves to this power.

Pure stage Red /stage Blue power dynamics at play.

Most Indian people live a life of fear, stress, worry, insecurity, uncertainty rather than freedom or health.

Most Indian people die prematurely due to extreme stress of living conditions and social evil and lack of living resources.

Many innocent children die in India everyday due to malpractice by parents or system or child abuse of some form that usually goes unnoticed or simply neglected because most people are dealing with their own problems.

India has a lot of evil in it and it won't go away because law enforcement and justice system  is a big joke.

Travel in India is not safe unless you are staying for a short time. If you are a woman from another country traveling in India, get your boyfriend or some bodyguard with you.

Rape is a rampant problem in India and sociopathy towards women is not actively discouraged, men simply talk about it..

seems like the rape issue is more of a recent thing (last decades)

my mother was in india in the early 80s and felt very safe there as a woman, even travelling alone often

i also generally felt safe there

Good parts of India—

Food, organic products, low divorce rate, low homicide rate (not low rape rate), old music, Classical music, and support for Ayurveda and natural living, and yes spirituality.

I can't speak of that because I didn't exist in the 80s.

I think women back then felt safe because they mostly stayed in the house.

Now most women go out. This has increased the crime rate.

Also in older  India, there was a huge influence of religion which meant that most men were scared to touch a woman, rape would have probably been considered ungodly. This is just my speculation.

Today the influence of religion is wearing thin. Social pressure on men is wearing thin. Society is getting more sociopathic as the hold of  religion is vanishing.

India is traditionally a very religious society. So religion played a fundamental role in maintaining ethics in ancient India.

But today, all of that religious pressure is gradually disappearing. So people feel free to commit crime without feeling any pressure to answer their religion/God. Now the untamed nature is coming out.

The recent wave of westernization in India bought feminism which is good but also porn and western Barbarism and violence which is ruining India, they see western stuff on TV and then they want to try that stuff here. Obviously because of a poor law enforcement system, these nefarious things are not controlled or regulated.

India's recent crime rate has a lot to do with westernization and loss of touch with god/godliness/spirituality.

i also think it has to do with the internet.

when you're living in a more "closed" society country

and you see hot womens and porn on the internet, that's not a good mix

India looks rad!! I don't want to generalize but most Indian people I've met are very kind and considerate. WAY more so than other peoples. The food is AMAZING and my favorite kind of food by far. Their cities while suffering from pollution/overpopulation (like many places), do have lot of beauty and color that other places don't have from what I've seen. Culturally they seem generally more spiritual and appreciate of simple stuff, and that it's my kind of place. However hat might just be from travel vlogs I've seen giving a warped perception.

If I ever travel to Asia, India will be at the top of the list for me. I'd like to visit some temples, jungles, and mountains. I'm not sure how I'll handle the crowds as I don't like large groups of people and overly busy places. But it would be an experience for sure.

@Vivaldo What cities are generally best for foreigners to visit for a few weeks based on what I've said?

Oh man, Love it. I’m gonna update this comment. I am just collecting my thoughts. I think as an Indian living in the west I have nuanced thoughts in this topic.

As an Indian I would agree to most of Points said by preety.

India differs from parts to parts, south is entirely different than North. North is mostly full of stage purple and blue. south is mix of blue, orange and green.  (Cant blame north, they went through all invasion)  people are strongly idnetified with culture, since culture is the religion.

India is a beautiful piece of art with all chaos fully embraced.

You will have to explain your reason behind stating that or I will report you.

Is that how fucking brainwashed you are and what's wrong with pigs per say? Aren't they peaceful creatures?

Your sense of humour is fucking broken

There's no logical reason behind it.

It's just a stupid joke. It's funny because it's retarded.

I guess it's a cultural difference.
