Euthyphro dilemma

5 posts in this topic

Hi, I was reading Plato's 5 dialogues after watching this video:

After reading Euthyphro

I was wondering:

Something is pious simply because it is pious. Not because god said it was pious. Is this the right answer?

Thank you to all the answers :)

Everything is however you (God) imagines it to be.

If you imagine fucking a goat is pious, then so it is.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Have you read That last days of socrates? I feel like there is a really good dialogue around the term pious that goes deeply to show the relativity or, need to see how we construct what is pious to us.

@Leo Gura  But from a relative perspective, doing wrong things makes you egotistical and thus less connected to God and this is what really makes them wrong.

I am the only thing stopping myself from receiving infinite Love form Myself. I am Infinite Love for god sake.

but written below your post it says “I am the only thing stopping myself from receiving infinite love from myself”.

it’s not your actions that pull you from God, it’s your beliefs, judgement, and already inherent egotism that is expressing itself through your “impious” actions
