Crystal portrait artwork

20 posts in this topic

I have recently discovered a new hobby which is fun and can inspire original art. The process is very simple : I just take a good sized crystal (mine is quartz) and use my cell phone to take pictures. The pictures are a mix of intuitive snapping with my eyes closed, or seeking out the images. Both work extremely well. The images appear on the outside of the crystal, or deep inside.

I then decided to start drawing what I see, because others were struggling to see the images. I am only sharing images that I consider to be uncanny and unexplainable.

Do you see what I see, or something else?

@Random witch @Random witch I'll try again ?

I call it Heartbeat of Creation, and as you can see, it appears as if a 'big bang' is emanating from a person's chest. They seem very happy about it too?? in truth it is my own reflection, but this entire shot is very really and completely with random camera shots.

Also, notice a bulldog in the sand above the crystal? That's an added bonus?

Where I sit to use my PC, the roof is made up of green fiber sheets. Those have lots of wrinkles, dirt and what not in them. So I sometimes just look up and stare at it, and I can see so many different images in it. Most simple to most complex images. Amazing. Same with a dirty floor, etc.

@Swarnim yes, it's really cool. Marbled tile has great images. And wood grain. What I find fascinating is that those type of images are static and will always be there when you look again. But I have never captured the same image twice with the crystal

I don´t see a mouse. I see a hedgehog lieing on his belly, raising his head and awkwardly looking at the world with his weirdly big eye.

@Random witch  @Swarnim  @Hulia

I'm rather speechless with this... I drew this exactly from the crystal. The only thing I added was the stars background...

Also, I thought some @Nahm-like form might appreciate.

The crystal (according to 'these eyes') depicts a safe transferring perspective to a dream bunny in the forest.

  The first is called "Shapeshifter"  can you make out all the many faces and forms?

The second, "Just Sit", depicts a person sitting at the mouth of a cave.
