Yea I can relate lol. The only difference being that my grandmother never called my mom a moron. But she called me that. An aberration in the normal flow. 

Sometimes people are abusive even when they are treated well at home. This is especially true with narcissists.

Yes. Trauma not transformed is trauma transferred. It gets passed down from generation to generation, until someone is strong enough to deal with it.

This really helps to appreciate one's own parents too. I once was mad that my dad shared some really fearful perspectives so I asked some questions about his childhood and was and was shocked at how much he had evolved from how he was raised. I went from mad to appreciative and amazed quite quickly.

There is nothing that can be considered sweeping in reality. You don't know what others really want or don't want. Everyone is far too individual for that.

Love is to let others be the way they want it to be and not the way you want it to be.
