Is paying 8000$ for an online marketing consultant crazy?

49 posts in this topic

I am about to be certified in Qigong and breathwork to be able to teach.

I am considering working with an online consultant who specializes in these niches getting teachers high paying clients for online courses.

He seems legit, and if things go well 8000 isn't that much to pay in the long run.

What are your thoughts?

This is the website he runs:

@Thought Art I would wait to invest in marketing until you have a decent amount of experience working with people, and you know you can help people.

If you have lots of money and 8000 is no big deal then I would go for it, but otherwise I would be cautious.

So he would help you create an online course about qigong? Or he would help you get clients for 1-1 conversations?

The best things in life are cheap.for example the greatest enlightened masters and yogis teach for cheap.and then there is yogi bhajan who is a rapist ,bad person who made up a new branch of yoga called kundalini yoga which has nothing to do with skill and is a scam he charged hefty fees.for anyone to get authorised he charge them 3000 dollars and 10%of their profit back in 80s and 90s

I think 8000 dollars is insanely high.i think u should stay away do more research go deeper and deeper into research and at some point u will find a real deal which is affordable.

Tony robins is costly but leo is affordable

Srf (most shit kriya yoga lineage) is costly while KYI(somewhat, relatively),householder lineage is affordable

Krav maga is costlu while boxing is affordable.

I am making a generalisation but real deals are affordable

It's a holistic program:

1. Marketing

2. Funnels

3. Course creation

4. Facebook group creation

5. Weekly consulting meetings Etc

I have done over 30 hours of working with people one on one and I know my craft works.

I will be charging anywhere from 35-60 dollars and hour for a one on one session for the first year of my practice once certified. Then my prices will likely double.

If I want people to have amazing results they need to practice for a few months with me.

I will be charging 2-3 thousand dollars for a three month course with my for Qigong, meditation, mindfulness and journaling. It may sound like a lot, but it's 36 1 hr Qigong sessions, plus a live group with weekly videos answering questions, journaling prompts, and PDFs explaining Qigong theory and meditation. Plus there is a sense of community from the group and the psychological benefit of having committed with the financial investment.

I am hoping to get 5-10 clients for my first launch of the course. The course may even be cheaper for the first launch I have to decide. But, I don't want to waste a whole year not trying to invest in myself and my LP.

There are safer slower routes as well, but I want to take advantage of the online market.

8k is not at all cheap for me. I already put a downpayment on the consultancy, so I feel pretty committed.

Anyway, I am planning on moving slow but, It's the investment I am planning on making as my earning grows with my diploma I am getting in three weeks. I want to teach Qigong full time online and I see it as a route I want to take.

Does this person have references you can speak to?

Maybe some other people who paid for this package could provide more specific insight

Yeah, Maybe as people read the thread send me more things to consider I would appreciate it.

He seems legit, but I don't know. There seems to be a risk in everything in life. Really, I am investing in my education here through his 6 week program.

I have already seen his PDF documents and some of the course material it's a really powerful course program from the outside.

What Qigong has done for me and my well being... It's a gift and an honour to share it with others.

Look I know dropping 8k is risky.. But from the sounds of it automating and making the marketing, course creation, having my hand held through the process etc seems worth it. I don't wanna waste years fucking around trying to figure out funnels, marketing, client acquisition strategies. If someone has gone and made a system that works I am going to invest in it.

The less time I have to spend learning this shit on my own, the more time and effort goes into making my course powerful, effective, and available to people who are suffering.

If I am not willing to invest money into my dreams to get expertise on building a powerful brand, business, and online business with systems that work.. I will never succeed.

I wanna make 6 figures helping people and doing what I love. To me, if this is what I think it is 8k is pennies in the long run.

I can afford it once I get my job. So I will have to work 8 hours a day, and then spend the next 4-5 hours at home building the course, running the classes etc. I still have to do all the logistics here. We will see.

If you are passionate and certain about the value of qigong then that is a good sign.

I'd say just spend some time contemplating about how you want to move forward, and see if anything else comes up to think about.

The number one thing is you have to be reasonably certain that you see the value in qigong, and you can provide value and help them. It seems like you are a true believer in this respect.

I would say try to talk to some people who also purchased the course, and take any other steps you can to vet this person so you know for certain you are getting value for the money spent

No, this is actually how you know the guy is probably legit. If he was charging some low price like $1-2k or less, then I would be skeptical

High leverage advice costs $$$ money

Assuming that real marketers with good seniority can make 5k+ a month it doesn't look that crazy to me if he set up all the Funnel for you and give you free consultation after that.

This is what people assume. It's easy logic. But the truth is much deeper and more complex than this.

consulting obviously is going to cost more than management fees. But he/she better be showing you some good shit for $8000. And I'm sorry but click funnels and sales navigator (via LinkedIn)– which is where the higher dollar amounts come from– aren't even 8K worthy imo.

It's huge amount of money. You should ask them what system are they providing or do you have to buy them as well.

Consulting is like providing information. I can tell you lots of information: You need to work hard. You need to be passionate but you already know all these.

But of course, some info may be vital and will accelerate your business or even make or break your business. You decide.

@Raptorsin7 Yeah I've been in digital marketing for almost 5 years. I know plenty of rockstar marketers who would never charge something so ridiculous. For something as simple as Qigong and breathwork? I mean ohhh my gawd. I have worked with big corporate brands, casinos, hospitality groups. I'm familiar with marketing budgets. And I'm telling you, 8K for breathwork is fucking retarded I'm sorry. I mean it kind of makes me upset. I work with large hotel properties that don't even spend that much but I guess (granted) they don't really have to idk. I get it, I know I don't know exactly what this guy is offering. I just know it better be something fucking insane if he/she is charging that much for breathwork. haha. Try selling medical devices, haha. Anyway, You can get amazing results for a quarter of that price if you're working with someone who knows what they are doing. Just saying!
