Can chiropractor actually straighten posture permanently?

5 posts in this topic

I understand regular chiropractor visits can relative pain, but my issue is posture.

Importantly, is the straightened posture permanent?

@Bob Seeker My son had scoliosis and was close to needing a back brace when diagnosed at 14.

Chiropractic care straightened his back and now he's 28. He hasn't been to the Chiropractor now in years and has no major issues.

I guess it would depend on what your diagnosis is?

A massage therapist who is familiar with pressure point therapy can help with that. That’s the path I’m on because I have a friend who is a gifted massage therapist. I know that permanent correction is out of the question for me due to old injuries combined with habitual wear and tear. As time goes by I seem to require fewer visits per year though. A good Chiropractor who isn’t driven primarily over making a dollar is probably your best find if you can find one. Just my opinion though.

Although not permanent, one pressure point therapy session immediately straightens my posture. How long it lasts depends basically on how conscious I stay during the lifting of heavy objects and doing hard work.

@Bob Seeker If you don't have any permanent damage, look for the Alexander technique teacher in your area. Will do you more good than chiropractic.
